This might sound morbid, but i want this played at my funeral.Absolutely awesome.chameleons never made a song i didnt like, very very few other bands achieved this.i used to find obscure vynil chameleons tracks in student shops in Leeds. And when you fail to make a connection you know how vital it is,oh when something slips through your fingers you know how precious it is.
And now I remeber all those wonderful years which such a sorrow in my heart that hurts just like anything else. And The Chameleons were there with me. Thanks for posting it.
has been my favourite track since i was 15 (1985) thanks to my neighbour who introduced me to them. Radiohead come close but these guys are the daddies. no question...
My favourite Chameleons song of all time. It's been stuck in my head all morning hence I've had to look it up here and play it though my headphones at work. Brilliant.
Yes, definitely best of the 80s unbeaten for beautiful, atmospheric, melancholic, poignant music and lyrics... recently heard this track's intro v briefly in the episode of Top Gear where they are in Albania, so someone in the production team has taste!
This is the greatest song ever written by any band, truly awesome , and utterly wonderful. So gald I had the pleasure of seeing this band in the early 80's.
This song is a dream, and prophetic. I saw the movie Beneath The Dark, not very good reviews at all but I loved it, so what if I don't agree with the critiques; however this song plays at the end as he walks down this highway in the desert... and I had a dream today, I was with my wife and a Japanese woman and several toddler girls in the house, I was being coaxed by them to drive an ancient spear through one of the girls and I did, such remorse overcame me that I killed a young girl, I woke...
Does anyone know if they have any other songs that sound similar to this one? I've listened to a few, and I find that they are a lot softer and similar to one another...this one just seems to stand out more than the rest!!!
Anyone who has discovered this perfect masterpiece via the credits of a forgettable, limited release B-movie should count themselves extremely fortunate. Congratulations!
@mrsJsarcevic Listen to Script of the Bridge. Then What Does Anything Mean? Basically. Then Strange Times. If you don't find what you were looking for, the problem lies within.
I heard this song at the end of this movie called 'Beneath the Dark' and I knew that I had to hear it again. I never let the credits play on a movie, but this time I did, just because of this song. It's beautiful.
I was 17 ansd was playing drums in a band in Paris...All the band's members were Chameleons huge fans..This was in 1985..Then 16 years passes , we found jobs , some had kids , some divorced...Suddenly In 2001 , The same band members call each other to see the Chameleons live in ..Paris par a unique show..Ungorgettable moment..We nearly cried at this end........We are now all 42 years old and still listen to this legend band...
@BorlandRIP7 A great time to be alive. Finger on the pause button of the ghetto blaster, ready to catch John Peel's gems. So glad I caught this early on. Legends.
great song... i found this song at the end of a good movie called beneath the dark. this reminds me of the cure, depeche mode etc. some modern new wave. the guitar work trancends me into another world. love it!!!
It gives me goosebumps every fuckin time I hear it. Thats the soundtrack of my youth. Saw them live in winter '81. It was cold and snow was falling... amazing
@Ikarus43 wow, i was only a year old then. when i first listened to this i totally thought this was new, until i looked it up and seen it was recorded in 1982. living proof that music like this is timeless.
thats true:-) the newer stuff of them is a matter of taste but I prever the first 3 albums. I saw the band on their so called resuraction-tour in 2000. That was quite a good gig but somehow the honey was out of the moon... If I only could turn back time... :-( ...oh nooooo right now I´m talking like my father (aged 75...)..
@DerrickthePinecone I thought the same thing! on a different note, you should also listen to Fantastic Planet, an album by an early 90's band Failure. It doesnt really sound anything like this, but is kind of experimentalish and pretty cool
@inDieMelodie Also..check out Meeting Places and some of the Interpol stuff....not the Chameleons UK but likely inspired by them....Great musik! timeless !!!
Vaya grupo que nunca se le ha dado la valia que tiene, ademas este disco es de lo mejorcito que tienen, jejejejeje. Es verdaderamente impresionante, espero que os guste

i meet this song in the end of "wake",
