For 26 years I've suffered from what is considered to be mild psoriasis, based on percentage of coverage. @StarCreme This is a multi-faceted world. Why should our efforts be focused on one disease. Will people with moderate to severe psoriasis die, no. Will their quality of life suck, yes. Would I rather have cancer then psoriasis, no (sometimes I did). But when I was at my worse, my life sucked. I was depressed, I almost dropped out of school, I was unhappy. And a lot of other crap. i understand your dilemma. u can use cream to cover it but even if its not on the skin...its under. u will always have psoriasis.

let's put this into perspective folks. psoriasis is bad, but aren't some other diseases (cancer, AIDS, tuberculosis, etc) worse? shouldn't we focus on treating those first?

@StarCreme This is a multi-faceted world. Why should our efforts be focused on one disease. Will people with moderate to severe psoriasis die, no. Will their quality of life suck, yes. Would I rather have cancer then psoriasis, no (sometimes I did). But when I was at my worse, my life sucked. I was depressed, I almost dropped out of school, I was unhappy. And a lot of other crap. Psoriasis can be a pre-cursor to other things. I think treatment is important.

I had psoriasis fairly bad then since I took radio active iodine for my thyroid it all disappeared. I still have a couple tiny blotches but they never grow. Now I just have the psoriatic arthritis which is bad enough. Can't win for losing

I have psoriasis and I can't see why the Rx companies would want to find a cure with all the money they are making. I take Enbrel and it cost $800 a shot twice a week. Thats crazy thank goodness for insurance.

huh? since when did i said it's not caused by stress? stress cause the organs to malfunction which lead to food not being digested right. this becomes waste in the body. I took legal ecstacy for a while which is basically pills with different chemicals in to mimic the effects of ecstacy, you can buy them on the internet. Anyway after taking these pills once a week it began to disapear and after a few weeks it disapeared completly, since i ran out it gradually came back, no shit it worked, even doctors admit thgere are cures but they just dont know about them. i think you meant to say i WOULDNT recommend, well these pills were entirely legal, they contained no illicit substances in them whatsoever and they worked for me. Its a fact most psoriasis treatments are discovered by accident its very possible that these pills contained some blend of chemicals that the scientist are yet to discover that actually work

The only thing that worked for me and has totally cleared my skin was to purchase my own tanning bed for my home and only using it for 5 minutes a day totally cleared me in 2 months and a year later not 1 spot has returned. Now just 5 minutes twice a week and my skin has never been happier.

I experience psoriasis on my hands, I believe my case is mild though. I just use a steroid cream, prescribed by my doctor, called clobetasol propianate, plus lotion, and it works for me. Sometimes, I will put lotion on my hands and then place them in latex gloves, to hold in the moisture. but yeah God bless everyone who has to deal with this genetic curse.

Almost any dis-ease can be cured in 30 days by following a strict vegan diet. Just for 30 days -- give it a try. I had psoriasis when i was 6 years old, on my elbows, on my knees, and lower legs.
It went away and came back when i was 20 but worse, now have it on my legs, upper legs, a bit on the torso, scalp and a few on my back.
I also heard that sun and salt water (sea water)
helps very well to clear the redness and the scaling.

i understand your dilemma. I was diagnosed two years ago and am 24. i'm afraid to go out in short sleeves or shorts. if i do anything i go in shorts and cover up my spots as much as i can with makeup. it is hard to date. i have a wonderful girlfriend who doesn't judge me by the way my skin looks and if you date someone who does they aren't worth it. remember you have psoriasis but don't let it have you! i should take my own advice too! lol good luck!

I've had psoriosis since I was 11. I'm 15 now and it's on my fingers and lil dots and patches (scaly not red) on the top of my hands and wrists.
It's a mild case but it's painful where I bend my fingers sometimes.

Most people who have implemented Dr. John Pagano program from his book "Healing Psoriasis" have had great success. Go to Amazon and read the reviews. It's strictly dietary and lifestyle and can eradicate 95% of the plaques with 3 to 12 months. He also preachs about Leaky Gut Syndrome as being a primary culprit, like petrajohn2 mentioned.
