Because then it'll be very difficult to see what notes I actually pressed on the keyboard, as my other fingers would be covering the keys everywhere.

Hi, this is a tutorial already. :) Perhaps what you can do is download it and then replay it on a player (e.g., MS Media Player) that can slow the video down. That should help.
