Its clearly anti lag compare it to the noise of any group B rally car or contemporary turbo'd drag car and you'll get it.

What it does is delay the spark in one cylinder so the fuel exits the engine unburnt. The fuel hits the turbo before the exhaust valve closes. The spark then fires the fuel inside the turbo spooling it up, hence anti lag,

The shotgun effect out the back is the resulting explosions being uncontained obviously it fires once every engine cycle hence multiple bangs

Nope, he's nowhere near the limiter (unless he set it at 4K-something RPM).

Also, a turbo creates backpressure. As a result of that, any regular backfire will happen between the engine and the turbo, leaving the turbine's fanblades to damp the shockwave and thus the sound.

You can get the occasional big bang when some fuel does manage to reach the turbo before combusting, but not at that frequency.

So yeah, that's definitely an anti-lag system.

Pop back is what you get from excess fuel being spent at the very point the revs starts to drop from peak (limiter hits) and the excess fuel is not spent properly and ignites through the exhaust (or turbo in turbo cars) exhaust turbo pushes it faster through the exhuast than N/A, but same theory applies in N/A. especially on De-Cat cars...like my focus rs!

excess of oil gets into the exhaust and the heat from the rest of the exhaust causes the oil to catch fire and create a small explosion, and that is what your seeing come out of the exhaust pipe.

ha... nah it's over fueling that causes it. This usually happens when there is a turbo present pumping more fuel that is burned into the chamber. That unburnt fuel "oil" then catches fire due to extreme heat while leaving the exhaust.
