  • This is one of those shows, where they changed the formula in the following season, (The twins moved in with their aunt and her roommates in New York.) and it worked. Unlike a lot of other shows, where they do that, and the show ends up sucking.

  • I remember Jean and Liz, Loved this show, oh the memories.

  • I want this video on my Optimus Slider unit.

  • arent they the same twins on Grease 2

  • I miss this show!!! I remember it disappearing, then reappearing with new supporting cast. Weird.

  • With a little time this show could have been a hit.

  • this theme sucks!

  • Wow! Pat Richardson must be ancient. She was the mom/stepmom of these girls AND the mother on Home Improvement in the 90s? She must have some great genes. Maybe she's like Wolverine from the X-Men with a healing factor.

  • These girls had so much more talent than the Olsen twins

  • Thumbs up if you remember this show & still watching the Intro today.

  • Thanks for the luck and I shall keep fighting to get good programming back on once again like USA UP ALL NIGHT! If you were fans of that show just google it and you will find my website.

  • Hey I agree with you that the programming in the past was the best programming, but the problem is that they only want to appeal to the demographics of people who are around the certain age frame from teenagers on up to 34 years old. All we have hope for is someone who has the money and creates a network who is willing to show what we want to watch. If I had the money I would create such a network like that. Even AMC has sold out!

  • I love watching THIS TV and METV because they show a lot of things that NICK@NITE use to show 20 years ago including TV Land as well did at one time prior to them selling out and wanting to show everything that is the most recent and current.

  • A lot of these networks are scared to show a lot of these TV shows in reruns because they are scared that more people will want to see these shows over the crime and drama shows that they all love to show way too much of.

  • I remember this show and the synth-pop theme! I was a sophomore in college. Do I feel old. :)

  • I loved these twins sooooo much when I was younger!!! I miss them!!!!!

  • OMG I loved this show! I remember being sad when it ended. I agree with xxoxia - TV just isn't the same now.

  • @tobar9561

While we are on the topic of people who are the same age, Amy Pietz (of Caroline in the City fame) and I are the same number of "days" old! Now you did not get much cooler than that!

  • Wow...Dutch from "Soap", Jill Taylor from "Home Improvement" and Peggy Bundy's sisters! Didn't David Garrison, the guy that played Steven Rhoades on 'Married...with Children', also appear on this show?

  • I'm surprised no one noticed Patricia Richardson from Home Improvement!

  • Liz Sagal's character was like Alex P Keaton... Micheal J Fox's character from Family Ties

  • Wait a second, the same font was used on fellow Embassy-produced show "The Facts of Life" in seasons 2-6.

  • There's no way they could ever make TV like this, ever again. It's just completely ruined now.

  • @xxoxia All of these program executives have gotten away from programming like this is the problem. Now all they want to show is crime and drama shows, reality shows, or any other garbage you can think of! That is why I am fighting to get USA UP ALL NIGHT back on and have a website called usaupallnight that you can google. I am fighting to bring back better programming on TV!

  • @RobBase086 - Dude, if you could do it, that would be awesome. You might have your work cut out for you though. All the ratings for today's garbage are high because of stupid, brainwashed kids that are told by the new MTV, to think that reality shows are cool. They have no idea what an actual family sitcom is, other than the stupid shit Nickelodeon produces for kids. If TV changed back into this, the kids of today wouldn't know what to think of it. They'd be bored due to lack of CGI.

  • @xxoxia I am working on it. I have been working on trying to get programming back to its natural way now for 4 years. I have ran into people who do not want to see change though. That is the problem and I agree with you that they have todays generation brainwashed all right. I cannot stand some of the programming of today at all. That is why I stay away from the main channels because they do not show what I want to watch.

  • @RobBase086 it's the programming in the first place that is all messed up and I wonder if most of these old shows were ever archived in event someone wanted to bring them back. The days of good basic network TV are behind us when it comes to NBC, CBS, ABC, and perhaps FOX after the Simpsons et al finally go off the air give or take syndication. Only problem with network TV is I doubt they would get the advertising dollars needed to support running these old shows through syndication.

  • @RobBase086 at this point in time, I have no interest in DVR, no interest buying cable packages, and have yet to turn my analog/digital converter box back on because I think TV just sucks. Last good channel I did watch though was This-TV mainly because they showed good movies from the 20th century that never got much exposure as well as aired The Outer Limits, Patty Duke, and Mr. Ed.

