  • no offence. but the hp doesnt match up? the e46 m3 with 440 rwhp should be dumping on the new m3 lol.. just numbers..... must be a crappy driver... cause i just have bolt ons and i beat the new m3 e92's .... unless they are modded like this guys, be a good race. but i havent ran into one yet, only vettes, and cobras

  • The twin turbo 2.7t was a bad mofo! Fastest engine they made, but it was a maintenance nightmare. Very fun and modable car. The B5 S4 is legendary.

  • Stage 2+ S4's are some of the best engineered cars out there. You'll need a lot more horsepower in a BMW with otherwise similar specs to attain the same performance. So far though, the modded S4 is an outlier in Audi's fleet. Volkswagen needs to rethink their strategy and fire at least half their management, and give Audi more autonomy.

    Those kits are dyno queens. On the road, they always get waxed. How is a frigging E92 NA car with exhaust and a GIAC (rollseyes) tune able to hang with a 440RWHP E46 that weighs about 400lbs less.

    Simple...HPF is weaksauce.

  • btw the e92 is NOT an automatic. Both transmissions are manuals. One is a conventional 6 speed with clutch and the other is a Sequential 7 speed Manual gearbox with an automated clutch.

  • @InsaneBimmer sequential 7 speed may as well be an auto, if you dont have a clutch pedal its an auto

    I went from a e46 M3 to a b5 S4 and yes, the M will forever be my favorite car I've ever owned, but you can't dismiss the S4's awesomeness. Yes its a stg3 going up against a bpu e92 M3, but there's a 10 yr gap! The e92 has 2x the hp stock from the factory. They built it to compete with the e36 M3..

    Now put a stg2+ in that HPF and the outcome would be very different!

    Can't wait to start modding my 01 S4.

  • well... audis are very comfortable... there are many ergonomic, well... not ergonomic 'cause i don't imagine that you work in your car.. there are many well-designed elements of the interior that make your driving experience much more pleasant. bmw makes faster cars, but the inside is a bit ugly. also, driving in snow? quattro is king in the snow. dunno what bmw can offer for that... maybe tire chains...

    The only runs the M3s looked fast in were when the S4 was on the side the camera was pointed away from! (although the M3 sounds incredible)

  • I have had my stage 3 S for 5 years now. Im not saying the E92 is not bad ass but its not stock either buddy. Stages mean nothing. That car is 6ok and has about 8k in it already. I have 10k in mine and would waste it.

  • @atoam yeah even though one has twice the displacement and cylinders which makes it fair race m3 motor is huge so a s4 should get stg3 to make feild even and its awd vs rwd so audi losses more to wheels m3 just lost

    I seriously didnt expect you to do that well versus the stage 3 S4. I used to own a stage 2 that was a beast before I moved to the E92 M3.

  • He was running pump fuel @ 6psi, so that would be Stage 1, he has Stage 2 but the Meth was not working.

  • Thanks man, it's the DCT, I'm convinced of it, my buddies E92 M3 with all the bolt ons and 4.10 gears is 1-2 cars back on me, the DCT really is the advantage, you can see it against all these other higher WHP cars, except the Z06 of course, lol.
