  • Besides playing with the BEACH BOYS glen is a fantastic writer/player and inspired many musicians, for i am one, thank you sir.

  • God Bless You Glen!

  • I heard this was like his "finale tune". In other words, he's not making any other music. :(

  • @confetticats He's got Alzheimer's. He's on his last tour dates now, but even so, he's on his way out already.

  • 12 people have no heart and no soul.

  • @promosounds make that 12...oh God, how sad they are so pitiful

  • I have never paid attention to this mans music until now . I have to say that I have found a great one . I'm going to get all his music today . Wow "

  • A wonderful tune, a wonderful singer who is far better than many 'pop stars' or should I say 'manufactured merchandise masquerading as pop artists' of today's youth.

  • I saw him in concert! It was so amazing!

  • This is one very "screeching" video. =p

  • Where is the love button? I love this song, I love Glen, his voice is endless.....makes me smile, and sing! What more could I ask for in an entertainer?

  • Glen still makes songs for the radio. This song is incredible!

  • Fuck all who dislike this. How could they?!?!?! Thumbs up if they don't know real music </3

  • "Ghost On The Canvas" is an excellent piece of work by the great Glen Campbell. The songs and backtracks are wonderful. I hope his Alzheimer's disease progresses slowly, and that he is able to continue performing for as long as possible.

  • paul westerberg wrote this song for glen :)

  • A great album by a great artist...

  • Fewer than 8 Masters have the talent and love for fun as Mr. Campbell.

  • the word star is altogether mentioned for any artist, but this guy is the real deal ,this is so beautiful

  • Had the good fortune to see him in Aberdeen. Very emotional night. Great guy.

  • love this lovely man...!

  • Every great artist deserves a great finale, but few ever get it. Sir Glen, you have got it! A magnificent album for any point in a career, yet it is truly the perfect farewell record. Dust off the tux, buddy!

  • @ohbutyes Yes, dust off the tux... You have "travelled" so far and shared a lot. --From the Philippines (Where you may not have been to but your songs have echoed to almost all corners of this archipelagic country).

  • I cry everytime I realize that he is fading away.

  • a great great artist......

  • Written by Paul Westerberg.

  • @paddlepop77 One of our greatest songwriters.

  • @KellyGreen5555 true,true

  • @KellyGreen5555 true, so true.

  • What an awesome song, thank you!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful song. I am going to miss him so very much when the Alzheimer's takes him from us.

  • anybody know if theres an extended version of this cus i heard a radio play and it was this and another softer tune straight after it didnt know if it was all ghost on the canvas or a follow up track

  • @Davejimjr was it Ken Bruce on Radio 2? He played this followed by 'Don't Give Up on us Baby' by David Soul, it's the same seven notes, but maybe a different key.

  • Great man and singer.

  • He was brilliant in London on 22 October 2011 - wonderful night. Thanks for the wonderful music Glen xxx

  • @abrokenframe82

What about people who dream of progress for the better, are they conceited??

Without progress, our world will have people who die and suffer needlessly for as long as our race exists. What you've said seems absurd to me, but i suppose i'm just being conceited eh?

  • @calums420 I think maybe a different kind of progression brokenframe was talking about?? :-) I think the innocence has certainly been ruined by progress....as in, media etc. Look how children are growing up faster these days because of that.....and although this wonderful internet as it's fantastic benefits, in another way, it's ruined so much else in society.

  • An Amazing guy. A Superstar.

  • great song , great guy !!!

  • Beautiful song.I saw this wonderful man last night in Cardiff. A wonderful touching gig that I'll never forget.

  • We saw Glen playing at the Royal Festival Hall on the 22nd Oct 2011 - Fantastic !!! He will be missed when he retires.

  • Love, love, love!

  • I saw Glen in Branson.

  • This is a great song and comes from a fantastic new CD(Ghost on a Canvas) full of very thought-provoking music. I have followed Glen since 1970 when he had the Good Time Hour show. He is the real deal, down to earth, genuine, and the songs on this CD provide some real insight into what is making him tick these days. I heartedly recommend the CD- and this is not a paid advertisement!

