  • This is actually Mozart playing the guitar? Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Firstly he's deceased and doubt recording technology of this sophistication was around when he was alive, secondly this was composed by Henry VIII for his soon to be wife Anne Boleyn. Quite some time before Mozart was born.. But you probably knew that anyway.

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • It reminds me my Casio PT-87, jejejejeje

  • The description... Haha, I love you. That's hilarious.

    :)

  • My version in acustic guitar:

    watch?v=LaW40KapBLU

  • Great video. I wish it was in HD.

  • Tres tres beau . Proficiat.

  • Flawlessly played with wonderful expression and emotion.... until it went upbeat... and threw it all away as a disposable pop jingle-jangle. :-)

  • Awkward Henry VIII...

  • i am a hip hop lover but only this song i like

it was when i was in the forth grade and we were doing art

every body had to think about how the tudors felt back in the time

and at that moment every body stared at each other smilng thinking

  • that's when you wish you had a lyre

  • i frickin love your description. oh my gosh. you are my love.

  • oh my God, Mozart was that great that we even adjudicate the greensleaves to him

  • I shall dislike this video because of its stupid title.

  • what key is this in?

  • I BTW would want to believe the desciption....if mozart ACTUALLY played the guitar... i mean really. He only played Clavichord, harpsichord and organ....but nice try though xD

  • Comment removed

  • i want this played at my funeral service :)

  • Sehr schöne Bilder, wirklich !!!

  • I swear ive heard one of the lute guys in Skyrim playing this song!

  • I'm liking the description very much :)

  • link to the tab of this song please.

  • mozart has been dead for years...but good song

  • ultimate. freakin. trolling. Well done man. The ignorance... It burns my eyes!!

  • ''Dans le port d'amsterdam'' by jack brel !!!

  • This music reminds me of times of famine, when people starved to death and gathered around the bard while listening to this melody to somehow forget about the penance of living in times of darkness and ignorance at its peak.

  • @zervver wow that's a poignant comment, actually sent chills up my spine :p

  • they needed it...

  • @zervver

also... are you implying that we aren' t living in the dark ages? look around man :(

  • @pr0hhl No, I'm not implying anything, for I'm not giving dates or ages.

  • @zervver

If you didn't imply then, you meant that we are living in such an age, in which case you wouldn't have had the need to use the word 'remind'... which points to the past... i.e. not the present (or the future)

  • @zervver

man i totally 4got what we were talking about, retrospectively tho i don't think i had a point, just messing with rhetorics (i knw what a waste of time!)... harsh comment tho lol.

  • @zervver

rofl XD who spammed it? my guardian angel?

  • @zervver Shit you remember the english famines?

  • @joeiznang No.

  • @zervver what a miserable outlook

  • @MinorHeadstorm Sure.

  • I looked in your uploaded videos, and did not expect to see Victoria's secret x_X

  • @matthuhew4

    but I love Victoria's Secret :D

  • the guitar wasn't invented at the time Mozart was alive, it was probably the guitar's cousin the lute, or something

  • Nice!!

  • Ooooh realy good

  • this version of Greensleeves is real good

  • This video is so amazing. Such a great work. Wonderfull...and so peacefull. I'm feeling peace. Thank you!

  • Whats “Mozarts” full name?

  • Comment removed

  • @hipepleful His full name was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

  • Comment removed

  • @Pixiewarrior18 just making sure if it was Wolfgang’s dad or not.

  • I wonder if Mozart WAS alive, how much compositions he would of wrote so far…..

  • Mozart actually wrote this piece??

  • @hipepleful Wikipedia says: "Greensleeves" is a traditional English folk song and tune, a ground of the form called a romanesca.

  • @jmikegermany you need to listen to the Celtic version is the 16th century English

  • NO ES DE MOZART! IGNORANTE, ES UNA CANCIÓN TÍPICA DEL SILGO 17, EN INGLATERRA, CREADA SUPUESTAMENTE POR EL REY DE ESAA ÉPOCA ¬¬

  • this is the best greensleeves video I've ever heard!!!!!!! the pictures are really pretty ((((((((((((((((:

  • @Thilindel or putting it in or whatever

  • @Thilindel , people make spelling errors, even if there as big as forgetting a letter t, OH SHIT! I FORGOT THE LETTER T! NOW THE WORLD WILL BLOW UP! ALL BECAUSE I USED AN IPHONE OR NOOK COLOR!

  • Man...that Mozart! Always cheating death, and creating beauty that has lasted as long as his own longevity. Sheesh, I wish I could live uh, like 1/3 the lifespan that this Mozart has!

  • @Thilindel lol! :D

  • this is so funny

  • I thought Mozart was dead??? If he was alive then I think he would be all over the news and stuff??

