even for the people in the north, when its freezing rain its hard to drive. people that dont drive on it alot dont know what to do. usually accidents like this start with one car going in the ditch and everybody else hitting the brakes and spinning out.
yea thats no bid deal we got and ich or rain yesterday and than overnight snowed 8 inches. and road was ice. and i was doing 55. its all about the driver. you have to be anticipating to loose control and if you start to you have to correct it. AK baby.
You are so full of shiat it smells bad. If you can not walk up it your jeep wont make it also if you can not walk on it no way to drive on it. Unless you got studded snow tires you do not have prayer in world. You have ice skates or something.
I always hear people up north talking about "That's nothing but a little ice!" and all I have to say to that is: Yes. It is 'just a little ice,' but here's the thing - you can't see black ice and you don't expect it in the south. Just looks like a rain-slicked road until you're sliding off the road. Up north there are preventive measures to make the roads safer - the roads are shoveled and salt or sand is poured. Most people in the south have no idea what to do when the roads are covered in ice.
Excuse my ignorance, but why drive when the roads are like that? I would be terrified even if I was a passenger. (Australian so don't really get that kind of thing here lol)
Been Here, Done That, Moved back north. That ice is ......... Well you put a name on it Sitting on the road, 2 deep, ice on the road, brakes on wheels continue turing, car fish tailing, back across the median and head home. That is all you can do.
Only two types of people who keep going on a road like that. Those who have had an accident and haven't managed to stop yet, and those who are about to have an accident.
that dude sliding in the video reminded me of me when i was 13......just got to Reno....got out of the car..........and "Holly Shit"....."slide across the paking lot"
@lfsracer79 They outlawed those in most states many years ago. Colorado, New Hampshire, and Vermont are the only snow states that allow them any more. I guess saving wear on the roads was more important than saving lives.
@12345JJBB This is the south. They're not used to weather like that. Just like how many of you northerners freak out the first time you experience a southern summer.
sorry bro, experience that quite a bit, sure not as much but its not surprising for us. this year in toronto it got to 49 with the humidex one day, which is 110 F.
@12345JJBB You said it. It does get that hot, but not as often. Down south it can get that hot for months on end. Some of you Canadians would likely fall apart under that kind of consistent heat.
It doesn't get extremely hot in Canada often, and they don't see winter weather in the south often. What sense does it make to scoff at people for struggling in dealing with weather they aren't accustomed to?
@mpope409 yeah but its not that extreme , I mean 2 weeks of 32C+ straight we don't go nuts and break apart. If you guys got 5 feet of snow for 2 weeks straight you'd totally shit your pants
@12345JJBB Never shit my pants, sorry, nor has anyone else I know. Actually, most people down south enjoy snow events. It can be difficult though because southern cities do not have the equipment to relieve the roads of winter precipitation. It simply isn't cost effective to invest in that equipment when it snows or we get freezing rain like once MAYBE every year in most parts of this region.
@12345JJBB Similar to how Canadians and other northerners down here act like they're going to die when it's in the high 90s (F) for more than a week. It takes a while for people to adapt to weather they aren't used to.
@bgmorse I've only tried it once here in Denmark. It was fun for the 7 minutes I was outside smoking a cigarette, but when I actually had to head home from work... ugh!
@bgmorse Yeah it is, if you have no fucking traction then you are fucked, dumbass..... With snow you have traction and its fun, with ice it's just pain in the ass.
I suggest jeepman to drive bmw rear wheel 3 series in snow see how you handle it lol.
