The problem is making the kids want to learn though... you can only push them so far. School doesn't teach us about our own cultures, the cultures of those we share this land with, how those cultures TRULY clashed, and how we can learn from that past. While on the individual level there are many exceptions to how race works, the trend is in favor of Whites. Race and class are undeniably intertwined and to ignore one aspect is to do injustice to the rest. Wise's lectures focus mainly on race, though he'll never deny the dynamism between racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, etc. and he does mention them elsewhere.

The problem is making the kids want to learn though... you can only push them so far. A lot of them think they have no future but to push out babies and collect food stamps, it doesn't have to be that way and i wanted to be a teacher... i need money though.

School doesn't teach us about our own cultures, the cultures of those we share this land with, how those cultures TRULY clashed, and how we can learn from that past. Example: Next month is African History Month and kids will learn about the African experience in America. Sad thing is it starts with slavery.
