Philippine Combat Judo is the combination of Arnis and Judo... Arnis performer is good in using stcks and knife while judo is good in throwing and grapling... Junior judoka cannot understand this until they become 1st dan... Although this is my first time to see the movement of combat judo but I know that this is effective movement because I am a senior judoka and arnis performer...
PEOPLE, RELETED CRAP SUCH AS THIS IS FAR TOO DIFFERENT TO ACTUAL FIGHT. you didn't even noticed my fingers... and u think that's it? nice demo though.
use your stupid brains. this is 100% not judo, not the attacker nor the defender. and also, in a fight, the attacker will not put the knife out so easily to allow u to anticipate where it will go. the attacker will stab you when both of you all are close together. knife is a sharp object that requires very little force to pierce through you. those big big swings will simply be blocked
Good Technique .. but there's few points to consider #1 Rule - Run Away when dealing with knife attacker stay in a safe zone #2 When you disarm the knife don't throw it back to the attacker #3 Don't raise your hands up.. keep it down otherwise you might get slash.. just a few tips.. overall good technique. =) Thanks!
i wonder why filipinos like you picked a foreign country`s martial art? judo is about throwing as it was invented by jigoro kano as softer version of japanese jiu-jitsu. why not sticking to arnis/kali/escrima???
1. its good that u use a real knife for purposes of experiencing the adrenaline rush, but it'd be good to practice with a fake one too so u can go full speed
2. careful with the part that u give the knife back, cuz u might get used to it and in real life, u give the knife back too..this happened for real, with a gun, and the aikido guy got shot
1. We are using real knife to perfect the execution of disarming w/o damaging our hand as preparation in real street fighting. We are practicing basic disarming, fast disarming & combat disarming with full speed using real knife w/o fear & hesitation.
2. As far as time is concerned, i gave the knife just to minimized the video. try to watch the continuation of this video "national combat judo - knife defense technique part 1".
There's no firm knife defense and this won't work effectively on the street. an attacker will use the other hand to grab/block your opposite arm to make way for his knife thrust.Watch Thailand Knife attack.
On street fighting, we are using maximum pressure nerve attack w/ combination of combat judo in order not to recounter or to paralyze the attacker. However, this technique is not applicable on this video because it is only a demo of our basic self defense (basic blocking, disarming & locking). We will show this application on our next video "Intermediate Street Self Defense of National Combat Judo".
Can you tell me anything about the effectiveness of FMA? In sparring, exercise, and actual combat? I was thinking about learning it, that or Jeet Kune Do.
Watch the attacher's left free hand. Why is he not using it? Because if he did, these techniques wouldn't work. He would also attach with his left hand if he really wanted to kill you.
I have to disagree just because i know that while in these moves if ur locked up, and decide to throw a punch all he has to do is tweak or apply just the slightest amount of pressure and YOUR HAND WILL DROP, so know he cannot use his left hand to attack with..
He doesn't use his left hand because he's using it for balance. I've studied some Asian martial arts teqniques(spelled wrong?) and they usually rely heavily on balance and coordination rather than strength.
This video is only the basic technique of nacomju. Feel free to watch our intermediate Street Self Defense "National Combat Judo - Knife Defense Technique Part I" and observe the left free hand of the attacker.
no. no. in real fight it is quicker. the attacher's hand will be broken in a split seconds. The harder you attacker the greater the chance your hands will be broken
Good vidio showing basics of a knife defense-practise time and time again to build up muscle memory- thanks-oldsgtmajusmc in clrksville tn usa

but the attacker will not attack in full power, and with a faks knife you can,
pmaojo 4 years ago 2
pmaoio, in practice, if you attack in full power, and the defense will execute correctly, you hand will be broken

yes. When I was in High School , I fought against two and both bigger than me. I kick there balls and gouge there eyes, then I ran.
Then we are wanted by the school principal.
Seriously this is effective in real fight

the point of using a real knife is to make it realistic though - it's STUPID to use a real knife and not have proper attacks
