  • I believe Mary could have had a good life if Henry hadn't torn everything good she ever got from her. I feel bad for her really

  • 1:22 thru 1:32 is sooo beutiful

  • Awwww wittle mary she was so nice befire she was bad

  • God bless Queen Mary full of grace!

  • I would never let that disgusting guy at 1:08 get anywhere near my daughter.

  • Mary Tudor is my favorite character, aside from her mother, in The Tudors. She was the only true heir to the throne of England.

  • You rock on Mary! You were more royal than Anne was anyday. Can u imagine, being born a princess and told that you are no longer one cause your father wants a son, when there was no law in England stating that a woman could not rule?

  • As a Greek, I salute Catherine of Aragon, the Princess of Spain, and her daughter, Mary I. The courage, grace and passion of the Mediterraneans forever!

  • Last week when I was in the supermarket I heard this song playing and I thought of this tribute to Mary and I actually started crying.

  • This is really you, Skyffable? :O

  • at 0:18 is she in the tower plz tell me

  • Hail Queen Mary full of grace!!

  • i feel bad for the entire tudor history....the father royally F'd up by divorcing catherine(which was totally unfair) and anne boleyn was horrible to mary. if we look back into her traumatic past, we can see why she became bloody mary (what she did was still very wrong tho). anne boleyn had a sad history too, being forced by her father to become the king's prostitute. she took it too far when she had ambitions to become queen tho...the whole thing is sad. and poor mary was stuck in the middle.

  • @imapandaperson Maybe the worst thing was when Mary became queen she thought she was pregnant and it ended up being like a cancer

  • @savetheanimals411 yea...she didn't even have a chance to enjoy life:(

  • I am SO jealous of Sarah Bolders AMAZING acting... she's my role model...

  • I hate Henry for making mary fanatic and cruel

She would have been such a good queen

I hope god forgive her sins

    I LOVE YOU MARY

    Thank you for uploading this

  • totally my favourite charcter of this show =D

  • And if he really loved her, then why did he never try to get her married, he was so bussy getting a male heir that he never thought on his own dauther economical future.

  • excelente vídeo

  • 3:10 is so touching!!

I cried so hard by watching this moment...wow! I thought: "Oh my God, Mary's there to see her mother one last time!!" and then...it was just a dream.

    Really cried so hard.

    Amazing vid! Love the series!

  • Oh, I think that I´ll watch this show because of her. :))

  • @yinloveyang I mean I watched the first season but I´ll watch it from the beginning to the end again.

  • sooo sad, beautifully made! xxx

  • Mary 1st has had bad press. She wanted to undo mistakes of her father - even more those who surrounded her brother Edward VI. She is called 'Bloody Mary' - but her father killed Roman Catholics by their thousands - Elizabeth I too. That is a whitewashed version of UK history. Mary wanted to return Britain to its roots - bu fate disabled her to produce a successor. Elizabeth the 'Virgin' queen similarly failed to produce - so we had the Stuarts (and what a shower they were). a civil war etc

  • It is very inspiring.

  • Why are so many of the actors in this Irish?

  • @Scoob505 It was filmed in Ireland so it makes sense to get actors near by

  • This song is beautiful!!! that's what Mary wanted her entire life. Love.

  • awesome video! What episode is the first clip from??

  • beautiful video. but what is this song?

  • @katherynkae91 Its "dont give up (you are loved)"

  • from what epsisode is the first clip from? and do you have it? 0:03-0:06

  • According to the chronicles Henry VIII really took care of his children the illigitimate ones as well as the ligitimate ones.

  • I find it strange that henry obviously loved his daughter in the beginning he absolutely doted on her and then as soon as he divorced katherine of aragon he just abandoned her. He was a strange man

  • @Lovemusic15009 I'm in no way at all sure of the history, but part of this could be a power play. To me, he was still evil to Mary, but she was a connection to England and to Spain - and her maternal heritage was powerful. Still, I am going on very little to hardly any knowledge.

  • wirklich großartig ..video, lied und serie

  • Elizabeth 1 is my favourite monarch of all. But I also like Mary Tudor. I dont understand why people take sides. Mary Tudor killed people in the name of religion (300 protestants)- and its understandable looking at her childhood. Elizabeth did not. Although during Elizabeth's reign more catholics died, it was not because of their religion but because they had broken the law or were a threat to national security. Elizabeth was religiously tolerent for the 16th century. Thats the difference.

  • Quite frankly the whole family was fucked up. And if you ask me a lot of that could've been avoided if Henry been a man. And I being a man I mean not acting so freak'n childish. Like the saying goes, its all fun and games until someone loses an eye, or in the Tudors' case, many lives.

