My little Catahoula looks exactly like Howie except she has one blue eye and the other is Half brown/Half blue.... She is an awesome dog and wouldn't get rid of her for the world. Good Choice - I can't wait to get home from work everyday to play with her!!!!
@feisty2day my family and i just got a puppy, and we think its a catahoula mix, but we dont know...he has 2 bright blue eyes, and his ears either are both up, or one up one down, or just down like the puppy in this video.... he also has a sharp high pitched bark...do you know any traits we should look for to know if he is a catahoula mix?
@Silverspringful Catahoula's are "leopard" dogs meaning they have leopard spots. My Cat was grey with black spots. Some are tan with brown spots. Maika's ears did not go all the way up. They stayed floppy most of the time. Cat's also tend to be around 70-80 pounds. You can always check with your vet, or take him to PetSmart. The folks in there really know their breeds. Where do you live? Because i live in Wisconsin, & we were lucky to get my catahoula at our animal shelter, but they are rare that they show uup at our shelters. I was just wondering because they are very great dogs with people, and kids.@feisty2day
We live in South Carolina & I have seen a few Catahoula puppies and adult dog mixed Cat breeds turned in to our local shelter. There is a GREAT Cat rescue in Texas (find them on Facebook). They help transport Cats all over the country. Catahoulas are AWESOME especially dependable since they are great with kids and adults. Can't tell you how many times I have heard about them saving kids and adult lives. They are EXTREMELY bright and loving souls!! Can't wait to find my next love!
There's a catahoula/pitbull mix at the daycare I work at. Never heard of a catahoula before. I think the pitbull part made her more goofy. I've met many silly pits before.
Awee, this is adorable! I got my catahoula when he was 4 months old, so I never got to see what he looked like as a baby puppy. I wish they'd stay this cute forever :p

We adopted a 6 month old catahoula pup from the shelter a few weeks ago. He's got a split face too. Half black and half blue merle.

Catahoula's are awesome dogs. Please visit your local animal shelter as many end up there. They are wonderful with other dogs and children.

catahoulas are some of the first breeds ever. there mixed with sooo many breeds.
my dad knew what our dog izzy was instantly. supposevly his full cherrokee grandma had one.
