  • at least your better then how stuff works . com

  • this guys build his own IPAD 3 take a look @ my channel

  • i know how to make a cheap computer use amd , you will save on your light bill :)

  • Comment removed

  • this is so outdated.

  • anyone else have trouble finding part 2/5?

  • So at what point do I install the Rat in a wheel?

  • it's as expensive as the own your already bought at the store, that has been built already. I'd rather buy from the store if under $1000.... i'd probaly break those hardwares and then lose money. ahahahaha Honestly.

  • @kayangthao you get a lot less for your moeny that way because they charge for labor and stuff, with this u put it together yourself so u get things that are great but still keep a good budget

  • amai heb jij de ziekte van daal

  • i can build a bad ass system with only 500 buks

  • No winder he is using intel. uless he is uing the i7 extrem all the intell processors are in 150-350 dollar range, I build computers for a living and u can buuild an intel system for less than 400, thats including windows 7 wich is 100 dollars. so 300!

  • what if you mess it up you just lost 1,000 bucks im now taking the risk

  • no wonder it cost 1000 dollars he used intel. I can build amd system cheaper lol.

  • @james64468 Yeah but AMD sucks.

  • You can build your own computer under 100$, but its gonna be a guestion how it will perform. My pc cost over 1000€, and I already need a more powerful one.

  • @tuulari all i need is $1,200 to have an awesome PC :)

  • i watched the first 20 seconds and thought fuck no

  • my gameing rig didnt even cost $700 and it runs crisis just fine(not on high settings of course

  • WOOT NEWEGG.COM

  • This video was probberly made in 2004.

I made an amazing pre build gaming pc for £790

  • you can built a full-hd movie system for about 500-600 euro's today..

  • @basbas63

    I say 400 euro easy.

  • @ManicMindTrick I talk about a silent machine in a htpc case. :)

  • But... I just built one for under $450 for my dad...

  • Yeah and dont touch the top of the CPU!

  • I like how you need a computer to learn how to make one.

  • @Peachrules not really you can put the video on a phone or iphone or a ipad

  • Under 1000 dollars isn't cheap to me...

  • @catrocity This video is 3 years old. The price to technology has decreased since then.

  • @catrocity It is for me......oooOOOooOOoh!! Just messin...

  • @catrocity it isnt wen your building your deskop, but it is wen your buying it all redy duilt

  • deos any body know some movies/books that teach you how every componenet on every "chip" in a computer works?

  • ocZ,Adata,Gskill ROX

  • course air ram suks get some Muskin Gskill or Adata

  • Put your CPU COOLER On first before you install the motherboard in the case!!!

  • mine was under $200 plays hd video just fine

  • my friend got a 4.5ghz possessor! i was like WTF!

  • @GiveMeBass93 Now im like WTF!

  • @DeSnixor we are all like WTF

  • @GiveMeBass93 he over clocked it

  • @BlakeKawalec nope....he cant XD

  • @GiveMeBass93 why can't he ? what computer vendor did he get it from ? :D ? i am now interested :D

  • @BlakeKawalec lol i am not sure and if he OCed it it would need a amazing heat sink XD which he is still trying to find

  • it never showed you what kind of motherboard to get. how you supposed to know what fits and what doesnt

  • even in 2007 $1000 for a multimedia pc wasn't exactly cheap! really bad quality...

  • I did some looking around on Google Shopping, and pieced together a gaming PC for $370. :) S&H made it closer to $450, though.

  • @gemgem92 A good how to video will do you just fine. Assembling a computer nowadays is ridiculously easy. The hardest part is making sure your components are compatible. Actually putting it together is piss easy, way easier than most jigsaw puzzles.

  • lol floppy :D

  • arent you supposed to put the motherboard first?

  • hasnt any1 ever told these people about static?

  • the low quality hurts my eyes

  • The bad components hurt mine...

  • @Mauser91

    lol XD

  • Well now in 2010 u can afford taht PC for less than 500$ In Bulgaria :)

  • you can get a quad core and 4gb ram at 1600 with a 1gb graphics card for about £600

  • To get audio on a pc do you need a sound card?

