Salme brother, here in Brazil to see their videos, and also to say that their are deos mass. I can not speak English because I used tradutro blows dier how much I liked the video, VLW and he's helping me a lot ... they are new in poultry and want to become a professional watching your video ... have any contact? type oukit msn or something?
@Humanoids yes u're right, they have some differences naming moves, but all have fundamentals. search wiki capoeira moves /wiki/List_of_capoeira_techniques,
the problem to dont have a federation is that anybody can create his group and say master himself and must 'invent' names they dont know.. o.O
wow wow, before watching this vid, its like impossible for me to do so, now I can give it a try, thx for your many videos. I was Cloudio's student long time ago in Australia Brisbane.
@KingJamesNBK187 lol its just a term of admiration yeah lateef is good i watcged him on undisputed 2, tom young goon, and tekken.. and he fits the role too
@disertic1 The name of the move depends on what group you are from. It is called Piao di mao in my group as well but the group that this guy is from may have a different name for this technique.
Breakdancing has a history of its own. It came from street dance styles back in the 70s among New York Black and Hispanic youths. Breakdancing today however has borrowed moves coming from capoeira and other flash martial arts.
many of the influences in the 70s are still from capoeira as that was shortly after it was decriminalised and it started to become more widespread. many capoeiristas moved to the states looking for work but carried on practicing and it was picked up on by dancers
Yeah there is no way Capoeira "copied" breakdancing since Capoeira has been around for more then 100 years and breakdancing has been around since the 1970's. But then again we have to thank breakdancing becuase while our opponents think we are breakdancing, then we suddenly whip out a meia lua de compasso to their face. Helps with the trickery, which is what Capoeira is mostly about.
nah... Capoeira Angola had some tricky moves but not tricks like this. Regional introduced flips and some advanced ground technics and moves like giratoria u maybe could see in a Jogu de Iuna, which is one of the newer capoeira styles (the move ends with back to opponent, might hurt in benguela or regional ;) ).
so in the advancement of b-boying and capoeira it's likely both arts learned from eachother.
"ninety" how this is move is called in b-boying was first in this case.
I wonder what an angoleiro would say to such comments, fakadaldel. Shameful. We capoeristas shouldn't be bickering over silly nonesense such as naming conventions. Because one group calls something differently doesnt make it any better or worse than another group. Your goal in capoeira may be different from someone else's but this doesn't make you better.
I never said i was better than anyone. The whole conversation is about the fact that no one should spread a name that is not commonly used unless it is standardised. And unless you insist that i rewrite the whole conversation in reply to your message to refresh your memory, we already settled that point. Also, I carry great respect for angoleros because of their incredible leg strength and traditional practice. And THEY seem to share the same movement names as the conventional ones.
Typical answer from a contemporary capoeirista ! I bet you make some nice and big hand gestures in your ginga as well huh? leavin some nice gaps for real capoeiristas to kick your new age dancing ass !!! You must have some brazilian flipflops and take yoga classes on the side too right ?? haha...n00b.
Piao de mao is portuguese for swinging of hands, the move has nothing to do with an au !
Mira amigo... los nombres cambian dependiendo del grupo... no seas tonto.... por ejemplo... para algunos un movimiento es Armada Martelo y para otros es Parafuso.... por favor informate...
I am informed ! There are official names to every movements !! Masters that came after mestre Bimba thought it would be cool to give them other names and did capoeira their way ! This is contemporary capoeira and has nothing to do with real capoeira regional.
According to your standards, acmb would be a contemporary grupo while it's definitely the one created by bimba himself.
And I think having multiple names for a move isn't bad... Just train with your grupo, and if you'd go to another grupo, let your game speak for yourself... what are the names good for anyway? Training and batizado's which are with your grupo... I don't see the problem :)
Yes, times change. He's my hero, but capoeira is a martial art, it evolves. And I don't know how many capoeirista's don't drink alcohol or don't talk at all during classes, I don't think they're that numerous :/
unfortunately, I don't think any of them remains. Nowadays Capoeira is just a past-time between cardio/yoga classes and cardio/kickboxing..... just to put something exotic in the air...... well just like febreeze, the exotic smell is but an artificial blend of synthetized chemicals.
this is called au giratoria.......
