Sorry but if it was that dangerous they would not be putting it in medicines. Cannibis works as a painkiller, some people take it instead or morphine as it doesn't have nasty side affects (like making you sleepy all the time) and isn't addictive like morphine is. Also I'm pretty sure they found out that it's impossible to overdose on. It does not slow the heart rate, in fact it slightly increases it.