  • Beautiful and strong

  • @promosounds your so right !!

  • Had the privelige to see the legandary Glen last wednesday (19thoct) at the BBC radio theatre in London. What a great night, superb voice & guitar playing from the man himself, and what a lovely family backing him too.

Such a shame about his Alzheimers, but still can hold an audience in the palm of his hand. We love ya Glen

  • GREAT SONG

  • It,s hard to comment on "perfection"

  • Quality...

  • He's been around all my life. I remember the car my parents had and I was small listening to Wichita Lineman, can still smell the leather seats. Now my boy's in the back listening to this.

  • @jacksdad06 My kids are the same. :-) For some reason, they've taken a particular liking to Southern nights, and insist on requesting the youtube with the lyrics, so they can learn them all. I think it's brilliant because I know that they'll have the same 'real' music memories that I have, instead of Rhianna and 50 cent like most kids.

  • I still love his voice..just like when I first saw him on The Smother's Brothers" Ditto on the 7 seven heartless.

  • What a legacy to leave behind. I work with people who have Alzheimer's. I wish the best for him and his family.

  • This is incredibile! Glen and his family were on Ellen today Oct. 12,2011. It was awesome to hear him sing. His children backed him up on their musical instruments.

  • Very sad to be losing such a great talent. Reminds me of my father.

  • What a wonderful, beautiful song by Paul Westerberg.

  • Great song to finish out a great career. Props to both Campbell and Westerberg.

  • this is such a fab song.It is a great beat and i love the orchestra sound mixed in i love this song

  • @promosounds 7 people are wankers !!

  • Such a touching song, like a ghost on a camp bed....

    Truly magical

  • A Brilliant follow up to Walls.Glen has it in Spades and Feels every Chord AND Breathes life into every word.An artist of true wisdom and craft.Ghost on a canvass is Glens Reality and Reality Is Glen Portrayed upon our Hearts AND Souls.Love is Love xxx Love is Life...LOVE I LOVE YOU.XX

  • What a very very beautiful song & only Glen Campbell could sing it with so much meaning & heart? Very very well done Glenn? Take care & god bless (you) always.

  • Wow, real music production, professionally crafted.

    Accept no substitutes!

  • He is absolutely one of the greatest musicians . Great voice, great guitarplayer. A genius, a legend. I`m very happy that I`ve had the opportunity to follow hiss brilliant career. And, I can only agree with ejane4, of course there will be GRAMMYS. Lots of them !

  • So good!!!!

  • Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter in to the joy prepaired for you before the world began. Glen, I hope our father lets you give us a concert in the new earth when all of this is over. You are greatly loved by Multitudes. Jesus has already taken care of all of our mistakes. It's the end of the journey that counts, not the beginning. HIS own righteousness has been imputed to you by The Father Himself. NOTHING can or will separate us from HIS love. Jim T.

  • lovely song, just lovely

  • Great song... Don't miss the chance to see him live if you can. I did in June before his Alz. diagnosis and even then, sitting in the audience, I knew I was watching a legend. Great voice and guitarist.

  • Glen's farewell cd is brilliant...........the more I listen to every track, the more meaning comes through.

Get your suit ready, Glen.............You will be the star of the Grammys!!!!

  • my favorite singer ...my whole family love him, what a wonderful voice .Dear Glen hi from Pakistan : )

  • @holysinner72 so good to hear he is loved around the globe! .... im in Australia. whole family love him too..... @AdairCty I have seen him live in 2009....im only 17 but this is my favourite type of music! =D

  • Glen Campbell is one of those artists who serves as a landmark for my life itself. We have been losing these great artists, and each one that goes away is a great loss. I will miss you very much, Mr. Campbell.

  • GHOST ON THE CANVAS---HAAH!!!! HIS GHOST WILL BE HOVERING OVER US FOR THE REST OF OUR DAYS. THOSE OF US WHO WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HEAR HIS SONGS WILL NEVER FORGET HIM. HIS SONG "WITCHITA LINEMAN" WAS THE VERY FIRST SONG I HEARD IN THE USA WHEN I RETURNED FROM MY 1ST TOUR IN VIET-NAM. IT STILL RINGS IN MY MIND AND IN MY EARS. GONNA GET TO SEE HIM AT THE PARAGON CASINO IN 2 MORE NIGHTS. AT LAST!

