@TheRonster9319 They are building the Freedom Tower - a single building - to replace the fallen twin towers. It 's construction is well underway and it already towers above the buildings around it. It supposed to officially open in 2013.
There wil also be other buidlings - some quite tall - built as part of the complex of buildings that make up the Centre and Memorial. One of those tall buidlings is already complete .. and the Memorial is open and mostly complete.
they should have rebuilt a totally new bigger and better twin towers. not the 5 smaller buildings idea. i like the memorial itself and 2 water pools, but i dont agree with the 5 lower buildings concept. it seems like aquiescing to the terrorists.

I've always felt the United States' response to the devastating events of September 11th should have been peaceful and reflective of our humanity. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The guy that washes the WTC's window seems such like a nice, funny, kind guy. He was such a happy guy until the towers fell. Everytime I see him being happy with his work washing the windows, and loving the view just makes me smile. He's such a nice guy. :)

When I was little my family visited the twin towers and I only remembered the flags hanging in the lobby. But I was unaware of the 9/11 attack until now. I saw a video of the lobby and my mind came on and I was thinking the flags were familiar. But beautiful pools, they will be a great grave of all victims. Never forget!

I do miss the old towers.but if you think about it,the old buildings began building in 1966 and finished in 1973. So that was 38 years ago,the truth is its the 21st century if we are ever to evolve as a civilization we cannot go backwards and potentialy fall behind with the rest of the world.

And the Twin Towers II were going to be built along side or right behind them! That would've been an ultimate Tribute! The WTC site don't need 3 or 4 extra towers!

The guy that washes the WTC's window seems such like a nice, funny, kind guy. He was such a happy guy until the towers fell. Everytime I see him being happy with his work washing the windows, and loving the view just makes me smile. He's such a nice guy. :)

Nothing they build, will ever replace the Twin Towers. They were a symbol, of the American Ambition. To take the job at hand, with val. when i look at ground zero. I don't see that new tower. When I was little my family visited the twin towers and I only remembered the flags hanging in the lobby. But I was unaware of the 9/11 attack until now. I saw a video of the lobby and my mind came on and I was thinking the flags were familiar. But beautiful pools, they will be a great grave of all victims. Never forget!

New york policemen and firefighters are not invited to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at ground zero. Mayor claims there isn't enough room for them.
They weren't invited on that day in 2001 either. They just showed up and did their job!! And 343 firefighters died at that one shout. Please re-post if you think they belong there more than the politicians

@charcharxx1 I completely agree with you. Imagine those who worked in the Twin Towers and survived. It would probably be akin to reliving a nightmare every morning if they went back to work in buildings that look just like the ones that were lost, and that they lost so many co-workers in. The Memorial will be beautiful, and the buildings futuristic and sleek- showing that we're looking forward, not back. Optimism and pride are what the the WTC needs. I do miss the old towers.but if you think about it,the old buildings began building in 1966 and finished in 1973. So that was 38 years ago,the truth is its the 21st century if we are ever to evolve as a civilization we cannot go backwards and potentialy fall behind with the rest of the world.