  • @BorgUnimatrix Under Elizabeth I, the penalty for simply attending a catholic mass was death, so to say catholics were not killed for their religion is historical whitewashing. More common people and priests died for their religious beliefs under her reign than were executed during the 300 years of the Inquisition...about 3,000. Protestants killed by Mary I were not common folk but powerful "reformers" who would have gladly seen her dead.

  • @BorgUnimatrix

And the killing of Protestants under the reign of Mary was not for national security purposes? The Dudleys, Greys and Wyatts? Remember, 300 Protestants were executed in a country that was already overwhelmingly Protestant. If Mary was so intent on eradicating Protestants, she would have proceeded at a much quicker pace. For her part, Elizabeth killed thousands of Catholics in a country whose Catholic population had already dwindled due to conversions. I call that a genocide.

  • @BorgUnimatrix yes sure...Elizabeth the "saint" com on! I have to say the protestants are genius making propaganda and washing braines..even today to invent wars

  • I agree. I used to be pro Anne, but when I studied how she treated Mary, that blew any sympathy I had for her out of the water. Anne was on the same level as Hitler, IMO. If Anne had been nicer to Mary, she wouldn't have hated Protestants. So, ANne killed the Protestants,a nd not Mary.

  • @evaperonfan

Did you seriously just say Anne Boleyn was on the same level as Hitler??? Ha! Whether Anne was nasty or nice to Mary has little relevance to what Mary actually did. If we're gonna lay blame on someone for Mary's actions then blame Henry.

  • Well, Anne didn't help. She was downright nasty to Mary and Catherine, and she ordered Henry to burn down the nunneries and monostaries. She caused great social strife when she split England from Rome. Mary was just trying to make England Catholic again, and I applaud her for it. I have no love for Elizabeth I either.

  • @BorgUnimatrix Anne want to kill Mary and Katherine because she was afraid of them..even Henry talks about how dangeorus could be Katherine and Mary together. He thougth Katherine could get an army ( like her mother Isabel I of Spain) and detrned him to crown Mary..the legitimate heiress

  • Wonderful video! I really liked the song you used too!

  • Scene 2:00 is very powerful. I don't know why it affected me so...

  • What the name of this song? I think its fits the mode. I love how Its supposed to be Henry talking to his daughter, Mary!

  • Comment removed

  • poor mary

she was a really good queen in a lot of ways, but her memory has been damaged by the murder of protestants and by Elizabeth i

nobody remembers all the catholics killed by elizabeth and other kings

  • Brilliant!

  • Did'nt they called princess Mary for: "Bloody Mary"?

  • they did later when she became queen. she had a lot of people killed because of their beliefs. but considering how terrible her childhood was its no wonder that she became a bitter adult. i feel sorry for her.

  • I still watch this vid all the time =]. It's a pick me up.

  • Me too :-)

  • I think both Catherine & Anne was avenged except Catherine was avenged in all the wrong ways when Mary I became known as "Bloody Mary"

  • Last week I was in the supper market and I heard this song. I started thinking about Mary and I started crying!

  • What song?

  • @Nagaira1987

Its called " You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) by Josh Groban

  • I LOVE MARY

  • @poroshnyj

Do you love the Protestant purges also?

  • I think he loves the actress not the actual character xD

  • @Aneasthetised and the catholics purges..were right?

  • @Aneasthetised

Still paled in comparison to the Elizabethan purges of Catholics that numbered so many times more.

  • the song name is ,,you are loved (don´t give up) by josh groban. you can download it on iTunes :)

    great video

  • it is josh groban

  • Who's the artist? (I know it's not Groban so :D)

  • i don't understan it!?

  • This video is so amazing! major Kudos... No one understands poor Mary's childhood, and when people think of her reign they automatically think "Bloody Mary" which is so unfair, and not really true, look at her father! I believe that Henry really did love Mary, and after the third season of the Tudors it's prety obvious he does love her.

  • @EmmasNext Then why did he treat her so bad and denied her from seeing her own mother. Henry was a cruel egotistical selfish prick. Mary, Elizabeth, and Edward deserved better.

  • @EmmasNext I think he felt guilty because his selfish careless antics caused to much pain and hurt for Mary and her nice and regal mother. Katherine died alone and was forbidden to see her own daughter. Who would orchestrate that but a monster? The so called love he shows for her is nothing but respect because of the poise, character, and strength Mary showed throughout the whole ordeal. She was definitely her mother's daughter.

  • @EmmasNext i know you wrote this a year ago but I just had to say.... what does the third season of the Tudors have anything to do with real history. It's one of the most inaccurate portrayals ever. You realize that they made up alot of stuff on there, right? it just seemed in your comment as if you believe because it was on the Tudors, then it must be true. Anyways, take care

  • @Nicollie1062 Being a history major I do indeed know that the Tudors is historical fiction. It's my own interpretation of history that has lead me to believe that Henry did repent his actions against her and did indeed feel very guilty about the way he had treated her. This is clearly shown when Henry restores both of his daughters to the line of succession.