  • @TheBlitzvideo

not really most motherboards have a built in sound chip thingy.

  • @TheBlitzvideo

Ussualy its integrated in the motherboard but if you want something more than listening MP3 and basic stuffs.... you may buy a good sound card

  • Most motherboards tend to have a pretty decent on board sound card so you dont need to buy your own card. People buy sound cards when they want really high quality sound most likely for surround sound or maybe if they work with music professionally.

  • yea

  • What are the risk of making your own computer like system crash or system not comparable with other programs.

  • nice step-by-step video man! you did a really good job on explaining the steps, you went into alot of detail 5/5

  • Is my PC build compatible?

    --AMD phenom 955 II x4 quad-core

    --500gb harddrive sata 3.0/gbs 7200rpm

--Coolermaster hyper tx3 gaming cpu fan

    --Main:: Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4p

    --4 gb ddr3/1600mhz(data series)

    --Ati radeon 5770 1gb

    --Corsair 750w CMPSU-750tx

    Case:: NZXT Beta gaming mid-tower

  • You're good to go, but the 750TX power supply seems to be a bit much for your build. Are you going to overclock or plan to add in a second graphics card?

I run a HX620W from Corsair myself, running two graphics cards (GTX 260 216SP and 9800GT) and an e8500 c0 CPU, everything overclocked, and it powers my rig just fine.

  • You will build computers later. just pay attention a lot, and watch a lot of these videos.

  • yeah i had the same problem when i first watched this video, but i am obsessed with computer hardware, and before, i watched this video multiple times for entertainment (yeah i am lame), and eventually you get used to it, and eventually you will know which cord goes where.

It is really confusing at first, but practice makes perfect.

  • yes, i started watching videos, particularly started with this video, and i build computers without a problem to this day

  • there's not enough up-to-date computer building tutorial walk throughs :(

  • keep in mind this video is more than two years old. you can probably build a much better computer with this kind of budget.

  • $1000 dang dats like a car xD

  • Comment removed

  • if i buy my parts seperatley will i get the required wires and stuff with them?

  • @TombMan12

    yes

  • pointless talking about comparing prices to video, he made the vid long ago when everything was much higher in price, bitch.

  • you can buy a whole computer like that for about $400 cheaper

  • Hopefully with the minimum of blood ...

    LOL

  • why the hell would u use intel rather than AMD cheaper and its a multimedia pc, your not going to be stressing the cpu that much

  • I didn't see him put in the fan for the processor... isn't it needed?

  • a fan for the processor is VERY important!

  • can i build a good gaming pc for 400 $ ?

  • I would say at least 700-1000 USD and then you need a screen/monitor

  • nooooooooooooo

  • oh yes, if you want some that can run the more heavier games, then yes! but idf it's only CSS or WOW it's about 400-600 USD

  • and mouse keybaord software etc ;)

  • Maybe, but highly doubtful. I depends on what parts you already have of if you have to buy everything new. It depends on what you mean by good.

  • gta 4 good

  • Probably not. A graphics card alone can be between $150-300 possibly. Unless you add on to your current computer though.

  • US currency would scrap together something that would play every game on lowest but otherwise, no

  • @2PacsFather2

    Honestly...hell no.

  • why?

  • @2PacsFather2

because, like somebody else said, you just have to put way more money into a gaming PC.

  • how much ?

  • Comment removed

  • depends what spec you want but if you are happy with medium settings (still quite a bit better than a ps3 or 360) it isnt too much more

last year i built my cousin a gaming pc with a monitor that does 1200p included for £460 - $740

you could use a TV and save a couple hundred $ or but a cheap TN TFT

  • dont worry about it

  • This is excellent. Not only is this good for setting up a PC but for newbies to learn of all the components that make up a PC.

  • hahaha its what i needed so i can plan my gaming compter

  • ok iv got a question i got an old computer which im planning to customize soon yesterday and well i tryed to start it up but for some reason the screen wont show to picture or the sound all it does is a black screen and were the power button is the light there goes amber like its on standby the computer and screen work but the screen wont show anything (i havent got a mouse or keyboard so i dont know if it is stuck on stand by or if its broken) so can some one send me a message

    thanks

  • I had a computer do that and it almost blew up in face had to unplugg face, the chip was melted to the cpu and it cracked. something like that is not a good idea, though the last two computers I refurb from parts I got to work, one which I am using right now. which is fast!

