Almost all TVs sold in the US are assembled in Mexico. This problem happens with some Samsung and Sony sets also. Sanyo quality is no worse than these. All 3 of these brands use the same panel that can develop this problem.
I purchased a 46 inch 1080p LCD Sanyo about 3 years ago and once in a long while it displays the shadowy glitches. It started about a year ago I guess. Im probably not going to buy a Sanyo again. :/
My Sanyo HT30746 just did the same thing. Bad product and bad customer support! Pulled rear housing off and the tube,rf board and other thing's said made in Mexico of all thing's. No more Sanyo ripping me off!
I purchased mine from Walmart and called them,they said to contact sanyo first.Sanyo did nothing but Walmart allowed me to exchange it for another for the same price I also got the 2year plan.Very Happy!I did not have the 2year plan on the sanyo,had it for 1year and 6months.So you may try to contact the retailer.

had the same problem with 42" sanyo... not even 2 yrs old and black screen, but sound works. they said could take it to repair shop a hundred miles away!! no thanks.... will never buy another sanyo product again. What a waste of $800.... you'd think you have a good 5 yrs outta it.
Same thing with mine (2008 model). Had it a little over a year when it started and put up with it about 6 months before taking it to repair shop. Was going to see if Sanyo would help but sounds like I would be wasting my time.
This happened to my Sanyo TV as well. Except it will get worse! I used to be able to wiggle the set a little bit and clear that up, but now...it's hopeless. The entire left side of my screen looks runny and has those bars and lines running through it. I bought it about two and a half years ago, and it only took a year for that screen to start doing that. Pathetic. I won't be buying any Sanyo products in the future.

Sanyo is junk..DON'T BUY!!!!!!!!!!! Customer service SUCKS...Never Again........13 months and my 42 in. is in the basement waiting to fix or trash.....
Same thing with my Sanyo 46 inch. On mine though the whole left side of the screen is black. Sanyo sucks. Only had it for barely 2 years

My friend, I'm a eletronic technician, all these years in experiense I can say to you, don't purchase any sanyo product, it´s not a good choise.

My 46" purchased through Wal-Mart is doing the exact same thing. I did notice that if I tap on the case it works just fine.
