@Topera151. Actually no. The cheat gainer is just an improper name for the slant gainer , aka Kick the moon. Also ,the slant gainer seems like a flip over the shoulder ,but it's only an illusion. In truth , the shoulder is simply dropped so your body turns sideways into an aerial. I agree with the rest of the explanations.
Hmm , think about it. If you do a slanted back flip that moves forward in air. How would you call it? :D There are many moves with '' cheat '' in their names , but only because they are done by preforming the cheat setup , which is basically a step over to the side. So , it can't be a cheat gainer cuz it uses a different setup ( j-step ).
@MrPredatorix I see what you're saying, but the move is not a slanted backflip, nor should it have a j-step; it's more like an inward side-gainer. A slanted gainer is essentially a poorly executed KtM. Neither name is ideal, but slant gainer is more likely to cause confusion as to what the move actually is. If you disregard the name 'cheat' as describing a specific setup and instead use it merely as a transformative verb to describe a different type of gainer it works better than 'slant'.
@Topera151. Ok , let's just agree that we disagree. :P Also , a lot of ppl have different names for the moves. For example , in freerunning, a gainer is a backflip which moves forward in air , while in tricking it's a backflip done from one leg. I prefer the name ' slant ' because it implies that the flip isn't completely inverted so it's much easier to describe.
moon kick to the side??? ain't it called moon kick cos the moon is high up?
nooooo I got caught in the names debate......too long watching tricks instead of trying...

@guachingman it's more to do with the crescent shape the kick draws in the air.

i do not get it..
if a gainer is a backflip going forward..
then if that is a cheat gainer then it should not be called a gainer cos there is no backflip in that watsoever
DMN8Parkour 2 years ago
@DMN8Parkour it's cheat gainer because instead going straight to the back like a gainer you go a bit to the side.

@888167 @DMN8Parkour Gainer, moon-kick, J-step gainer and cheat gainer are all different moves. I will try and explain:
Gainer: A back somersault performed in the x-axis while traveling forwards.
J-step gainer: A gainer performed in the x-axis with a J-step setup.
Cheat gainer: A gainer set up followed by an inward side somersault. The sault is in the z-axis
Kick-the-moon: A hybrid of a gainer and a cheat with a j-step setup. The sault is in the x-axis, but approx. 30 degrees off the y-axis.

@MrPredatorix I say 'Slant-gainer' is the incorrect term.
