I left a treat on my ottoman by accident one day and my Rat stared at the thing all day and it was still there when I got home. I never "trained" him to do it, he just realized it wasn't his area. I got a rat terrier somewhat by chance, but I am so glad I did. I couldn't ask for a better dog.
I've had my rat terrier for almost 7 years. He's the smartest dog ever. I love ratties.
