No unless you master reset. If you upgrade to Mango, you have the ability to simply delete either from the phone, or through Zune when your phone is connected.
this is what happens everytime i try to extract the files to install windows phone developer tools what does this message me "visual studio setup cannot run in capalibility mode" what does that mean
Update to Mango. Alot easier to install ringtones that way. I've got a video on how to do that as well. If you want to try this way, then do this. If your not running XP and are on Vista or 7, right click on the file and select"run as administrator". That might help out. As far as extracting files, you don't have to extract anything. Just click on the link for the Windows Phone Developer Tools in the info section, download the .exe file and double click it to run
this is important i need to know exactly where did you go to download the application deployer because i have the custom ringtone installer and its telling me to intall the windows application deployer. Do i need anything along with the appication deployer please help
What do you mean? Its a video I threw together awhile back on how to do custom ringtones on a Windows Phone 7. If its not helpful, then check my other videos. I have a more detailed two-video tutorial on how to do the custom ringtone process.
umm the link on the chevron mp3/ wma/ ogg isnt working so what am i suppose to do from there? i really need help the link keeps redirecting me to google.
You just have to download the phone developer tools software that is included in a link in the video description and use the application deployment tool that is included to deploy the .xap files to the phone. The software is free to use. I have never spent any money doing this.
This is not a scam. There is no $100 fee to do this hack. You only pay $99 to Microsoft if you want your phone legitimately developer unlocked. Every one of the programs needed to do this are free to download and use. The only scam going on is that you know what your talking about, which is apparent you don't. And Samsung doesn't really need your support. They have the support of millions. Why not be like the rest of the "sheep" out there and go get an iPhone?
It's a scam. He makes it look like you are legitimately hacking your phone BUT what this guy doesn't tell you is that at the very end you need to pay a $100 membership fee to be able to send things to your phone through the developer tool... so essentially you are paying $100 for a ringtone. The reason for the lame ringtones are so you get irritated enough to go and pay the $100 to "hack your phone"... very smart of them, but it's definitely the last time I buy or support Samsung.
hey riden2lo umm well i did everything u said and right when i thought i had it somethin came up saying i wasnt connected to zune when i was, my phone was even in airplane mode when starting it up, please respond im tired of these lame ringtones on my focus

I have the Samsung focus for at&t and I would like to know have anybody downloaded ringtones from the free sites(myxer, funformobile, etc). I've tried, no luck!!
Unfortunately this only applies to ringtones right now. You should watch my two part video on doing custom ringtones. Its a little bit more detailed. Check out my videos.
I now have all the links included in the info section. Sorry about A/V quality. I shot everything with the shitty camera on my old Samsung Impression. It was all I had available at the time.
How do you go about removing the custom ringtones once you have them on the phone? Is it possible?

Have you figured out how to get around the mms problem for unlocked focus phones?
micahsantos 6 months ago
@micahsantos
What problem is that?
Ridn2Lo 6 months ago
@Ridn2Lo its when you unlock a focus, for some reason the phone will allow you to do everything except send mms messages.
micahsantos 6 months ago
@micahsantos
Do you mean carrier, or network, unlocked? If so, I havn't had that issue because is still locked to At&t.

Cool. Why don't you explain how to get past that point instead of getting defensive.
