  • I wonder why the officially imposed interpretation says that the serpent in the Garden was "Satan". I don't see this in the Biblical texts as "the thing to believe" about the story (and I see all of this as symbolic stories with deep psychological meanings and not as mere historic events). I find it odd that later Moses raises a bronze snake on a cross and later on it says' just as Moses lifted up the brazen serpent (on a pole or Tau cross), so too must the Son of Man be lifted'...interesting!

  • part2... In the story of Eden, there is a tree with a serpent... in Norse we have the World Tree with the dragon gnawing at the roots ... in the 11th Labour of Heracles we find the serpent Ladon guarding the tree of the "blissful" apples of the Hesperides. In India we find the Kundalini "coiled" serpent symbol representing energy rising up through levels in the body. Even the Kabbalah's Tree of Life of Sephirot is a tree (and some have drawn a serpent onto this). All these systems seem linked

  • lol someone removed my comment...lol why are all the presuppers so scared of Dawson Bethrick?!?! lol its funny really, they all get in a tizzy and resort to name calling!!!! A M A Z I N G!

  • its sad that someone who calls himself a christian would call me a moron for challenging the idea of truth. I cant believe I have been disrespected like this by someone who considers themself an intellectual. Im flabbergasted. lol if you think objectivism is ignorance thats like saying "knowledge is ignorance" lol...absolutely amazing. I was making a challenge of truth, I will not stoop to the level of name calling. have a good day sir

  • to actionjackson, i bet you would...you dont have to prove anything which is the basis of all his ridiculolus ideas. you can therefore say basically whatever you want. you are a moron for actually falling prey to bethriks ideals. i would say that it is ignorance, but there is no such thing as ignorance in todays "internet" society; therefore, its stupidity.

oh and hey mr uttinger, its will.

  • @bv3233

I dont understand your animosity. would you get mad if you discovered theism was not true? wouldnt the truth make you happy?

  • this man is scared of Dawson Bethrick and I challenge him to debate any of dawsons posts. he marked my comments as spam when they were not offensive at all.

  • good is for everyone evil is against everyone a person is with and for everyone and opposed to everyone and everyone's for a person and opposed

  • The nature of the human mind is to see things in black and white, good and evil, and all the other polarities relative to physical earthly incarnations. The mind is thus split instead of Holy, and religion perpetuates the illusion of separation from God with it's never ending war between good and evil. Time to look a little deeper.

  • fairly perceptive nairda55555. i agree

  • my mom said god gave women periods as a punishment from eve getting that apple

  • @blahblahblahjjjjcccc wow... what?-_-

  • i highly doubt this comment will pend approval but if it does heres a good question: is it better to be ignorant and blissfull or to be intelegent and burdened. adam and eve before they ate the fruit were like sheep or cattle, not knowing anything and blissfuly doing nothing but eating, relaxing, and reproducing but when they ate the fruit they became like god understanding good and evil and knowledge, but being forced to use it to survive a harsh life. which is better?

  • burtbou1985,

You are incorrect - the tree was existant NOT a metaphor

  • You know, I am a Christian and I have been having this discussion with my closest brothers in the faith... Our conversation has surrounded the concept of what is good and how 'good' has become relative in modern times....

  • That, or it could be a long-winded allegory with the moral, "ignorance is bliss."

  • this guy is great

  • Hey Greg!

I learned a lot from this man back in the day.

  • 1st. who is to say that they would have learnd of evil? evreything was sinless so there was no evil on earth so God wouldnt teach that to them.

2nd. she did not reject God she rejected his morals. she never denied from his exsistence infact she still respected hm and feard him enough to hide from him when they had sinned.