  • So glad he did this, what a shame he has alzheimer's disease, have a great retirement Glen - you've earned it!

  • Nice song... Witchita Linesman will always be one of my favourites.

  • @DantheSamurai I have been looking for this for ages and was delighted to finally find it!

  • Brilliant..best track of 2011..by a long way..people dont know indeed..christ education needed for the masses..

  • Thanks for all the great music, Glen!

  • legend! nuff said.

  • I knew I loved this song from the very first time I heard it. Thank you Mr. Campbell!

  • A true artist with a gifted voice.

  • I ride a harley across route 66 etc. And when i ride the deserts. Me and my lady on the back sing Glen songs :-) I live in England.

  • The world is a worse place with progress. It makes us too concieted, to far up our own arses. Where have all the dreamers gone!

  • @abrokenframe82

    So true!

  • Most importantly...that voice.

  • Everything about this song is right...lyrics, melody, orchestration and most I portantly

  • this man has a great tone to his voice

  • @promosounds make that 7, but who cares............there will always be trolls. No worries, This is the album of the century.

  • RESPECT..........................

  • true genius of our time and i'm sure glen would give a huge nod to the master .... mr jimmy webb !!!!

  • simply awesome!!!!!

  • what is there not to like about this record????? or about the man himself??

  • Does anyone know what the morse code message is at the start please?

  • @Eskimo256 I just took it as a nod of respect to `Wichita lineman`.

  • wot a brill track , my mum has alzheimers and its such a cruel illness ... god bless glen

  • BEST SONG EVER!

  • There's always been something about Glen Campbell... and we will search for why we think he is so magnetic. He just is. We'll never know why.

    And that's fine with me.

  • What a great talent!

  • Lefsetz recommended and I'm glad he did. Great lyrics. Great to hear his mellow voice again.

  • lefsetz sent me. Thanks Bob. Great tune

  • WOW !!!!

  • Since I first heard the album, "Gentle on My Mind" , Glen Campbell has earned my deep respect as a great musician & vocalist. Through the years he has yet to disappoint me with the great selections he has given us, such as all those Jimmy Webb masterpieces and now "Ghost on a Canvas" ! Glen Campbell is consistently a brilliant artist ...Thanks for the best Glen!.... Allen Goff - The Fried Greenz

  • @DantheSamurai Every bloody day mate... it got so that if I somehow missed it on Radio 2 I had to play it myself when I got home from work or my day would feel empty.

  • Feels like the end of an era in the music world!!

  • its a shame that it will be his last album, due to his illness x love this song and he is very brave :)

  • its a shame that it will be his last album, due to his illness x love this song and he is very brave :)

  • Wichita Lineman was a hit when i was in my teens and every time I hear it I am taken straight back to happier times , and hearing Glen sing this seems hauntingly like the a ghost from my past . I really love this song

  • @DantheSamurai many times!

  • @promosounds I think you will find there are 6 people with a gaping hole in their lives.

  • Amazing song, amazing artists, he may have Alzheimers but it is very treatable these days, we will see Glen perform again, this is NOT his swan song, he will be bac k

  • Thanks for uploading this great song. I heard Glen interviewed today on Smooth radio (UK) and he sounded very good. I wish him well. He is truly one of the "great" Country singers.

  • 5 people really dont know music or life or anything that really matters

  • PLease donate to Alzheimers charity for Glen. This can happen to any of us.

  • This is the great goodbye. The saddest thing. A Massive Thank You to this man for all the great songs.

  • superb, going to see him in newcastle in october, cant wait :-)

  • This song is awesome , thanks Glen

  • What a wonderful video upload. I loved this song. Thank you and thanks to Elaine (LadyMyrddin) who kindly shared. God Bless you both. ♥

  • I love this song, it gives me goose bumps.......God look after you Mr Campbell, you gave the world such beauty.

