I got one of these for Chirstmas and used it so much the first day that I had eye strain and a headache out of this world! I was around 12, I believe! LOL!
If you have a P.C., you should check Google for the TI-99/4A emulator, Classic99. It runs in windows, and turns your P.C. into a virtual TI-99/4A. It includes speech, sound, color graphics and many popular game and application cartridges from the original TI-99/4A. The applications include Extended Basic, Mini Memory and Terminal Emulator II, all of which add speech capability.
scott adams has all his adventures available free on his web site :) so you don't have to just remember :) The TI is alive and well with enthousiasts around the world.. search yahoo for ti-99/4a olug and join us!
Mee too! TI-99/4A busted my cherry 30 years ago.
The speech synthesizer was the bomb! I loved to play the game Parsec.

I had one when I was a kid, one of the "bird brains" blew out, and the powersupply was damaged so we threw it out :(

Man, that's really good speech synthesis for something from the 1980s! That sounds almost human....

Remember the Scott Adams text adventures?
Thank you for posting this. Its petty but its part of the past
I guess this programming now is obsolete, the GoSub and GoTo commands, huh?
Thanks again. Always nice to see a TI-99/4A!
