I realized that when red foxes call out, other red foxes don't bark back. It's only one fox you hear barking/screaming out like that.

a red fox most likely or probably a vixen crying and calling for a mate by mating calls you are bound to get alot of them in frosty conditions where winds are still sometimes the moon light helps too
