  • Bert Poe taught me and my siblings to fight, as kids. We've been very successful, using his teachings.

  • I love all the nervous laughter. Everybody there is just a little scared.

  • Holy shit!!! I love everything about this guy, including his name! It's a shame I'll never be able to meet him!

  • @ZhuangziZhou I met him. He was one of my Dad's best friends, and he lived at my house several times. And he was as bad as he looks in this video and more so.

  • why are you so violent Mr Poe? oops, just read further down...i guess we might never know what makes a man so into the 'killing' thing...

  • @kingofaikido He's a Marine. It's what we do.

  • I think some of this is combatives that was taught during WWII and some of it is "old-school cheating" in boxing, i.e. stuff that some coaches used to teach in case the OTHER guy started fighting dirty like holding and hitting.

  • He was a marine raider in WW2 I think. Also he was a body guard for a first lady. I met him at some seminar's & 1 camp in the late 80's early 90's. The first time I met him he came up behind me and demonstrated all the horible things you can do to a human face and mouth. I can still taste his fingers sometimes when I think about it. He was truly amazing.

  • My favorite part of Bert Poe Lessons, is that everyone laughs when he says things like, it doesn't work in a fight, or hit them until they are heavy. If you notice, he isn't joking! Fedor & a Shark have more emotional response to hurting people than this guy. . .

Im not sure of his official military status, but he definately did something with the government. . .

  • This guy seems like a very serious man. He talks about killing moves, was he military?

  • Bert was a great man to listen to and watch in person and we all miss him.

It was only 3 years after this that we lost him to cancer which was the saddest thing. He was a very "vital" kind of a guy.

    RIP Bert.

  • Bert's family was good friends with my family. I grew up watching Bert teach my Dad the things he is teaching these people, in our living room.

He had a tremendous influence on me and my famiiy, and i am very grateful to you for posting this video.

    RIP, Bert.

  • I trained with Bert for many years in Mr. Tackett's garage, he was absolutely brutal. His grip was unbelieveable. I was very lucky to have been able to train with him.

  • Wow, he looks brutal! but his stuff looks effective anyway. brucew22, who taught bert poe all this stuff hes teaching here? becasue its not jkd but its still great fighting.

  • its all about head control baby....and this dudes an animal

  • Burton's right a great, great man. Made things simple and they work.

  • great video.

  • He was a great man and a ferocious fighter!

  • That man was Hardcore.I love it.

  • thanks for posting! bert poe is truly an American legend!

  • WOW!! Truly amazing! No wonder why Bert Poe is held in such a high regard to those that knew him. Brutally effective and simplistic, it doesn't get better than this! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

  • the jaw braker was my favourite this shit is so cruel better than snatching somebody's eye out ^^

  • I would not dare to grab on his girlfriend's t*tts.