  • @sirshitsalot007 no shit sherlock

  • @littlemermaid103 keep digging watson

  • @sirshitsalot007 hahahahaha!!!!

  • L.O.V.E. this version .. the brilliance could indeed be from Mozart :D ! :) .... but well ^^ .... Mozart or not, LOVE IT .. well done, such an beautifull piece !

  • Greensleeves was written by henry VIII

  • @LoveMissAll Greensleeves is older than Henry VIII. =3

  • No es de Mozart, por diós!

  • Why is this under Mozart? Greensleeves is an English Folk Song and has nothing to do with Mozart.

  • @garply101 perhaps you are a bit to serieus xD read the top comment please xD ... totally agree with him ...

  • @garply101

Would it be because the person playing the Guitar is called Mozart? Just not the Wolfgang Mozart? :P

  • @Hpyrr328 i HIGHLY doubt that XD

  • @SylVaren

XD It was worth a try~

  • ""Greensleeves," is probably Elizabethan in origin and is based on an Italian style of composition. Henry [Henry VIII] almost certainly did not compose it "

    Wikipedia

  • yep, thats obviously motzart, *eye roll* why did i click on this if it said "motzart greensleeves"

  • @MinecrafterAl Because you just spelled 'mo"T"zart' instead of "mozart?" :P

  • Mozart is my son, if you bag him out ill beat you with a baseball bat!

  • @whatevr192 All Europeans are socialists, stereotypical blindly patriotic rant, holding Americans above all other beings on Earth... Overall, 9/10! An excellent troll, my friend! You might want to do some work on it though. I'd recommend this troll go to /b/ for further analysis. Nice job, though!

  • @garfocusalternate Ah, so it's just AWFUL when I say that Europeans are all socialists, but it's totally fine when someone says all Americans are stupid?

    Hypocrite.

  • @whatevr192 I'll say it's hypocrisy; I'm an American as well. I didn't say all Americans are stupid either, I merely remarked on the fact that some patriots tend to be quite ignorant.

*Scratches a few markings onto paper*

You aren't particularly good at this. You really better get this over to 4chan before I begin lowering your score.

  • @garfocusalternate You don't understand where I'm getting at. I and that other guy were both generalizing, but I was the one that was criticized. Why?

You can put your scoring sheets away now, I'm not a troll.

  • I used to be Mozart before I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @chriswere9 i never thought i'd see a comment as stupid as yours on a video like this one.

  • @ItsRapBoy I wouldn't say any of these comments are particularly intelligent. Chill out. Don't take things so seriously.

  • Greensleeves wasn't composed by Mozart. This is a (very common) misconception, apparently.

  • @tteu123 Whom is the under recognized artist then?

  • @msbarbijean It is not known. Some suggest that it might have been composed by King Henry VIII for one of his wives. As no one knows for sure it is held as a traditional Folk song.

  • je,kan,my,veel,leren,over,klassiek

  • Mozart and I play piano together :P

  • @whatevr192 ask billion of people about usa americans......

  • Comment removed

  • I love this music, congratulations UK. I am from Arequipa

  • My teacher and I are going to play "Greensleeves" in the Christmas concert with violin and piano. I really love it!!!

  • whatevr192 & lovevadimjaclyn ok,boys,ok!

  • @aeliosmaster Your anti-american comment fails.

  • Mozart alive and wrote this? are you an american? cause americans(usa) are stupids....

  • @aeliosmaster It was a sarcastic comment. The person said it was by Mozart as a joke, to trick people.

  • @aeliosmaster humans call this "black humor" no need to be american to do things like this.

  • @aeliosmaster How did this even get thumbs lol? I'm not american, but this comment is just stupid.

  • im fixin to start cying

  • This dates to Shakespeare's time; supposedly it was a favorite of his. It certainly sounds very Renaissance. It has words that begin: "I walked one day 'neath the summer sky and my heart was sad for alone was I; he came my way and I fancied I'd heard the beautiful music of Greensleves."

This was a minor hit by a British group, the Beverly sisters, early 1957 here in the U.S.

  • @philotimos923 ..........an ancient english love ballad.

  • Mozart didn't write this fucktards -__-

  • This version seems so medern. Mozart surely knew what music means!

  • I love that some people are so stupid as to believe that either: a) Mozart is alive, or b) the description is 100% serious.

  • @CGLefty15 I love it too

  • they're retards -__-

  • @CGLefty15 ahaha ikr

  • Yes, Henry VIII is credited for writing this

  • this tale was written many years ago by a certain king Henry maybe the 8th,we used to hang out in high school

  • Comment removed

  • First of all, it can't be Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He has died over 200 years ago. And this isn't his arrangement. Please don't tell things such as those. If it is a musician called "Mozart" it's okay.

  • Does anyone knows who made this version?? I'm searchin' since I heard it maybe 4-5 years ago!