  • @DantheSamurai my busdriver puts this on every morning. :D

  • love this song nice one

  • I thank God for artists like you and music like this.

  • Glen, it has been wonderful having a great performer like you around!!

  • great song , true master , so much truth in his words

  • A heart breaking and beautiful song, sung by a true music legend.

  • @rschuldt: thank you for your opinion. I don't know another on the planet who agrees with you. Does that tell you something? Your poor dear.....

  • Aye Glen sure was Daddy music. He was a good ol' cowboy and the best Texas Ranger - miles better than Matt Damon. I think Glen, like a few other originals, symbolised the last days of personal culture ie people creating a lifestyle from necessity. Now culture is manufactured and recycled - you can buy it and don't require a personality either. Great to have lived through those days for sure :-)

  • Great song - Good luck Glen

    love BF x

  • What a great song and so well sung. Slow the illness down.....

  • A song that moves me to tears...love Glen Campbell since i was six or seven and listened to my Dads records. Now at 47 i still love those songs and now this great song and album. Brilliant

  • @amribex I'm 41 and although I don't actually remember Glens songs being released, they must have always been there on the radio in the background as a kid. It was only when Youtube came out that I listened to Wichita Lineman by accident and I was showered in memories of childhood. It was then that I started listening to a whole load of other stuff I'd not known about, and I'm a HUGE fan. I'm really looking forward to him coming to Wales in October....sort of. :-(

  • @looking4ferdy I will hopefully get to see him at Salfords Lowrey in October...will be a genuine bittersweet experience. My Dad died 11 years ago and Glenn Campbell and his songs are indelibley linked with my memories of him so im sure i will enjoy the concert while blubbing like a baby. Hope when he gets to Wales you too have a great time watching a master of his art.

  • @amribex Awww that's very, very sad. :-( When songs have such direct poignant meaning, it's doubly sad. I hope you get to catch the gig. Although I'm dreading it, I could never miss it and taking lots of tissues as it will no doubt be a tearful one.

  • @amribex Did you catch the gig?? What a great guy he is. Made light of his mishaps...(which made it easier for the fans) but I still sobbed my heart out during wichita, Phoenix and when it was over. :-(

  • @looking4ferdy hello...as you rightly say a great man indeed.some of the songs were almost too hard to listen to as they took me back to times spent with my Dad and for that i will always be so grateful for Glenn and his music.Rhinestone Cowboy however was mine and friends drunken end of night sing along song in the Kings Arms in Manchester..i guess thats was music is,a time machine to retouch with our memories. A concert to remember and i am priviliged to have been there. Thank you Mr Campbell

  • @amribex I'm 51; when I was seven or eight my parents gave me the Gentle on my Mind LP for my birthday. I still have it. (Love that cover of "Crying".

  • Cannot believe this album has only charted at #27 in the UK!?!?!?

  • I would love someone to upload Any Trouble from this BRILLIANT and Grammy award winning album....

  • So sounds so typical of Glenn..what a wonderful voice! Have dug out his old album with all his hits on Wichita Lineman, Rhinestone Cowboy etc. Reminds me of my dad who loved him. The orchestrations are fab also..So sorry to hear about the Alzheimer's, so sad....

  • i was so wanting to see him on this tour but he's not coming close to us. I just love his music.

  • I love , and pray for you Glen Campbell. Your brother in Jesus, Jim

  • This is such a great song!! my Granddad died of Altzieners and this always gets me, great Well done Glenn, God Bless.

  • Glen has more talent than any of the prepackaged, autotune, non instrument playing "artists" than all the crap on UK radio today.

  • @davidn87 amen to that!

  • New CD! I am loving it! Way to go Glenn!

  • das good song yah

  • BRILLIANT album. Glen has opened his heart and soul; I have never heard a more poignant collection of music.

God Bless you, Glen. And thank you for the music of a lifetime.

  • This is an amazing song, and Mr. Campbell does it full justice.

  • god bless you glen....wonderful song..just got your new cd. looking forward to listening to it ...

  • The name of this album is so biitersweet.

  • so sad about him now having alzheimers disease, but it seems for now he can still bring it. God bless him.

  • Super CD.