  • @RobBase086 as you might have guessed I just don't keep up with the joneses any more. I'm a decade or two behind what is current. Still working on Newsradio at this point in time LOL! The older shows are where they are at and what is old to someone is new to someone else. Take your pick like the ABC Afterschool Programming line up. I want to say last good viable decades might have been 1990-2010 and even the decades before that time frame was when TV was still good.

  • @RobBase086 the medium has just morphed into the digital age. My internet doubles as my cable bill. I liked the programming back then when it was still 2-13 and fewer cable channels. I think it would be cool to see these old shows on regular TV even the ones that unfairly/fairly got crappy ratings and more power to you if you could get the advertising money to back old syndicated programming. Anything is possible. Good luck in your pursuits.

  • Anybody know the title of the theme song? I kinda like it....

  • Sorry spell their name wrong Sagal

  • Damn I uses to watch this show back in the day on NBC. I had the biggest crush on Liz Segal. They were the blueprint to Sister,Sister and Sweet Valley High. And here some trivia they are the half sisters to Married with Children's Kate Segal

  • @GangstaMojo

I had heard about them being younger sisters to Katie Sagal. However, I did not know that they were half-sister and not full sisters. Thank you for the information!

  • WOW! I forgot about this show! Thanks for posting this.

  • don't rememebr this.

  • This was the closest thing that Gen X had to the Patty Duke Show

  • if this show came out today- they would already have done a MAXIM spread

  • Wow...I remember watching this on Saturdays on USA network (before they became the Law and Order network). As for the network run, I was but 2 in 1984, lol.

  • I remember this show. Saturday nights, IIRC. Right after a show called "It's Your Move" starring Jason Bateman and Marcy's first husband from Married With Children.

  • Never heard of this show

  • dAM! i forgot about Doube Trouble ... I loved those two so girls much, HOT HOT HOT girls! I just popped a woody like I did when I was 14. =))

  • Thank God there are people up here who remember Double Trouble, wow, and thanks!

  • Twins from Grease 2 right?

  • @Axemen666 yep.

  • It would have been hot if these two chicks in the show had twin sister lesbian sex with strap-ons. That's hot!

  • Hey, I hate to ask, but can you possibly repost this with better audio? It's hard to hear, even with my volume up all the way. Thanks :)

  • do you have the closing credits of this show with the Embassy Television logo? Can you please upload it if you do?

  • geez i didn't know the wife from Home Improvement was the mom. i use to love this show so much when i was a kid.

  • Their older sister is Pam Sagal from Married with Children and Futurama. I was blown away when I found that out since I always loved this show.

  • @brbgal ,one small correction..... It's Katey Sagal (not Pam) from Married with Children (Peg Bundy) and yes you are correct Jean and Liz Sagal are her younger sisters. most people don't know that and it's a suprise when they learn that info.

  • @kranktank I agree w u da dad is hot. He played on an episode on Golden Girls he looked great.

  • @VeniceBeachBabyyy The Dad Was Also On "Soap"!

  • @ThePaddyjoejr1 Yep, he was "Dutch".... Just like the Dad fron Blossom was on Soap....

  • I also remember when this was rerun on USA network in the early 90's. I would watch the beginning just to hear the awesome theme song and then turn it off.

  • the dad is hot

  • I don't know about anyone else...but these chicks TOTALLY remind me of the 90's pornstar FLAME!!!! AND yet, X 2!!!!! \m/ \m/ \m/

Side note... the tool man's future wife is here! LOL!!!

  • Wish someone has the series on here. That would be great

  • at first as a kid I found out tht they are related to katey segal aka peg bundy.

  • dads the doc on battlestar galactica

  • So was Pat Richardson their dad's girlfriend?

  • I have sometimes wondered what ever happened to those two twins.

  • Comment removed

  • They used to show this on the USA Network back in the late 80's & early 90's, and thats when I saw it ( never saw it during it's network run ). The second season ( where they're in New York city ) was better.

  • This theme kicks that theme's ass.

  • "Newhart" used this as the premise for an episode: Michael produced a sitcom called "Double Trouble" starring Dick as the dad and Stephanie played both sisters. He'd call "them" by saying "Twin daughters!" It was hilariously awful, but it was meant to be and a nice quasi-tribute to this short-lived show.

  • Before the where the Olsens, there where the Sagals.

  • Comment removed

  • Why wasn't this show popular? The theme by itself makes this show great.

  • Omg never knew patricia richardson(Home Improvement mom),was on this

  • I love shows like this from the 80's my favorite webster including emmanuel lewis

  • It looks like their big sister "Peg Bundy" was the only actress in the family that played on a show that lasted longer than one season.

