  • Definitely not a "forgotten artist" on this end. Wynn Stewart was one of country music's giants.

  • Very nice post. Laura

  • forgotten by the powers that be, but never, never, never by the fans. He should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame!!!

  • Grew up not much into country but Wynn lived around the corner from us in SW Arlington,tx in the 60s and my aunt used to play his Pretty World Today song and I really liked it. Recently they played it at her funeral. I have fond memories now of Wynn's music and have great admiration for his style and contribution to country music!

  • Wynn Stewart was easily the best vocalist of the Bakersfield scene.

  • Oh Sweetness.

  • Wynn gave so much to the Bakersfield Sound, and his hits were more pop oriented. Does anyone have a video or recording of Eyes as Big as Dallas to post?

  • Thanks so much for your posts of Wynn Stewart. I wonder if you could post one of his other great songs, "A Clinging Vine". Its another beautiful song of his. Are you in touch with his daughter?
