  • Great music, poorly executed video.

  • deadtofall is correct. Bobby Darrin translated it (or had it translated) and these are the words we are all used to.

  • @imbluedaba21- Actually, at the VERY beginning of the game, when you escape the wreckage of the plane crash to enter that one building(in which you eventually reach a transporting device that brings you to Atlantis), this tune faintly plays in the background-without the lyrics, but it still plays. Which, in my opinion, was awesome(I love this song).

  • lol, the only thing I can think of to post is Jack is somehwere beyond the sea asking himself, "Why is the rum, always gone?"

    LOL

  • haha. i know that.

i thought i saw a commercial for some cruise or something a few years ago that was done by frank sinatra.

and it sounds like sinatra's style.

  • made a mistake on the comment

i meant i liked the Robbie Williams version but in my opinion nothing beats the Bobby Darin version :P

  • Robbie Williams

  • THANKS for sharing this with us! I've never seen any of those pirate movies, but they look like a lot of fun. I know they really cleaned up at the box office. And what a stroke of genius to have "Beyond the Sea" play while pics are seen from the the movie! Appropriate to the max, daddy-o! I especially love it as "Beyond the Sea" is one of my favorite songs. And of course Robbie Williams does his usual "bang up" job. THANKS AGAIN!!! :)

  • Fantastico * * * * *

  • 1:49 Shake it ;D

  • i love the bioshock trailer version of this, this is why i sing it whenever when i wait for a ride home, or just walking around! terrific song!

  • LOL me too, I saw the bioshock version but I believe that's sinatra and I can't find it anywhere so if you find that version post it!!

  • As far as anyone is aware, a frank Sinatra version was never recorded. apparently he did sing it a few times live, but never got round to/wasn't allowed to record it.

A young man whose name I've forgotten made a recording of it that sounded remarkably like frank sinatra, and a lot of collectors actually buy it thinking it is frank sinatras.

  • Can you confirm that it's NOT bobby darin? Or is that he 'young man' you're thinking of?

  • The version I'm on about was not by Bobby Darin no, it was performed by a not particularly famous crooner called Ronnie Deauville, who just happened to sound like a young Frank Sinatra.

I'll be honest, I think Frank Sinatra was a highly overrated singer, and quite frankly Bobby Darin has the perfect voice for this song, to my mind.

  • rofl me too, that game is so epic

  • I love this song (though not this version) and I love the movies, but this is just... no. It just doesn't work.

  • jim carrey is the best actor

  • bwahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahh this beaner said jim carrey was the best... WBAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA WHEN ARE PEOPLE GONNA STOP DOING CRACK HAAHAHA

  • terrific song!

  • wtf is this, some kind of alternate story crap

  • lulz wut?

  • Somewhere beyond the sea! do ti do ti doooo

  • i thought frank sinatra did it first

  • he did

  • Thanks for sharing flybreath - Adore Johnny Depp - A total Master at his Craft. Very Catchy tune too.

  • Johnny Depp is one of the best damn actors of our time. :)

  • Not as good as Christan Bale though.

  • OK EVERYONE!!! I did research and it is INDEED! Robbie William. Bobby Darin's song sounds more Jazzy and he has a deeper voice.

  • Bobby Darin did it first

  • actually Charles Trenet did it first, and it's originally in French.

  • Its Robbie Williams.

  • it kinda sounds like frank senatra

  • Comment removed

  • yup its Bobby Darin

  • I think its Dean Martin

  • Bobby Darin

  • That's not Dean Martin. Dean sings in a lower register, I think. It's probably Bobby Darin.

  • i wish he was real! itw ould be so cool :')

  • isnt that robbie williams?

  • Yes. Just read the description.

  • yes is robbie williams

  • isnt it frank sinatra? sounds nothing like robbie williams to me

  • Being a pirate is awesome. Done. and Johnny Depp wouldn't work as Batman, but he is awesome

  • There is no way Johnny Depp could be worse than the train wreck with George Clooney, and butt shots of *everyone*! Ooooh script sucks, well just show everyone's butts.

  • umn anyone GOOD smart guy would choose his career then a women...unless you want to be in a trailor park or apartment working at Mc donalds XD...but whatever you want in life right??

  • Hey man, you did a marvelous job on the editing for this video - great screenshots, great timing - thoroughly enjoyable. Tyvm

  • Actually I think you'll find this is a VERY poor version by Robbie Williams.... can't hold a candle to Bobby Darin

  • i really like Bobby Darins version, but still pretty good, and Jack is the coolest pirate ever

  • I get it.

  • i like tertels

  • Great rendering.I still think Frank Sinatra was a shade better.

  • Franks complete song book does not show a recording of this song. Sorry.

  • Sinatra was a bum, short arse little gangster did dodgy dealings with innocent people!

  • umm who cares?

  • captain jack sparrow is HOT

  • the original of bobby darin is the best

  • just look at 1:32 its great taht face is priceless

  • woah..priceless (you moron)

  • i just love the video with it tis fantastic

  • I thought it was a french song...

  • yes it is

  • this songs actually quite good

  • rofl

    i love this

  • Check Sinatras discography, It does not show this song. Sorry fans of Frank.

  • The song is on you tube! Its by Frank Sinatra...cooL!

  • it's bobby darin!

  • Ah...I know that too!!! What was I thinking! anyway...isnt this video actually not bobby darin, but Jack Sparrow? I was told he sang it in the movie (which I never saw)...hmmmmmmmmm!

  • Sorry, you're wrong. It was posted by someone who is being flamed by Darin AND Sinatra fans. He posted the Darin version with a picture of Sinatra. That doesn't make it a Sinatra song.

  • That is not bobby darin. Listen to the youtube video of bobby darin singing this! I was told that Jack Sparrow did sing it in the movie, and it sounds like him...johnny depp (who has a band!) It has his voice and everything... As for Sinatra, he has his bad and his good songs. He does an incredible "Witchcraft", that is for sure. I have a lot of his music, but Bobby Darin? I loved "Mack the Knife"! AH YEAH!

  • Hello and sorry, Glorys9! I was replying to someone who swore that Sinatra had done this song, which he didn't. Somehow I wound up with my post not where it should be. Sorry! THIS page uses the Robbie Williams version. Sinatra rules - MOST of the time. Bobby Darin - amazing guy. Brilliant. If you're ever in Paris, check out Depp's restaurant called Man Ray. He's co-owner - or was - with Sean Penn and John Malkovich! Great wine list.

  • actually the first covers of this song came from the late 1940's. but it was Darin's cover that made it famous.

written by Jack Lawrence who also wrote "If I Didn't Care" by the Ink Spots.

  • Sinatra's the best ;D

  • I love Robbie Williams! This is from the end of Finding Nemo. He also did a great rendition of It's De-Lovely in Delovely. You guys are way too hard on him. Have a martini and relax. Sheesh.

  • The Original are from Bobby Darin

  • Frank is the best one singing this song, then robbie xD

  • best song ever lol rofl

  • This isn't Darin or Sinatra. This is the Robbie Williams recording.

  • I am curious if Bobby Darin recorded the song twice...any answers?

  • i like the sinatra version better

  • sinatra never sng this it was bobby darin

  • he sang it in nightclubs but never recorded it

  • when it was never record wherefrom you know it^^

  • this is such a good song choice for the video! HAHA! go Johnny Depp :) and thanks for the wonderful video.

  • Definatly not as good as the original though.

  • I like this voice because it remind`s me of the Cruise commercial`s.
