@MartenFerret actually, dentists today have said that it's a bad idea to brush right after you eat: the acids and sugars in the food weaken the enamel, which you then brush off (brush off the enamel, that is) if you brush right after.

Most dentists nowadays recommend brushing BEFORE you eat, so to give your teeth a protective layer, but not immediately after, or if you still want to after, wait at least an hour or so.
