This isn't an ostracod. This is a cladoceran, probably a Bosmina. At least, that's what it looks like to my ill-informed eye. =^)

Beautiful! Thanks for filming these for us. I could watch them all day, too. You find them in almost any sample of standing water, don't you?

@orglancs I'm sure you could find them in most pond water samples. I got this from a scummy fish tank.
