fishwhisperer6100 This pond is in North Garland, Texas. They had to drain it almost completely when they did some work to the dam last year. It may be a while before it's back to a good fishing pond again.
@MrMatt1911 - I was using a 6X 3lb tapered leader. I have started using 6lb fluorocarbon as a leader though. I hate buying leaders. I'll still use tapered leaders for trout, and I used to fish a furled leader that i twisted. Thinking about doing it again.
i always feel bad cause my neighborhood pond is almost overstocked with bluegill and sunfish and its full of little 3inchers...they all swarm in one area and they jump out of the water before the fly even hits...so sometime when i go to let line out and im doing my back stroke a lil bluegill will bite it as the line goes flying back so there goes the bluegill flying back 60ft. behind me....its not that bad but 2day i ripped the hole top jaw completley off :'(
@jeepxj07 Ok i looked it up, yeah your right. Iv always thought they were the same fish. We just dont have too many warmouths where i live. Tons of rockbass though.
its a strike indicator...basically its a bobber for a fly rod...you use it when ur using flies that sink...like nymphs, but you dont use it for streamers..im pretty sure..lol, i may be wrong, but i think im right..i started fly fishin this year too...
@fishnkid1923 Come to think of it, you're right. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone using an indicator with a streamer, but I sure caught a lot of them that day with that very setup. I guess - "whatever works".
@anythingcars fishnkid1923 is right. It's a small strike indicator. You peel an adhesive back off the indicator and wrap it around your leader. I was fishing with an Autumn Bugger. Sometimes it's called an Autumn Splendor fly.
@davisaudio nice video love to fly fish bream and bass cause we really dont have trout in alabama um that last fish is a rockbass. i have some in my aquarium they hit anything
Thanks for watching. I looked it up on the Texas Parks and Wildlife website, and the fish is a Warmouth. They interbreed with other species, and I think think this one is actually a Warmouth / Bream hybrid.
that last fish was a crappie

snoopdog360180 1 year ago
@snoopdog360180 Yea, it seemed to me to be shaped a little like a crappie, but colored like a bluegill. A friend of mine helped me identify it.

@physchohead24 yeah a lot of people do that, but thats a completely different fish species. A rock bass and a warmouth dont look much a like

@jeepxj07 Ok i looked it up, yeah your right. Iv always thought they were the same fish. We just dont have too many warmouths where i live. Tons of rockbass though.
