I don't see what difference it would make to the establishment GOP which party Ron Paul runs under because he won't tow the standard Republican line in either scenario. In a great many ways, Obama is closer to their platform. Also, don't discount the impact an Independent Ron Paul would have on the former "peace candidate".
The real problem with these " establishment" media people is their disconnect from the masses they are supposed to report upon. They repeat each others talking points, they discuss between themselves as to what the people are supposed to be " worried about" and they clearly do not understand and appreciate the issues that affect the vast majority of americans. If Ron Paul is a threat as a third party candidate, then wouldn't it make sense for the Republicans to choose him to run on their ticket so that he doesn't disrupt their chances? We all know that the Media wants Obama to win reelection, but if Ron Paul is the Republican nominee, he will win in a landslide, guaranteed.
