to answer, yes, the two elbows cut Hamill over the eye was what stopped the fight, Jones may have brought the fight to a place where Hamill had no chance to win, even by decision, but it was illegal strikes that broke hamill's skin and caused extensive bleeding (the reason why 12 6's are illegal in the first place) which was what forced the fight to end. Had Jones not thrown 12 6's he would have won. Which is why he lost this match for himself and has only himself to blame.

This is a good example for young fighters, on why you need to be well-rounded to be a champ in mma. If you are a great striker, then you prob. lack ground game. Train on the ground first, and get it right. If not, you end up holding your cock wondering why you didn't win.

There are two reasons: He's on his back and doesn't want the fight stopped. The second, he's on top and wants the fight stopped=Jones You have to finish the fight on your own, not hope the ref steps in.

Then every other ref would have done so in error. Hamill was posting a defense, and even Jones admits that his strikes "weren't working". He was indeed destroying Hamill and had he shown a shred of discipline he would have walked away with a W. He did not show discipline, and because he didn't want to settle for a decision, he made an illegal move and lost. Period. The ref can't stop a fight if the defender is DEFENDING. learn the rules before you hit the cap lock button.

What else was needed? Hamill needed to stop defending himself, which he continued to do so, thus the fight continued until this jack ass threw intentional elbows to cut him and stop the fight. If he was a real fighter, he would have simply continued pounding with LEGAL strikes until the round was over, or dismounted and let Hamill to his feet so he could try again with something else. He got frustrated and PUSSIED OUT WITH ILLEGAL STRIKES. period.

I'm relaxed, I just hate it when people say dumb ass things, and what you said wasn't what he meant. he said "what do i have to do to get the fight called?". he didn't do enough. Hamill didn't need to improve his position, he didn't need to hit back. All he needed to do was defend, keep his hands up over his face, and the fight continues. Those are the rules. He did NOT land 30 shots, but he threw about 60, landed maybe 2 or 3. MAYBE, and they weren't even good strikes.

to answer, yes, the two elbows cut Hamill over the eye was what stopped the fight, Jones may have brought the fight to a place where Hamill had no chance to win, even by decision, but it was illegal strikes that broke hamill's skin and caused extensive bleeding (the reason why 12 6's are illegal in the first place) which was what forced the fight to end. Had Jones not thrown 12 6's he would have won. Which is why he lost this match for himself and has only himself to blame.

I didnt resort to name calling did I :) I never said that Hammil beat Bones, but he got the win for a reason, Bones was using alot of illegal blows. His reasoning for this in the video, was to get the referee to stop it since he wouldnt, and the idiot didnt realize that using illegal blows would get the fight stopped, and get him a DQ. :)

The only reason I couldnt tell if it was 2 or 3 was because the video was of bad quality. What makes the illegal blows worse is that it was a straight downward elbow, which can easily kill a person :)

yeah, the move is illegal, but you can use any other type of elbow in the ufc... why would that certain move (12 to 6 elbows) be considered any "more illegal" than the other elbows. UFC needs to be away with this rule

Why would those elbows necessarily mean that he lost the match? Wouldn't a point deduction or warning have been more appropriate? Really shouldn't have been a loss. Do others automatically lose matches for an illegal move? MAKES NO SENSE!!! TOTALLY UNFAIR!!!

This is a good example for young fighters, on why you need to be well-rounded to be a champ in mma. If you are a great striker, then you prob. lack ground game. Train on the ground first, and get it right. If not, you end up holding your cock wondering why you didn't win.

@johnheather1 I did happen to watch the fight. You answered your own question in your reply. Why would a fighter watch the ref? There are two reasons: He's on his back and doesn't want the fight stopped. The second, he's on top and wants the fight stopped=Jones You have to finish the fight on your own, not hope the ref steps in.