  • @EmmasNext I'm afraid it is true, look up the Marion Persecutions where she had almost 300 men and women burned at the stake.

  • @FellowTownsman yes, she did kill people. Every monarch back then did. My point is Henry had many more people killed than Mary did.

  • @EmmasNext oh..no, no no Elizabeth was a "saitn" she only kill people for the good of England and its poeple!! come on! only Mary was bloody the resto of tudors and monarchs in XVI centruy were compasive..

    Don`t talk with fundamentalistic protestants

  • @EmmasNext I very much agree that Mary is by far one of the more misunderstood rulers of England, and she gets a very bad reputation. And yes I do agree that Henry did in some way love her, but that in no way excuses what he put her through or what he did to her. I don't care what time you're from, that is your flesh and blood, regardless of gender. And I find it a cruel joke of fate that her half sister, the product of a whore and homewrecker, is so venerated.

  • @EmmasNext

It really is unfair that Mary got the "Bloody" title for many reasons. People forget that she was the first English queen (at least I think so) to rule in her own name. There were many other things she did (GOOD things) that history has forgotten.

  • @PiperFreeze06 I think the First Queen was Queen Maude. Of the 11th Century. That's the main reason why the English at first had a great fear of having a female ruler. Not because she was incompetent but because many male powers wanted to take the throne for themselves.

That period was known as 'The Anarchy'. And there was also the War of the Roses thing.

  • 3:27,Mary showed her mother's poise right there! She made Anne Boleyn look like a complete putz.

    Great vid!

  • @Kitty273 E

Mary lived the rest of her life in dignity as well, aging gracefully, remaining pious, dying a married woman (something she had always wanted to be), saying that she could see children welcoming her into Heaven. Elizabeth could never make any decisions without deferring to her male advisors, yet she is seen as a feminist icon. She acted like a loose flirt with English and foreign suitors alike, and died a lonely old crone with cake makeup and Bozo the Clown wigs to look young.

  • @ligreekguy Apparently, you don't understand Elizabeth. Watch the movie 'Elizabeth' with Cate Blanchett, and then we talk again.

  • @xGerdine

I did see it, so what is your point? Talk about a Hollywood watered down version. Mary is depicted in Part I as a fat, clownish and ugly fool (she was actually quite thin, very reserved and, though not a great beauty, comely looking despite all her tragedies). This movie so idealized Elizabeth, it was pathetic, to the point where SHE actually replaces the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, as the object of English veneration! You fell for this crap? There is no need to talk!

  • @ligreekguy I see there's no need to talk. (: You still don't understand the movie. And I actually referred to when you say that 'She acted like a loose flirt with English and foreign suitors alike, and died a lonely old crone with cake makeup and Bozo the Clown wigs to look young.' When someone say such things, they don't understand the movie/Elizabeth.

  • @ligreekguy I know right? I didn't watch Elizabeth: the golden age or the first one. It's typical British Anti-Catholic propaganda/crap. I really do feel sorry for any Catholic raised in England. The way the population has been totally brainwashed into believing Elizabeth was tolerant, when in fact she was at times even worse than her father. Hey Brits, do some research. Even Protestant/secular authors have written in present times about Elizabeth's bigotry and intolerance.

  • @xGerdine why would watching a Hollywood movie ever make anybody understand something about history... all it is, is a movie. I would rather read real history books by known historians and get my information there or take a history course in university than watch a hollywood movie that makes up stuff as it goes along.. Elizabeth the movie is such a joke.

  • @Nicollie1062 I love watching history movies, made by Hollywood or whatever. It gets me interested for stories like Elizabeth and Mary Tudor. The Tudors-series got me interested for the real story, so I read it. I love history. So, I watch the movies and if they get me interested, I read the whole, real story. Nothing wrong about that. And by the way; Why could Hollywood not make a history-movie? I mean, some stories are exciting enough to make a movie or series about it, such as the Tudors.

  • @xGerdine alison weirs books are amazing and linda porter on Mary I for the real history

  • @ligreekguy 'She acted like a loose flirt with English and foreign suitors alike, and died a lonely old crone with cake makeup and Bozo the Clown wigs to look young.'

    And green teeth! yuck!

  • Great video! Can you tell me who sang this version of You Are Loved?

  • Henry! ;) No I did.

  • Josh Groban

  • No, this is not Josh Groban but thanks :)

  • @Skyffable yes he is...come man!!! are you deaf ???

  • @SMT5614 it was josh groban

  • Thank-you. Its such a beautiful song!!

