I love the Hunting Rifle, it's so good at what it does, defend against long range attacks while the AR does good mid range, with the Shotgun doing the close range work. I used to like the AR over the HR, but now it's different, and I also started to dislike Thirdpersonshoulder after a while.

Auto shottie is best then hunting rifle then m16 because m16 runs out of ammo to quick hunting rifle sucks at short range and auto shottie dosent have bad reload it's best for tank at medium range it's still good and I killed smoker with 3 shots and at long range I killed boomer with 7 shots

In truth you don't need a sniper to hit tank rocks but it is a very powerful weapon for killing the specials, if you truly need to skeet the rock an auto shotty will do the job but you have enough range of movement to dodge them on that rock.

Yeah I tend to use the sniper rifle often, especially on levels like Blood Harvest 4 when I speedrun to the saferoom almost always, then take a sniper and cover my mates as they come in. Not long ago I shot throught 2 of the metal ribs of the bridge and through 2 walls into the head of a hunter on Bill, shows how much penetration they have.

There is actually one reason why people dont use hunting rifle , first of all its not gunna kill the tank that quickly and second people are afraid of friendly fire , especially in expert which is scary.

back when i made this video the command "thirdperson" was not cheat protected. it is now. you can still do it with "thirdperson_shoulder", however.

note that console commands can only be done in the pc version and that for a more full explanation you should see my videos discussing console commands (i explain how they work and different commands you can use to accomplish that end).

It's my favorite weapon. ;-)

Instant-kill on common infected plus penetrating power when they're clumped up = tons of fun. The only places where I use something else are the finales (where I switch to auto-shotty). And having the best headshot score is nice too. Of course, if you're like me your kill number will be lower than those with the shotguns...but you're making sure those smokers don't get them from afar!

lol something like this changed my mind and i cant keep my hands off of the hunting rifle now :D I got told it realods half as fast as an empty shotgun has 1.5 as much ammo and its basically as powerful. Changed my mind completely :D great vid btw 5/5 :D

yeah, its a nice gun if you've got the aim for it. the only weakness the gun has is that you can't solo a tank with it, but you should have a team for that (or pistols in any case).

i mean, its not a perfect gun, but none of them are perfect, and if you enjoy using it, that's what counts :D

The hunting rifle is a great gun. you may consider this stupid but ill tell my freinds to go on a little ways and ill just stay somewhere high and snipe everything then once they are the farthest they can be while still being in my sight i tell them to gaurd me and i sprint like theres a chocalot bar at the end and my freinds will cover me while i get to there position. Huh. I was just screwing around with the hunting rifle, and I noticed that headshots with it fling the recipient. Meaning, a dead hunter/smoker/boomer flying across the map, or (as everyone knows by now) a stumbling witch knocked several meters away. The only ones it doesn't do that to are tanks and common infected, probably because tanks don't register headshots and common infecteds' heads aren't attached as firmly (though that doesn't explain flying boomers).

this is (to my knowledge) only available on the pc version of the game. from options, go to "keybaord" and then switch "allow developers console" from "disabled" to "enabled". then just hit the '~' key below the 'esc'.