  • @BigBlueBeast SHE'S their sister? .. They sure dont resemble her a damn bit!!

  • Holy Shit

  • I was in love with Liz and Jean Sagal. I watched the show just to see them back in the day. It was a great show. I wish they made shows like this nowadays.

  • @irvinetustin Yea, I used to watch this show too when I was a young teen and thought they were the cutest girls I've ever seen!!! I loved them too!!!! :)

  • @irvinetustin

    back off, they are mine.

  • ....THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!!!;>)

  • What is the name of the song? it's catchy.

  • Does anyone know the lyrics to this song?

  • Why don't TV sitcoms have themes like this anymore?

  • Why don't networks have slogans like "Let's All Be There" anymore?

  • @Edgehead10075 Because that's time that could be spent airing commercials. Even the most popular TV shows today get ratings that would have gotten them canceled within three weeks back in 1985. To make up for it, the networks demand far more ad time.

  • Nice theme!

  • I love themes from the eighties.

  • Who sang the theme?

  • Donnelly Rhodes appeared in an episode of The Golden Girls as one of the guys that I think Blanche dated and dumped. I also did not know the mom from Home Improvement was on this. This is from 1984, 10 years before she was on Home Improvement which was BIG on TV in 1994. She looks really hot and young!

  • Damn.. the mom from Home Improvement was a Hottie..

  • @klabkebash she still is

  • Yes she did . And I never realized the Father on here was the Doctor on BSG !

  • Wow were they cute!!

  • They look like their older sis Katey, too.

  • @Edgehead10075 No they dont! They're much prettier than she is.

  • @Edgehead10075 they do look like katie segal when they smile!

  • @lol21432 , well since they are the Real life younger sisters of Katey Sagal. your right they do look like her when they smile.

  • @Astraldragon1 I see no resemblance to her at all. For one thing, these girls are quite a bit prettier. Also, its weird to think that they're HER sister considering that these girls were teenagers and she was a grown woman playing a mother of two kids, close to these girls age, on another tv show during about this same period !

  • This was an absolutely awesome show! The Sagal twins have great comedic timing (& Katey too). :)

  • It's too bad that nobody watched the show.

  • I would have never guess that Liz and Jean were Katey Sagal sisters, how cool!

  • Holy crap--I didn't realize Patricia Richardson from "Home Improvement" was on this show, at least for the first season.

  • That NBC bumper really took me back. It was NBC at it's best. Now I only watch that channel to see what's the weather going to be like tomorrow. sad.

  • For some reason I thought this show was on longer than it was...

  • OMG!!!! I used to love this show! I found this by chance....Can't wait to find more. This show rocked!

  • NBC in the 80's rocked!

  • @MsFarzee I miss the 80's so bad.

  • @MsFarzee I totally agree that back during the 80's NBC did have some of the great programs to watch! What ever happened to that kind of programming? I wished that NBC would show more of that rather than the crime and drama shows that they show now on there! I will be adding this to the usaupallnight website because I remember watching this in reruns on USA Network back when it had better programming than what they have now!

  • This show was such a spank fest.

Thank god for this show when I hit puberty

these chicks were so hot in leotards

  • No, he's right. They are Peggy Bundy's sisters.

  • Comment removed

  • mylaser91: what the fuck is so hard to understand??? PEGGY BUNDY WAS NOT IN THIS SHOW ! O.K. I'll explain like I would to a 5 year old. You see the two pretty girls that look like each other? Those are called TWINS! Those two girls were in a TV show called Double Trouble. This show went bye bye. The two pretty girls were not on TV anymore. Those two girls IN REAL LIFE (NOT ON TV) have an older sister. That sister WHO WAS NEVER ON THIS SHOW played Peggy Bundy. Her name? Katey Sagal ! !

  • i dont c peggy bundy, i c the mom from home improvement, someones mistaken, watched the show all the time. to young to remember what it was about, i know they were the twins.lol...memories

  • know it's true...the two daughters are younger sisters of Katey Segal from Sons of anarchy & of coarse Married with children.

  • mylaser91: Twins Liz and Jean Sagal featured in this show are real-life sisters with Katie Sagal who played Peggy Bundy on Married With Children. Katie Sagal (Peggy Bundy) was not in this show. And yes, Pat Richardson played Jill Taylor on Home Improvement. Hope that clears things up.

  • Holy crap! Their dad was Doc Cottle?!

  • forget Davinci... Donnelly was awesome in DANGER BAY! Classic Canadian series...

