  • Why didn't you use a green screen?

  • 240p? rly?

  • @fku123 Is that "rly" a problem?

  • @ChrisG140907 720p+ would make it much better to watch in fullscreen... ;) so I guess, "ya rly"

  • @stoikr But it really is about the music, even though there are some nice effect (super zoom)

  • @stoikr

did you get 720p on youtube in 2007 ? I don't have a good memory but I don't think it was the case... Though I agree, the cellular zoom bit would have been even more mindblowing than it already is :D

  • fake

  • lovely

  • Damn... I wish this was on spotify...

  • @CptRed Right! you can't even buy this on itunes :(

  • Incantatore...

  • HYPONTIYZING

  • Lasse is Genius. Maybe one day you can make one of my films!

  • You put so much effort into all these effects and yet you could only manage the lowest possible quality for the upload?

  • @elementc It was uploaded in 2007. Don't think widescreen was possible in youtube back then.

  • brividi..

  • Why don't I know any person in which I could share this with, in which they could experience it similarly? . . so alone

  • MESMERIZING AND STUNNING.

  • where can I buy this music from??

  • I didnt understand anything you said in the description, but it sounded complicated. Thank you for taking the time to make this, it was beautiful and my mind was fucked.

  • WTF why did youtube reduce this from HD to 240 p ? WTF? It's uploaded by the CREATOR of the video. Come on youtube ..

  • significance poised in a blissful manner, a lofty prayer to understanding souls

  • @dabrazilian09 Thats what she said!

  • Only one word: beautiful

  • Oh my god, such a beautiful song.

  • @Ozscii yeah, he often sacrifices intonation for a dramatic flair. But that's where he's found his niche i suppose

  • God-Like!!!

  • ogni volta è un emozione grazie!

  • oh..ASHURA...

  • @masonjhatcher Stupid, he COMPOSED the music and his music is genius. I don't know anybody else writing music like this. It doesn't matter if all the layers are played by him or different celli. I don't even want to respond to your childish last sentence, but fyi he's Italian.

  • @masonjhatcher Yes, you're right. Giovanni Sollima is a very typical german name. So yes, he MUST be from Germany. Well, big surprise! He's from Italy, just as his name literally SCREAMS out.

  • I daydream every time I hear this.

  • i hate Giovanni.. he made me buy a cello.

  • @tha0wnage

Me too! So much money >_<

  • ear-gasm. :)

  • Nice.

  • if you have never been on a trippy nature walk then you have n't lived fully in the essence of your soul as a human being. these fractured images also call up not only the experience of such a walk but also the memory of it into fullness within the eye of the mind. very beautiful here and creative. and surprisingly real.

  • @kukunu

This reminds me of playing computer RPG's. Mostly Morrowind.

  • this is absolutely beautiful but also mesmerizing.

  • Giovanni, tu sei il mio idolo!!!

  • He has 6 arms? That's why the music sounds so divine!

  • Comment removed

  • I heard Sollima play a concert in Tuscany this summer. This man is completely beyond reproach. Never heard a better cellist. Sublime!

  • @Soshin5 I was just about to comment on this saying that someone moments ago had told me the exact same thing. Who would have guessed that person would have been you! I hope you're proud that I took your advice.

  • holy shiz dude

  • This vid is one of my daily favorites.

  • this video has the wrong rating system, it should be a heart that says "im in love"

  • someone to be proud of

  • You sir, are an amazing director/editor.

  • great music and a fantastic video

  • Grande!!!

  • un capolavoro di video, una musica da brivido. performance di due artisti geniali

  • someone knows if this song was in "the fountain"?

  • salve mi dite il titolo originale, oppure una colonna sonora di questa magnifica melodia, grazie in anticipo a tutti coloro , mi daranno una risposta

  • @70a10b20c TERRA ARIA, tratto dall'album WORKS. Credo. :)

  • SUPER GAAAAAS

  • Did i just do acid?

  • This is truly beautiful, haunting. Having the counterpoint melody bowed (rather than plucked as heard elsewhere) is far more effective and less jarring.

  • The 242 people who gave this a thumbs down have no souls.

  • @commandertim Or less than 6 arms.

  • @commandertim

"The 242 people who gave this a thumbs down have no souls."

Oh, hell! I KNOW I don't have a soul and I can't imagine how anyone could honestly dislike this!

  • @commandertim You know when I see trite comments like this with so many thumbs up, it makes me dislike the video just because the people watching it are stupid enough to thumb this stupid shit up.

  • @donkameron:

takes one to know one, poopy head

I bet you don't even listen to Miles Davis

  • @logixisbad

    :/

  • it's really beautiful music but the video scares me a little.

  • @UnknownExcalibur7 Haha that is awesome and hilarious

  • this is the most tripped out music video i have ever seen that involves a cello

  • magnifico

  • this is too beautiful

  • Exactly at 2 minutes you will see a face in the clouds on the right side of the bird....

    Very spooky....

  • holy shit...simply amazing. if every video on youtube had the awesomeness that this one has, we would all stop fighting wars

  • @LynguriZ

More like they are the most pretentious group of classical assholes you'll ever meet.

  • Lasse Gjertsen is a genius.....

  • @sam84tkob so is Giovanni Sollima!

  • Yet another great musical/visual offering by Lasse!

  • Oh, to grow two more arms and hands was my dream when my kids were small, but of course it has other uses, too! The beetles don't know how lucky they are!

For now I have grown goosebumps at least :)

    Stunning video! Thanks !

  • j'adore

  • Love the sounds :-)

  • nice

  • mi fa sognare.

  • if i had six arms i'd play two guitars and touch two bitches.

  • amazing dude you read my eyes

  • And please let me know what you think of him, ok?))

  • My frinend, who is a composer, used to state that this piece is just a combination of disjointed sounds.. nothing more. But I, personally, love it!

  • Personally I believe that it's so complicated that it looks kinda chaotic in a way. But who cares - music is about the sound, and I love it in here!

  • @disblader

Well, some of my frineds who are opera singers and professors in the field of music, highly appreciated Sollima's works, the adore him I would say ... but the composers keep on saying Sollima composes for mass audience that are not the experts, cos he can't write smth really great....

To my eye, Krzysztof Penderecki's works are chaotic, but he is reckoned among a hundred of the most talented composers of the present! I'm puzzled... :))

  • Hmm, I guess the composers know, what they're saying. But what's the point to create something that's awesome only technically? I personally think that real beauty lies in simplicity. Don't understand me the wrong way, simplicity itself can be really complicated. Well, I'll stop writing now, or it'll be too much for a comment :D. Anyway, thanks for Krzysztof Penderecki, I'll check his work out.
