  • @ghostladylvl50 Thanks so much for the kind words. Old Time Rock-N-Roll is a great song and a lot of fun to play. Keep up the good work, let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for watching

  • how important is it for drummers to read music i was in a drum corp for 9 yrs i have good hands but feet are slow i cant stand using double peddle

  • @hungwell90 As I'm sure you are well aware, after being in drum corps for 9 years, reading is a must!! If you don't like using a double pedal, don't. There are a lot of great books and DVD's to help develop your foot speed. Check out my book, The School Of Hard Rocks. It has a lot of exercises to help develop your feet and hand, speed and coordination.

    Thanks for watching

    Bart

  • Ya on the original recording it's pretty low in the mix.

    Thanks for watching

    Bart

  • I can't hear any bass drum during "Old Time Rock and Roll".

  • You kinda look like lars. But hey your at least cool. That guy is a douche.

  • @gergreg2883 LMAO!!!! Thanks I guess.

    Thanks for watching

    Bart

  • hi i have a question im the drummer of my band ive been playing for 2 moths now ppl say i got talent but theres a problem i dont have a drum at home and can only play once a week at school could u maybe sugest me a good drum that is affordable for some1 around age 14-15?

  • @salogeo Thanks for the question. I would suggest the Gretsch Catalina Maple. They are great and affordable drums. You can check them out on the Gretsch web site.

Thanks for watching, and happy drumming.

    Bart

  • @bartrobley thanks for the reply :)

i will check it out thanks again

also do u have some tips on how to become big? or at least a bit?

    :)

    Jordi

  • @salogeo I would say to work out and eat right. ; ) Just kidding. The way to achieve anything in the music business is to practice practice practice. Thanks for the question.

    Bart

  • @bartrobley thanks man :) i practise my ass of as much as i can:P

    Thanks for the replies

    jordi

  • sexy snare!

  • @pacificdrumma Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

    Bart

  • That's a great version of Old Time, and I love the Nine Tonight CD. However, for our first two CDs with Titan we tried to stay as close as possible to the original versions of the songs, from Seger's studio recordings. We do have a new acoustic CD of Seger's music coming out Titan any day now, (watch for it on I-Tunes) and it has Old Time with that guitar intro. It's a completely different version, but I think you'll like it. Check it out.

Thanks for the question, and keep rockin'!

    Bart

  • @bartrobley Thanks, I was going to ask if you know the chords for the intro of Old Time (Nine Tonight version) I am wanting to try it out on my guitar.

  • @bartrobley I was going to also ask when does the acousit CD of Seger's music come out?

  • @segerfan It has been uploaded to I-Tunes and should be up for sale any day now. Find me on Facebook and you can watch for updates. I post new things that are happening with the band all the time.

    Thanks

    Bart

  • hey Bart could u get Sam Morrison to do a cover of Old TIme Rock & Roll from Seger's Nine Tonight album? it's the one with the :45 sec guitar intro

  • I like it. I'm not trying to sound like a dick or anything, but a foot cam would be cool.

  • @napalmfred Not at all, thanks for the feedback! Ya know we used a foot cam in a lot of places on that video shoot, but not on this song because it's a just four on the floor. Nothing real fancy. Ya know? Thanks for watching, and I will take your advice under consideration during my next shoot.

    All my best

    Bart

  • @bartrobley Thanks so much for your reply. I liked this video quite a bit. Simple song, but you look like you're having fun. Isn't that what it's all about??

    Cheers!!!

  • @napalmfred Oh ya. It's a great song and very simple to play. Like I always say it doesn't need to be hard to play to be good. Thanks again for watching.

    Bart

  • @Hammerhead786 I Thanks so much for the kind words. Like I said in the video, I read through the chart that comes with my DVD as a demonstration for beginners. I appreciate your opinion. That is the great thing about You Tube, everyone has a voice. Thanks for watching and happy drumming

  • Hey Bart,

Just dropped by the say hello! Nice vids and sound. You are to be commended for the attention you give to the young guns that write to you here on Youtube. The fact that you reply to practically every single one means an awful lot to them, and gives them great encouragement. You are a fine drumming role model, and I wish you continued success.

    My very best regards,

    T.

  • @taytohead WOW!!! Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to be of help to anyone who wants to know about drums and drumming.

    All my best

    Bart

  • It`s great when your drumming is good and you find the equipment and sound you love. Thats why your Gretch drums and Zildjians sound so good.

  • @drumsanddrumming Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. I have since switched to Bosphorus cymbals.Check them out.

    All my best

    Bart

  • @bartrobley I`m sure they are great. Me, I`m a Paiste man. Good stuff also,

  • is that a 15" new beat hi-hat ? sound awsome

  • @j0hnss0n Thanks for the question. No they're a 14" Dark K Custom on the top and Master Sound on the bottom. I have since become a Bosphorus endorser. Now I'm playing the Stanton Moore Fat Hats and I LOVE THEM!!. If you get a chance check them out.

  • I know what you mean. Thanks again for watching.

    Bart

  • i thought you used boshphorus? the crash above the hats is zildjian.

  • Good Eye! Yes the cymbals in this video are Zildjian. I was not on the Bosphorus roster when we shot this DVD. I switched shortly after wards. If you watch some of my more recent posts they are all Bosphorus.

    Thanks for watching

    Bart.

  • hey bart the drums sound awesome i had a tama rockstar but didnt like the heads so i put hydraulic glass heads which sounded really good i love this song ty for putting this video on here sounds good

  • Thanks. I really like that song too. The Tama Rock Stars are great kits. Having new well tuned heads makes all the difference in the world.

My DVD, "The School Of Hard Rocks", has the studio version of the song with the drums taken out. You can also print the drum chart from the DVD.

    Thanks for watching.

    Bart

  • very good I fan's bos seger

  • Thanks so much! I too am a big Seger fan. It's truly an honor for me to play in The Sam Morrison Band, and to do the tribute show.

    Thanks for watching.

    Bart

  • Sorry that I asks but are you actualy reading sheets/notes while you`re playing you all time favorite song??? : )

  • No worries, thanks for the question. Like I said in the video, my DVD comes with this version of Old Time Rock-N-Roll. It has the drums pulled out and a play along chart. I was reading the chart that comes with the DVD.

    Thanks for watching

    Bart

  • Oh yeah... so played like it is in the chart... so it will be easier for the people that has it... and wants to see how it is ment to be played, as in the chart...

Sorry this was messy.... ; )

  • Yes that is correct. No worries, it's not that messy at all. Were are you from?

    Thanks again for watching.

    Bart

  • Hehe thank you ; )

    I`m from Norway! :D

A place called Spydeberg, 5 miles from Oslo.

Norway is great, but drums are expencive here... : (

Well well... I`ll by from eBay :P

    My pleashure ; )

  • what type of aquarians do u use? they sound great.

  • Thanks! The Kick drum is a Super Kick II with no muffling in side the drum. The snare drum head is a High Velocity tuned pretty tight. The toms are Coated Single Ply. I tune the toms a little higher than usual. More like a jazz drummer would to get that nice tone. For more info on set up and tuning, check out my DVD, Drums ASAP, on Centerstream / Hal Leonard.

    Thanks again for watching

    Bart
