This also helped me understand my anxiety depersonalization disorder, at the same time as my RSI. Seriously! It's even more simple than i thought it would be. I never hoped to understand the connection between mind and body but it's basically cured my anxiety now that i know what i'm dealing with. Excellent explanation too couldn't be clearer.
You guys are all crazy fucks...fibromyalgia/ CFS is proven to be a real physical disease which is caused by a virus in the immune system...You guys are all a bunch of mindless fucking sheep, you people are a disgrace to people who suffer massive pain (some can't even move their body at all a whole day, and suffer 24/7) But what do you people do??! You sick motherfuckers ALL believe and support that what this retard said is true. You people sicken me!!
if pain is in the mind, than why does it feel as if it's coming straight from the source (e.g. finger), not from your brain? So the only way to get rid of your pain is to get rid of your brain, is that right?
@NorthviewVids The point that Dr Schubiner is making is that the pain sensation IS real. The neural pathways have "learned bad habits" and you definitely feel it. Dr. Schubiner's approach is to retrain the brain's neural pathways rather than get rid of the brain.
@mblumenthal5558 I know about phantom pain, only incase of amputations, and this tells, brain feel pain ,having no pian anywhere. but how to remove this computer mistake , nobody knows
why do we blush?? why do we get goose bumps watching a movie in a warm theater ? why do we get butterflies on a first date? you can believe the mind can cause pain without injury because its true that it does
Great explanation of non injury related pain. his explanation has been so much more insightful than the three heavy text books I've just read on the matter! Thank you for posting :)
This is so basic. I guess it's good info for people who have never studied or even thought about Transactional Analysis, which was popular in the 60's.
I suffered with extreme "Fibromyalgia" for 6 years. I was in pain 24 hours a day and had loss and numbness down my legs, in my back, base of my skull, shooting pain in my feet, etc.
I found out about Mind-Body healing about a year and a half ago. I did the mental work, went to a therapist who specializes in TMS/ AOS.
I have been pain free for about a year and never even think about it anymore or am limited physically.
I agree 100% , first of all think about all these poeple who do "POWERLIFTING", I mean you see this poeple lifting over 500 lbs Squating over 800 lbs and they do this over and over again on a daily basis. I know, because i go to a Gym. Also think about the actor Jackie Chang who does his own incredible stungs and has broken almost every bone in his body including his back and you still see him making movies and he's fine. I agree with this Doctor.
MBS disregards the fact that some pain manifests itself from INJURY. How would it explain this, as this stress model doesn't. It only explain chronic illness.
I think Dr. Schubiner would agree that much pain has a physiologic explanation. He really emphasizes that his practice should only be followed after the those physical causes have been eliminated as possible sources for the pain.
@mblumenthal5558 I think the point is also though that physical pain manifesting from injury is still caused by the brain. If you consider that pain is the brain's interpretation of danger, which leads us to protecting ourselves, you can easily see that physical manifestations of pain from "injuries" really do come from the brain. It is the brain's job to pull us back from danger, including re-irritating an injury, how else would it do that? This is what pain is for originally; to protect us.
@SherrinBernstein Yes that is very true... Dr. Schubiner thinks that on occasion and for some people, the brain remembers those pain pathways even after the immediate danger has passed. Would you agree?
I had tms manifest itself as debilitating back pain. Worst pain of my life. Read Dr. Sarno's books and saw him, did treatment plan (Not surgery), am 100% recovered. The brain is very powerful in reacting to emotions and creating physical conditions and pain. This clip is a good explanation--especially about conditioning (Pavlov's dogs).
well you see for woman, it's pretty much who they make themselve's to be.
to give you and honest opinion men and woman have pretty much the same intelligence field, but when it comes to genderhood, we creat this patern that makes us look like where bad and nice.
i went to see dr shubiner when i was on 180mgs of morphine, out of it and still in pain 24/7
I took his 3 workshops and by the time i got done the third week the pain left my lower spine, settle in my neck and shoulder for about a week and then all my pain was gone.
ITS AMAZING, read Dr Sarnos book and if it doesnt ring a bell then go no farher, but if it does take Dr, Shubiners course
I suffered back pain for years and went to a pain clinic where the doctors answer was morphine I was more and more dependant on morphine and still in pain 24/7
i went to see Dr, Shubiner and he said i had TSM, I took his workshops and i was AMAZED.
After the first workshop my pain left my lower spine and moved to my neck and shoulder in which the doc said, thats good, I just shook my head and hoped he wasnt a quack.
by the time i took the 3 workshops my pain was gone, its amazing.

Okay 95% is subconscious 11million bits subconscious vs 40 conscious what's wrong with that statistic???!!!
That would be 99.999996% subconsious.

Excelent.
I disagree with this statement however- "women are nicer, they are more caring"
