Great video. I'm a chevy man but I always had a thing for AMX's. Didn't know that 390's could rev that high. When are you going to post some new video?

It is not a 390 the car is a SS/H car a 390 would be a SS/C. The car is a 343 CI car. Hence the high reving.

Sorry HEMI guy, it is a 390 AMC with a single 4bbl Autolite carb which is just a little over 600 CFM. The 1969 AMX's with 2 4bbls on a cross-ram are the SS/C entries.

I did these 4 video's for YouTube just to have them available for friends that can't make it to the track. Between all 4, it looks like this little AMX is approaching 25,000 views! Never thought that would happen, I just wanted a handful of people to see what I do for fun!

Definitely a nice car. I've known a couple of people with AMX's in various configurations, they always ran quite well. Most people forget that Wally booth, and also Dick Maskin were quite competitive in the early years of Pro Stock with AMC powered vehicles.

Thanks for the comments. The car is getting new floorpans amoungst other things right now. Finally figured out the chassis problem. The floorpans have seperated from the factory frame rails.
