The remaining 7 bombs were located, it's all recorded in the Australian Archives in Canberra. They found the craters some 2 weeks later and a full report was made by an Aust army survey team. This aircraft was heading for Townsville to bomb there a fourth time and it experienced engine difficulties so they decided to jettison near the first sign of a town. This has been extensively written about and researched. I mentioned this here a few months ago but the comment was taken down, wonder why?
