SNES is better than the GBA by a longshot. The SNES version was darker, creepier, and the music was so much better. With the green lights going, the Rock Krocs red eyes scared the piss out of me when I was a child. Stop and Go Station... SNES FTW
it,s a good game for on the road, has some improvements and new extra,s
but the music, sound could had been done much better,as it,s sound more like falsh, fake and even not in stereo shame!!!
the graphics looks good on the dark& backlicht screen, but playing it on the gba,sp with frontlicht, you will discover that the colors looks way toooo oversaturated.
To be honest, the version for Gameboy colour looked way better than the Gameboy advanced version. Basic graphics works better when done right than a just slightly updated version. They couldn't come close to super nintendo graphics anyway...
I think the GBA version deserves more credit. I'm not saying it's better than the SNES version, but it really isn't that bad. The music here in Stop & Go Station is almost as good as the SNES version. The graphics don't suck. They are the same as the SNES version (use ACM), just brighter. And most importantly, the gameplay is the same. And at least here the music isn't redone (like GBA DKC3) and it doesn't go overboard with the extras.
IMO, the GBA version deserves a rating of AT LEAST 7/10.
On the one hand, the graphics seem crisp clear, that level is very colourful (it looks good), as in the past on old TV sets it could be an annoying problem with (lacking) brightness, even if an ON/OFF barrel was hit.
On the other hand, the darker tone on the SNES one made this level really creepy.
So I'm undecided which one looks better, when it comes to those darker levels.
If someone in your family really did program did you really expect people to believe you without video proof lol, honestly thats like saying I'm related to Travis Barker or Omarion....
Sweet run, well played! This level STILL freaks me out, even on the slightly brighter GBA version..oh well. You can do the speedrunnin', I'll do the "OH SHIT DON'T TOUCH ME CROC BITCH"in'. 8D
Yeah, I've played the GBC version, but I don't have it. I think SNES > GBA > GBC. The GBC version had weird physics and hit detection issues, and the screen was way too tiny.
I am sort of new to Donkey Kong Country... How do you run so fast and jump so high?
Pls respond, thx.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think in this version you can kill Rockkrocs with the Hand Slap... Oh, and, Rockkrocs are creepy in the GBA, huh? O_O
GoldenYoshi1 4 months ago
The colors are brighter because the screen on the original GBA didn't light up.

Really how do you record these videos from gba?! It'll really nice to know : )

They made it too bright IMO, but I guess they had to do that because the GBA would be too hard to see if they used the original lighting.

This is pretty close to SNES donkey kong games on a hand held. Never owned a GBA. Might have to get one to play this game and more.

This version isn't that good. The red eyes of Rockrocs use to scare me to death, now you can hardly see them.

easy now gba isnt the same as snes so it couldnt handle all the graphic effects
that was the case with the super mario advance
3:yoshis island, gba couldnt handle all those super fx chip effects so the game looks a little uglier but its still good

I like the moaning sound that the Rockrocs make when curling themselves into a ball in this version.

this version is better than the snes version. but the gba ports of the other 2 games aren't as good as their snes counterparts.

I od love teh music from this version though, for some reason the map music gives me more nostalgia then the actual game it self!
