Im 22 years old and i appreciate music like this love it more young ppl should be interested in music like this instead of this shitty music now a days
came across their song "eyes of a child" the other night while having a quite evening with my girlfriend and some nice acid. it changed my life. i've never felt so much hope for mankind.
awesome stoney video. grew up with these guys as my dad was a big fan. he had all their albums and as a kid i used to love to look at the trippy artwork.
i'am 66 now but this song and others makes me feel alive and young again I forget the arthritis i even pulled out my fluit and remember the fingering too.and am still longhaired . poneytail
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
@johnnycheck99 Was very much into Blues early 80s ,not too much of it on the radio only a few greats, this is one you might hear on WXRT or on my eight trac or casette in my 67 Galaxie 500, and am still very much into The Blues...
@BooeyHogue I care about him enough to answer you. Mind your words, slave. Lots of people miss him, his wisdom. He was way ahead of his time, but how can you possibly understand? You are just a piece of meat. You're becoming extinct, together with this sick social order. Nobody cares about what you think. You're less than nothing; your existence is meaningless. You must be loved by a dozen people, at most. Leary is cherished by millions, even after his death. You are alive and already forgotten.
Unlike The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless of others, The Moody Blues managed to produce truly decent so-called psychedelic music!
"..that astral plane we are all on if we would take the time to intellectualize it." By intellectualizing it, you destroy it with mental words which can be argued and misunderstood. It leads to the opposite "path." T. Leary advocated the use of LSD to kick to pieces the stained glass walls we build as we grow into adults and "intellectualize" ourselves OUT of childhood and into the "superior" adults we are now. IMO, MB lyrics remind us of our loss which we rightly mourn.
The point is the inflection point- the switch at the end where you fly the astral plane- to soar- as ususal with the Moody's that spiritual hope. The Moody's don't put their faith in a man. It's God- or something greater. That part of Him that's in us all. I love this song for how it makes me feel- that astral plane we are all on if we would take the time to intellectualize it.
Do you know what was the opinion of Timothy Leary of this song ?
I think he was a bit misunderstood. Leary wasn´t the most dangerous man in USA like the president said. Timothy Leary wasn´t exactly a bad guy he believed most of it what he said about LSD and maybe believed LSD could help the humankind to understand the world better. But the negative points of that chemical wasn´t informed very well when Leary became famous as a LSD guru.

A great masterpiece, placed between 'House of Four Doors, Part 1' and 'House of Four Doors, Part 2' on 'In Search Of The Lost Chord'. Sadly, FM radio stations in my area, even those with a classic rock format, very rarely play this timeless classic anymore.
I love this video, and don't need to drop acid to appreciate the artistry of this amazing video. I find this an exceptional video to watch much less to listen. Thanks!
I first heard this song in 1968 when i bought the album "In search of the lost chord" by the Moody Blues.3 of my closes friends and i split a 4 way acid. We started tripping with a boom box blaring the legend of the mind while the hallucinogen was just starting to kicked in and man what a formidable awesome experience. We were on the rooftop.Thank God no one thought of jumping out of the building...Hail to Timothy Leary. What a Genius man he was.May he rest in Astral plain.
I remeber going to my first MB concert and looking around at all the people, thinking -these people are a little like me,sort of like family. Never did hard drugs, but these guys always took me somewhere else-a good place.
Moody Blues had that rare gift where people could close their eyes and imagine. My days of "expanded consciousness" are long gone but I can still close my eyes to their music and imagine. Enjoy
Hey LPLandingZone....you are sooo right. The Moody Blues are, and will always be the BEST bands ever, and they are definitely underrated. I have been listening to them since the early 70's. I am now 57 and still listen to them. The music never gets old.
@LPLandingZone Well, they sold over 70 million albums, but I agree. Even classic stations don't play them much. Certainly not enough talk about them today.
I share the same birthday with Tim Leary but throughout my psychedelic era I definitely more influenced by the Moody Blues sometimes I listened to them for days on end. Still do some days.
You're vision for this great Moody Blues classic is awesome...great images respresenting the depth and heights of the an era...enjoyed the experience very much...thank you for your time and sharing your artistic soul...Many Stars♥ PEACE♥
One Saturday I figured out how to play this on the guitar. Never get tired of playing it. Same thing with Tuesday Afternoon. There's a lot you can do with Tuesday. It's one thing to play these tunes ... the Moody's composed these tunes. Fabulous and thank you.
@durgaaa . .yup . .that's what they were tryin' to do . .there was a scheme once to dump a whol;e bunch o' lsd into the Chicago water supply when the Democratic Convention, I think 68 . . what if? . .
@GregERobertson -in the water supply would not be safe for kids and old ladies. You gotta have direct targets -not whole city water supplies. Kinda like Grace Slick was trying at the Nixon White House.
@MoniqueandJustin3883 But not most adults-All At Once- on the same day! Think what that would do to business, traffic, Can you imagine? It's got to be targeted.
At 1:00, those harmonies are magnificent in their capturing of the feel of the psychedelic experience. Although simple, it produces quite a kaleidoscopic visual- there's a certain perfection with how they captured the movement of a trip- the movement within your mind, the intricacies of the patterns.
This has been one of my very favouritest songs ever since it was released - millions of great vibes and memories from this one!! Thanks beyond words for the upload.

I have been a Moody Blues fan since the beginning of time immemorial, thats a long time, think about it!
I have tons of their albums, I even enjoy singing some of their songs, but have not recorded and uploaded any covers of them yet!
Thanks for posting this one and thank you Languagedancer for sending this to me.