  • brings back memories.... use to luv this show with Liz and Jean...I remember them in Grease II as the two cheerleaders.....LOL wonder how they are doing now.????

  • That dad used to star on Danger Bay.

  • pat richardson? didnt she play the mom in home improvement???? wow!!!

  • @luckyc120 Yes she did after this.

  • @luckyc120 Yep, That's Her!

  • @luckyc120 You betcha. She was Jill Taylor, Tim's wife.

  • @luckyc120 She did. Surprise how long it can take to get a another gig on a prime time show.

  • @luckyc120 Pat Richardson the woman from Double Trouble first.

  • @luckyc120 Yeah, but on Home Improvement she was known as Patricia Richardson.

  • legwarmers and ponytails were the bomb!

  • @stargirlnextdoor you can't hate that.

  • I used to watch this on USA too when I was younger, I don't remember the premise but I do remember the twins and the theme! What crapy memories!

  • why have i never heard of this show

  • never knew this was on NBC..I used to watch it on USA Network when they showed sitcom reruns. Just noticed that Pat Richardson was on the show too..I remember the 2nd season more that the 1st where the girls went to live with their Aunt Margeaux in NY I think it was..and 2 guys that either lived with her or helped her..

  • they have got to put this out on DVD or something- this was such a cool show

  • I LOVED this show and I also liked this season better b/c of theme song.

Season 1's theme song is much better than Season 2's

and BTW, Patricia Richardson also starred in the short-lived NBC Series FM and she went on to greater success with Home Improvement and Strong Medicine and she even guest starred on Quantum Leap and The Cosby Show, Donnelly Rhodes is an actor born in Canada, God Bless NBC and Embassy Television.

The 80's RULES and I would LOVE t see this show on WGN America or TV Land.

  • Probably the only show I know of involving young twins where one wasn't "wacky" and the other bookish

  • when i was a little boy i loved this show! i remember asking my daddy if we had any family in new york because i wanted to be like these girls! later in the show the girls moved to new york. good memories!

  • Brandon Tartikoff, NBC's chief programmer who gave the "green light" to the series in the first place, once described it as "a lighthearted throwback to 'THE PATTY DUKE SHOW'". And indeed, this was one of his "typical" teen comedies of the '80s. He tried "tweaking" it when it returned in the middle of the 1984-'85 season (with Kate & Allison moving to New York to live with "Aunt Margo"), adding a pair of guys nicknamed "The Funny Boys" {Jonathan Schmock & James Vallelly} to the cast...

  • Does anyone have the season 2 opening theme. As I recall it was significantly different.

  • does anyone know where i can watch this? i know where to buy it, but i'd rather watch it.

  • Twins! Every man's fantasy - one to cook and one to clean.

  • Damn, I didn't know that the chick from Home Improvement was on the show. LOL.

  • Wow, the Sagals sure are a great looking family aren't they? :)

  • WOW!! Patrcia looked so much different on Home Improvement!! She is my favourite actress. I've never actually seen any episodes of Double Trouble but i really want to cos I want to watch Pat in shows other than Home Improvement and Strong Medicine....

  • "Pat Richardson" is Patricia Richardson of Home Improvement. WOW.

  • this show kind of reminded me of the twins from that popular book series createdby Francine Pascal called "Sweet Valley High". Both the show & books came out around the same time.

  • Loved Sweet Valley High...omg forgot all about those books!

  • I can't believe I found this on here, thank you for bringing back the memories, I LOVED this show as a teen in the 80's! I was watching an older epi of LOST the other night and Katey Segal was on it, that's when I remembered her two sisters from Double Trouble and decided to see if good ole YouTube had anything. Thanks!!!

  • I can't believe I came across this.. I loved this show.. Epecially season 2 where they move to New York City.. thanx for the upload.:)

  • I used to spank it to this show.

  • Anybody remember the one where one of the girls danced in a 1980's aerobics outfit?

  • Does anyone have episodes of this?

  • That was Patricia Richardson before she was Jill Taylor on "Home Improvement"!!!

  • This needs to get on DVD. I was so in love with Liz Sagal when I was a kid... or was it Jean?

  • Does it matter?

  • I loved this show! Why isn't it on DVD???

  • OMG! I had forgotten this show even existed until I ran across it today. I remember watching it when I was eight years old.

  • I wish someone would put some of the series on here, please

  • Saul & Bernie, what a hit machine.

  • THANK YOU For this so much!! wow i am not crazy this did come on! LOL
