@ilovegod300 Jesus was actually just some dude who fooled people into believing he had miraculous religious powers. A sort of Benny Hinn for the 1st century.
LT punked Walter Payton and Neal Anderson at the 4:03 mark---not an easy thing to do. He was truly a one-man wrecking crew. There'll never be another like him.
Quite a few teams made Giants look bad in 1987.Next week,Giants lost at home to lackluster Dallas Cowboys. I mean the Cowboys at that time were WELL on their way to making the Cowboys of late 1980s one of worst teams in NFL history. For Giants to lose at home the next week to them showed just how far off base the 1987 Giants were.Special teams would finish last in NFL that year in PR diffrential&8th to last in KR differential. LT Benson,Martin,Carson,&Morris should have retired in SB21 postgame
In '87,Marshall's last season in Chicago,he was a powerful, remorseless hitter with SS speed.Trying to stop him on the blitz with a RB was laughable since Marshall could overpower finesse blockers and out out-quick the stronger ones. even though he did not intercept a pass in 12 games in '87,he could cover most backs one-on-one, & his 93 tackles,5 sacks,& 2 forced fumbles were a tribute to his big-play ability and ferocity. They could always count on him to make big play, run, hit, cover,& lead.
Wilbur Marshall was a brilliant athlete,an impact player of the highest magnitude,a concussive hitter who ran as fast as many strong safeties. In 1986, his 5 interceptions,2 touchdowns,4 forced fumbles,3 fumble recoveries,5.5 sacks,& 60 solo tackles earned him All-Pro honors. He played much bigger than his size of 6-1 and 225 pounds, and it had been said, that the only thing separating him from Lawrence Taylor was 2 inches and 20 pounds. Teammate Otis Wilson was the classic intimidator.
@plntntvzn Yeah, but it's sad how he ended up now, with him in a wheelchair and basically an invalid. He deserved better than that from the NFL after a great career.
Wilbur Marshall may have been the superior athlete of that incredible trio of LB. When Al Harris sat out 1985,Bears found out Marshall was better than Harris in all phases and a more natural player. In the "46",Marshall was assigned the TE man-to-man,and quickly became one of the few NFL outside linebackers who could handle it. A spectacular hitter,Marshall had 6 sacks and 5 interceptions in 1985.

Hands down....Wilbur Marshall was one of the nastiest linebackers of all time

Dick Butkus was the nastiest linebacker of all time. Wilbur Marshall comes in second in my opinion.

josj15 - These were two were known as old school power teams, other teams passed the ball and spread the field a lot more
