what are you doing at 1.23 to 1.37 something about trim speed and you get it first time what is it and what do u have to do to get it right first time and how do you do it thanks
@EXPLORINGYouinHD I'm setting the length of the speedbar so that it won't accelerate the glider when at neutral and will fully accelerate at maximum. The speedbar is a bar you push with your feet that is attached to a pulley system on the risers. When you push the bar it pulls down the front risers decreasing the angle of attack of the wing and making you go faster.
WOW!!!!!! I would really like to try this!! It must be great just sitting up there? Can't see it happening in my country though! (Ireland) I have looked and there is nothing, damb it!! Dream on!
@Nupey2able If you can get a group of people together who want lessons, we might be able to work something out. I would love to travel to Ireland! Here is our international number if you want to chat sometime: 1-801-631-1731.
@SuperJames2point0 Not at all! That helps make this the cheapest way to own a personal flying machine! Excellent instruction is key, and we only fly the best machines in the world. Let's get you set up with some summer lessons! Give me a call so we can touch bases: 800-707-2525. I look forward to your call my friend!
@Wideawake420UK Excellent my friend! You will have the BEST machine out of anyone in your area! The Flat-Tops are absolutely amazing machines. Safe, easy, durable, and they last forever. I look forward to your call!
@Wideawake420UK Fantastic! You will be totally happy with your decision! The first thing to do is get you some lessons. We travel all over the States training people and taking them up. It's just a matter of calling us so we can plug you in! Hope to hear from you soon. 800-707-2525
What is the cost of this unit... wing & trike? I know the Flat top is $6,900 right. Do you like flying more with the trike or with the paramotor on your back? Pro's and con's? Awesome vids btw!
@armedandready72 The S-Trike is about $15,000 with all the top of the line stuff complete ready to fly. It is 3 aircraft in one as you can fly the glider with no motor, or foot launch the backpack unit or fly it as a trike. Very cool setup covering any type of flying you need to do. Give me a call sometime if you would like to chat about it. Thanks, Dell 800-707-2525
@imasuper0308 Thanks for the fast reply Dell, I definitely will call you as soon as I get the loot. Paying off 2 motorcycles right now. Should have em paid off by mid to late summer. They don't do financing on these by any chance do they?
@armedandready72 lol get rid of the motorcycles. I have 11 vertibre fused together and a hip & hand bolted together from motorcycles. This is waaaaay safer and more fun. The worst I've ever done in this sport is a bruise, sprain and some scraped knees and you can see how I fly in my videos. This is the coolest sport ever as long as you get the right equipment and training. I wish I got into this when I was 19 instead of breaking every bone in my body on motorcycles first.
@imasuper0308 Damn! What did you do hit a tractor trailer? I have 2 street bikes & 2 dirt bikes. A Ninja a cruiser bike, a dual sport and a 2 stroke motocross bike. Last year I put 100 miles on the Ninja, 500 miles on the cruiser, 50 miles on the dual sport and I bought the CR-250 brand new in 03 and I have maybe 15 hours on it. Haven't even started it in 2 years. For shame! The worst part is I am a merchant marine and only work 14 days each month. 26 weeks off a year. I could be a flying fool!
@armedandready72 Went off a 60 ft cliff on a CBR900RR and then wheelied off the freeway on an FZR1000... you won't ride your bikes any more once you get into this sport. Flying is truely the final frontier. Sooo dang fun man!
@basballcarn Actually they are ridiculously safe. So safe that nobody has ever been killed or even injured on the quality equipment and it certainly isn't for a lack of trying. Screw up all you like and with the quality equipment it just saves your butt. It is an extremely cool thing about the sport. This is ONLY if you get wpsda certified equipment though. For sure you can kill yourself on the cheap crap out there.
@johnson1095 Yes no problem at all, it would be the ultimate getaway aircraft as it doesn't need any runway and can fly hundreds of miles. I've gone 280 miles on only 4 gallons before. Fun stuff.
I already have ~60 hours (15 dual and 45 solo) in a Cessna, but fell short of my license several years ago. Does this fall under F.A.R. part 103? In addition, would the flat top be compatible with a tandem harness--and would I need to have a light sport license to fly a passenger? Thanks!
Yes this is an ultralight under 103. No you don't need a sport pilot license for tandem. There is an exemption for ultralights and I am an administrator so I can pass off other tandem instructors. Give me a call if you have any questions at all. 800-707-2525 Dell

How many days of flying can you get in a typical year where you live? I would imagine wind speeds would have to remain quite low to be safe.
gamccoy 2 years ago
300 or so. I can fly in up to 30mph winds. New pilots keep it below 15mph.