  • Wonderful video! Love this song, I know Josh Groban's version....

  • I love this song, could you tell me the title? X

  • Dont give up is the title :D

  • You are loved (Don't give up)....

  • I love the character of Mary, especially those polite little curtsies she gave Anne Boelyn. Just poised and respectful enough to silently say "F**K you, sister!"

  • What is this song called

  • don't give up ( you are loved)

  • great :D

  • thanks for this video XDDD...it helps me very much when was really hard...

  • you do know why she became cruel right! it's all Henry's fault. Mary was raised catholic and she had strong feelings for it. She thought she was just doing what her mother would have wanted restore the catholic faith she just went about it the wrong way.

  • Comment removed

  • The name "bloody Mary" was made up some fifty years after her death by Protestant propagandist Foxe.

At that time having people executed was sadly normal fair. The Great Elisabeth killed scores herself as most european monarchs.

  • learn to spell. mmmhmmm. bye.

  • hm, i think it is very clear to understand, why she became "Bloody Mary"...The woman, who had grown up in the world full of scheming, hate, fights, in the world without simple feelings, warmth, simple love. The little girl who has just lost her mother, love of her father, was proclaimed a bastard...The woman coming of and living in broken family. She never knew the love of the man, becauce she never really trusted them.LIke Elizabeth I. too. No wonder, after being daughter of such mean man.

  • Great video. I love Sarah Bolger in the role as she brings empathy to Princess Mary. It's a struggle for me for I feel for her in the series yet knowing that she will be known as Bloody Mary leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I hope that you will do one for Elizabeth too!

  • excellent actress to play and tribute a woman who had a very, very cruel and sad destiny...

    Great video!

  • i strangely feel that Mary has a place in Henry's heart... he juz doesn't want her to rebel or fight for the throne when he's gone... that might explain for the cruel separation from her mother and the forced signing of the Act of Succession...

  • Another great woman. All inherited from the mother. No one penetrates the veneer of the daughter of the Spanish princess. Received this great personality. A mixture of courtesy and courage of the father and mother's bravery.

  • damn marys feisty.did you see her eyes when she looked At Anne boleyn. lol

  • wait wait! , what scene did she meet Anne boleyn in.

  • Mid season 2. Before Catherine's death.

  • She was so strong. Awesome kid.

  • How lovely is Maria Tudor, she's daughter of Catalina de Aragon isn't she?

  • Yes, she was the daughter of Queen Catalina of Aragon.

  • Srah Bolger is brill as Mary!!! And she's irish!!!!!!!!!!

  • What sucks is that's about all of her scenes in the entire series, save for season 3.

I really like her. Her behavior is probably the most realistic (as Mary) because of what she went through. I hope she has a lot more to do in season 3.

  • I love this! I have read contemporary reports of Henry 'tearing up' when anyone brought up his daughter Mary even after the estrangement. He was a foolish, stubborn man and sometimes I wonder if at the end of his days he regretted his treatment of Mary-and her mother Katherine.

  • i dont think he regretted anything there might of been a point where he almost

felt sorry for them but never regretted

any of it and stubborn is far to nice a word lol but your right he was

  • Lovely tribute to Mary.

  • Sarah Bogner is a dead ringer for Princess Mary. They look so alike.

  • I have read the young Princess Mary was pretty. Abuse, ill treatment from her own father, and brother (or at least his protectorate) Bitterness and disappointment aged this once promising princess. My heart goes out to Mary over the centuries.

  • this is great i love it im gald someone made one for mary i feel sorry for and he may of loved her but he was so mean to her saying she was a bastard and just calling her lady mary and not leting her see her mother and much more odd way to show your love hnmm he was a bad father but she had a very good mother even if her father didnt allow her to see her mother she knew that

  • What angers me is he treated Mary so shabbily-and his TRUE 'bastard' Henry Fitzroy was treated like a prince in all but name. Henry did truly have a monstrous streak-and had no respect like so many men of his age for females.

  • yes i know it makes me soo mad!

mary was treated very bad and the root of

it wanst anne anne boleyn it was her father

    that cut her the most

  • I agree. Anne would have never dared to treat Mary as anything less than the daughter of a king but for Henry. It was who gave her leave so to speak to write letters to those who had the charge of Mary encouraging her to 'slap' her if Mary dared call herself a princess.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree. I think Anne was driven to that by Henry.

  • i havent seen many mary videos and out of all the ones ive seen this is the best by far!

  • Huzzah for Skyffable!

And in a month season 3!

  • That was a very moving and beautiful video. I think that the girl that plays Princess Mary is pretty. I can't wait till season 3.

  • her name is sarah bolger and she is an irish actress

  • great video!