  • What happens if you touch the CPU in the wrong spot??

  • Satan will be summoned out of your pc and will destroy all mankind if you touch it.

  • true that

  • It has an orgasm.

  • I know now :( It started thrusting the motherboard and fizzing :(

  • Comment removed

  • i have network card and built in network card at my computer with one better to use?

  • this is not helpful.

  • The guide is not intended for retarded people.

  • so why r u watching it?

  • Simple I am not retarded; try using Are instead of r and You instead of u before you question my intelligence bud.

  • i'm not surprised since a retard like u can't even understand simple internet typing. Pathetic, just pathetic.

  • "Are instead of r" Clearly I understand what it means! unbelievable!

  • if u understand it, then why the hell do u want me to use "are" instead? It's self conflicting fucking dumb bitch.

  • Holy shit! I said that because you said I was a retard, And I said maybe you should real words before calling me that. Learn to read!

  • holy shit! Maybe learn how to write better english, fucking dumbass.

  • Yes I'm a dumbass and this brings us back to the video; which you fail to understand. By the way there is nothing wrong with the words I type. Here is a method used by many morons out there; If you don't fucking understand something, shut the fuck up and move on. Typing "I don't understand this" does absolutely nothing for yourself or the creator. What do you expect him to do? make a special video dedicated to you, explaining each step in fine detail? The only fucking dumbass here is you.

  • i don't see what the big deal between "r" and "are" is because they're both right, it doesn't matter... calling someone retarded for typing with proper grammar would be what i call pathetic

  • One thing he really should have mentioned is the danger of static that can fry sensitive electronic parts or reduce their reliability.

In the absence of an earthed anti-static wrist strap and mat (that a computer workshop would have) you should touch some earthed metal before handling computer parts such as motherboard, CPU, memory etc.

Otherwise a good beginners intro video.

  • Would the side of the case do.. if its metal and you put it on the floor?

  • ya would the side of the case work...what else would work without having to buy a strap?

  • do we have to put a special cream between the cpu and the fan? i seen it in a different video like 2 years ago.

  • thermal compound

  • Comment removed

  • It depends. When you buy a CPU retail, then the thermal paste is usually already on the packaged heatsink. However, if you take off the heatsink, or if you replace the heatsink with another one, then you need to reapply the paste.

The rule of thumb is a small dab the size of a very small grain of rice evenly spread on the top of the CPU. The layer should be thin enough for you to still be able to read the words on the CPU.

  • cream hahaha jajaja newb lol

  • whats the diff between a multimedia cop and a normal one?

  • media can u use to your tv

  • basically its a dvr/gaming system/workstation all in one connected to a tv or used as a tv/ livingroom tv center.

  • hi i need a answer i have heard that u need a 64bit os to run 4gb+ of ram but also i have heard u can run 4gb- on a 32bit os is this true can i run 4gb ram on a 32bit os

  • nope

it will work but will be a waste cause 32 bit limits the ram to 3 point something gb

  • No you can run 4 GB RAM on 32 bit but it will probably only detect 3.? RAM because other parts like DVD/CD drives, graphics cards etc have small amounts of RAM as well.

  • Its 3.2, ironically.

But some computers alot more of the memory to other parts of the motherboard, so things differ between computers

  • hey i need a question if i put 4gb or system ram in a 32 bit os will it work cuz i heard that u need a 64bit os to put 4gb+ in but can i run a 32 bit os with 4gb ram?

  • It's too risky. What if I get something wrong by installing parts?

  • It's like building a lego set. If you follow all the instructions and treat things carefully, you will be fine

  • Im biulding my own pc,

    m2n-e sli mobo

xfx 8800 gts gddr3 graphics card

amd black edition processor will be overclocked to 3.1 ghz

    4 gb ram

    500 gb sata hdd

    great price too

  • If you aren't on a budget, I would recommend getting at least a GeForce GTS 250

  • This is what i want to do someday when i get the money and when i have the time is to build my very own computer.

