My Mum was a nail technician, and she says that she doesn't recommend putting acrylic in your mouth no matter how long it's had to set. She says that it stays toxic. Just a heads up. :c

@1990Animegurl actually ur mom is incorrect the monomer is the only toxic thing not the powder . the monomer evaporates in no time so its not a problem... actually im a dentist and i use acrylic teeth all the time , temporarly ofcourse bec.they r fragile ,until the porcelain ones are ready . so i assure u its safe dont worry :) but becareful not to swallow it :))

Possibly an alternate way to shap the acrylic is using the monomer and a paint brush...its what they use when you get fake nails to shape it to your nail bed....jus any idea though!

buy acrilic powder in a dental supply shop in the number 63 or 62 the gloves are not necesary, it makes difficult, unless your skin it's too delicate there wont be toxic for your hands, instead of using a plastic bowl to make the mix use a glass bowl and when you finish your fangs put them into a a plastica bag and close it! wait for 30 min or less and you can put them (source: im a dentist :D) no need to wait for 3 days

that's a lot of work for only 1 set of fangs!!! If you're going through all that trouble anyway, you may as well just cast a full impression, with multiple fangs/jagged teeth, etc...

If you DON'T have the materials listed, and only want one set of fangs, simply go to your local halloween shop and pick up a set of Scarecrow Fangs.  They look awesome and will save you about 3 days worth of waiting to use them.

you can get the stuff you need quite cheep from your dentist when you ask him in a lovely way ^^" most of them don´t have a problem to give you some (sometimes also for free). If you just want to try the sculpting of the fangs before you start, use plasticine for the molding. You can get rid of it quite easy. Theres even a way to get some colour in it. But forgot the name of it ^^" sorry. Good video btw ^^" simple, so anyone can do it at home ^_^ love it!!

2:38 looks like ur missing some teeth on the right side.. a half toothless vampire? thats odd... and for the acylic and monomer.. the asians dip there brush into the liquid then put it in the powder. then put it on the nail well in ur case teeth mold. and make the shape they want and just keep adding more until its the shape u want.. just becuz it settles so fast.

I have made my own fangs with acrylic ( the liquid and powder you suggested ) I am a nail tech so I have a lot of experience with this. When using sculpy clay for the impressions you dont have to pour the liquid around it all only to cut it off later. just fill it up and cover the entire opening. No matter what method you use to work the acrylic be it brush or fingers try not to get it up to high on the gum line. Soak the fangs in coffee or tea so they arent to white.

i took clay and molded it around mi teethand put it on a wire and made them sharp and i mut it in sum hard stuff fr a couple min then let them dry fr lik 10 min and they trund out really smooth and and then i painted them the color of my teeth and they turned out perfect

Nice video! I've been experimenting for a halloween party and hadn't thought to see how other people had done it. I've used a silicone moulding putty called siligum and an epoxy putty called miliput for the teeth. I agree that plaster of paris is too weak for the cast but it did have the advantage of being dirt cheap and I could pick it out of the fang with ease using a dentists pick. If you sculpt the acrylic under water as it cures, it gives u a bit more working time and it will not stick to your hands. You can actually shape them in this stage if you get good enough with practice.