  • Wow i had no idea Mozart was alive. That movie was like 20 years ago and i thought he died.

  • description is the best

  • I didn't know there were recording device in the 17000's ... :)

Thumbs up if you like it even if it's fake.

  • @WeixiLuo It's not fake. Mozart is the nickname of the guy playing it.

  • Oh and Motzart and i are going to see "a very harold and Kumar christmas" this weekend (no heavenly homo)

  • This song was composed by the king Henry the 8th not Mozart where have u study ppl

  • @dazlingahmed actually recent historical evidence suggests that Henry VIII stole it from an Italian man.

  • Comment removed

  • @dazlingahmed.....if you're gonna make comments in English you should probably try learning the language first.lol

  • Mozart spends the holidays with his kids.

  • No one knows who worte this beautiful piece of music, and nobosy will ever know, its too far back to find out, so just enjoy and dont worry about it. There wasnt this good of a guitar in the 16th century for mozart to play, not that sounds like this one does.

  • Such a beautiful music

  • where's salieri at the banjo?

  • Mozart???? fake !

  • Comment removed

  • lol would there happen to be a "Dj" in front of our Mozart of today? ;)

  • Did Mozart even play guitar?

  • ok, Mozart DID NOT write greensleeves, in fact it is attributed to Henry VIII while he was chasing after wife number 2, Anne Boleyn, or so the story goes, but I do know that Mozart didn't write it, it's about 200 years before his time

  • Except Mozart on lead guitar, does anyone actually know who recorded this verions?! :D

  • I love Mozart. I walk to school with him.

  • @loonylovegood107 Yeah, he's a really swell guy. He even shared his lunch with me once. That mozart, What a guy.

  • @loonylovegood107 I love Mozart, too, but Greensleevs wasn't written by Mozart.

  • @TeddyDaniels1992 I know :) I was being sarcastic... read the description of the video.

  • @loonylovegood107 And I'm hearing it while I prepare myself for the game. So before I go on the ice there is always Mozart with me. And the Referee (me) is well relaxed and ready.

  • @loonylovegood107 i went to school with him too!

  • Bon je prends ma guitare et j'y vais!

  • It wasn't Mozart, it was Salieri

  • Comment removed

  • How come this says Moart when Henry the 8th was the one who wrote it? Is this him really playing? I'm confused :P

  • @ScienceAndTerrapins *FACEPALM*

  • I love Mozart on the guitar. Mozart is also a great soccer goalkeeper., isn't he ?

  • beautiful video to accompany beautiful music :)

  • Im playin this on my guitar ... ♥

  • I am truly proud to be an Earthling!

  • this is the beauty of Planet Earth!

  • Not mozart though

  • Thumbs up if Mozart and his music rules!

  • Mozart RULES!! HOOO! I love his music!!!!

  • People, the vid poster is just being sarcastic. We all know better, so why the petty arguing?

BUT... Henry XVIII did not compose Greensleeves. He was just one of so many people who took the melody and put his own sh*tty lyrics to it. "What Child Is This," "Alas My Love," etc etc, people have been doing that for YEARS. Geezus.

  • Comment removed

  • Alright your rediculously incorrect. First of all Motzart passed away a very long time ago. Secondly, Greensleeves was not composed by Motzart at all it was composed before Motzart by Henery the Eighth of England who was the Father of Queen Elizabeth the First. Henry the Eighth also wrote the song Past Time With Good Company. Please get your information correct. Thank you.

  • @AgileWolf77 please get your spelling correct before you correct someone else. "ridiculously" "Mozart"

  • ikr but he put it in piano form

  • This song was around long before the time of Mozart.

  • I guess, I am the twit. Defend the Slow. Has no honour.

  • i love the classics ....imagine this was never created.. thered be no music at all today xD

  • Beautiful recording

  • this song was originally called grass stains cause Mozart was clumsy.

  • @slitherlock huh?

  • @slitherlock Are you referring to the famous composer Mozart? It is not known who composed the song "Greensleeves" but legend has it the song was composed by King Henry VIII of England. Being possibly the most famous tune surviving from the Renaissance period "Greensleeves" was printed during the mid 1500's. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart the composer was born in the mid 1700's. Perhaps I too was clumsy 200 years before I was born but I try not to be now.

  • This is not Mozart, man. By God.

  • Actually it's a guitarist named Ed Gerhard. Awesome guitarist and a great guy. I see him play every year around Christmas.

  • my favorite melodie

  • Comment removed

  • best version!

  • this isn't mozart, no one know who made this music

  • @neocrazywarriors : It was King Henry VIII !

  • @PeachGirr the artist is actually unknown. but Henry VIII used the song to get a wife.

  • @neocrazywarriors Enrico VIII of enland...