  • sorry disregard that last comment Iwas somewhere else. Great vid all the same.

  • whats the sound track called??

  • is there any where that i can jus buy all the stuff excluding case

  • yes, eclips computers.

  • ok he did 1 big! thing wrong... you never touch ither sides of the CPU chip... what you realy do is place the CPU chip by holding on the sides of the CPU and do what he did but with out touching the top or bottom of the CPU. all the rest he did was good. and make sure the fan that you have your going to put on it that the logo is facing up with the power suply. i give him a 5 out of 5 for the rest of what he did though

  • That case already looks expensive man, i though this video is about building a cheap computer. (somewhere around $500 not $1000!)

  • this video is about a year old. this computer should not be that expensive to build now.

  • it can be much bettter in the long run if you go out and buy a pc for around 1k

  • Or just build one twice as good for 1k

  • could i buy the parts and have geek squad build it ?

  • geek squad is the biggest bunch of n00bs i have every seen. I asked if bestbuy carried molex to 4 pin and they said, "you mean sata?'

  • lol

  • lmfao XD XD XD XD XD

  • I'll die from laughing now haha fkin noobs those are just some gamer trying to understand PCs haha

  • sorry,i can speak japanese

  • Hi Indioazteka,

it's not easy to answer, because the information about your configuration is a bit too short.

But let me tel you sth. - for these kind of software your computer isn't very useful.

At least, you should have a DualCore processor with 2,5Ghz or more, RAM (which is very cheap at the moment) about 2GB, the more the better, a GeForce 9600GT as graphics unit and a 500GB HDD should do their thing...

Write me a PM for more help;)

  • thank u MarcusMiller92....thanks for helping, i bought all those hardwares u said and yes, now it works like brand new computer, my softwares now open without any problem.. this is great ..thank u once again..

  • HI MY NAME IS JHONY AND I AM A MUSIC PRODUCER, MY COMPUTER IS KIND OF SLOW WHEN I OPEN THE MUSIC PRODUCTION SOFTWARES... OR PHOTOSHOP CS3... MY COMPUTER IS DESKTOP COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3.. RAM: 766 : HARD DRIVE 120 GB. MY PROCESSOR IS 2.20 GHRZ OR something like that.. INtel... (i wiped out windows xp and reinstalled it but still works kind of slow just with this big programs) what should i do, or what do i need... please help..thank u...

  • Theres nothing really wrong with your computer, just replace the cpu with an Intel Dual Core and use a XFX 8400gs and you should be fine.

  • thank u IKILLEDYOU123...............ur answer was very helpful, now my computer works great, as it use to do when i just bought it...

  • hmm

    i like this tutorial ;)

  • nice vid but your voice is too far from the mic and in this room it echos which consequently distorts your voice.

  • I've posted this somewhere else.

What do you think of this combination (for gaming): ASUS P5Q SE S775 P45 ATX Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Dou E8500 (or Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 - which is the best choice for gaming) and an ASUS Geforce 9800GT EN9800GT HB Graphics card?

    Please help me out :)

  • lol. thats the exact same processor i am using. ughhh. i really need to get a new one. <_<

  • were can u get an anti-static bracelet

  • its not neccesary to have one but it recommended. i've never used one and i haven't damge any of my pc parts yet so far.

  • i would recommend a anti-static bracelet just to be safe. awesome video though guys

  • very good video

  • I built a media computer for watching DvDs and storing music via Itunes. I run it through a carver sound system and have it hooked up to my 32 inch TV. I built the computer for less than $100. It isnt a core 2, but I dont need that kind of power for what I use it for. I built the case myself out of an old stereo amplifier and it looks really nice.

  • static would kill it

  • nice intro music

  • Nice but I'd rather have my $6500.00 rig lol

  • geexbox= HTPC for 0$

  • you can get a quad core now for a lower price. because this vid tut is 1 year old. still is good for seeing how to install everything.

  • NERD!

  • your mum dosent
