  • I would like to try it too! :) But I have never seen in srael the (macha) green tea powder :-/ Do you think I could grind the green tea to the powder level and use it? Or is it absolutelly different?

  • @alinats1979 you're welcome to try grinding your own green tea powder, but I think it would be best to search out for a proper source for matcha.

  • @murky2 Thank you! I'm already searching the eBay for it. I've checked my green tea, and it's not the same species. The matcha is not the name of the powder, apparently, but of the species/kind of tea. It looks different. Thanks again :)

  • Hi, I have some questions, how come batter came out so watery, the batter wasn't thick enough as I saw from your video. And when I beat the sugar and the yolk, do I need to make sure the sugar is totally melted? And Do I need to kind of leave the mascapone cheese in room temperature first before beating it? Can you please please reply as soon as possible because I need to make it for someone important and the birthday is on 11/24. THANK YOU.

  • Oh my gosh! I have to try this. thanks for the recipe :D

  • We tried out the recipe! It turned out pretty well, we just made some mistakes here and there with whipping the cream too much and forgetting the double boiler and not warming up the cheese to room temperature. But all in all, it was very tasty. My brother enjoyed it and he is a very very picky eater. Thanks for the recipe!

  • "o what the heck" sounded like mrs doubtfire lols

  • I have a question... do we have to leave it overnight to set? Or can we just have it set for an hour or two?

  • @cordyz23 - You've got to refrigerate the tiramisu for at least a couple of hours to set.

  • May i know 2, 8 oz tubs of mascarpone cheese equal to how many gm?

  • @vJin - 16 ounces of mascarpone is 453.59237 grams.

  • I did this, but I cut down the sugar, not bad, is delicious.... it is easy, you can try it^^

  • @staceychoong - thanks for the report back. I'm glad you like our easy green tea-ramisu recipe!

  • looks very good!~ I'll try to make it next time!~ Thanks ^_^

  • @suki815 - if you do make our green tea-ramisu, please come back and tell us how it turned out for you!

  • How did you manage to get the cake out of the pan without it breaking and getting all messy? :0

  • We made the tiramisu in a springform pan, which can separate the sides of the pan from the bottom.

  • why you didn't use the egg whites? :) thnxs

  • because the egg whites will cause the cake to "weep". It's the yolk fat that keeps it stable. Do you have a recipe that calls for full eggs?

  • ohhh maaaiii ghhhaaadd.. i want some!

  • looks so yummy! how do you make the ladyfingers stand around the pan? iheydid not fall while you were spreading the mixture even if it was being disturbed...

  • There's no trick to it - what you see on the vid is how we did it. Hope you get to try it out yourself!

  • @annacmanuel he cuts da bottom

  • @Starlight007 - yes! we cut the rounded end off one side of the ladyfinger cookie to make it straight so we could stand it up like a fence. If you watch the vid, you can see that we used those little cut end pieces in the bottom of the tiramisu cake.

  • I stumbled upon this vid and now I'm eager to make it!

    thanks for the instructions

  • looks super sweet, is it? cause i wanna try making this. but im only 19 how do i get the wine?

  • not too sweet.

how about asking someone older to get it for you

  • Hi Murky2, can you tell me the website to buy your green tea powder, and pls let me know how to make the green tea, you used the green tea leaves or tea bag and what's the qty? many thx.

  • we bought the powder from a Japanese grocery store. You might be able to find it from a specialty tea shop or online store.

We made the green tea using loose leaf green tea, brewed strongly.

  • hi Murky2, i've seen you put too much green tea powder, is it too bitter??

  • Lily, what makes you think it's too much?

  • 1st, usually the among of mascarpone you used should be 2 teaspoons of green tea powder(just my opinion) as I know if you put too much green tea powder and it will be so bitter. pls be reminded that you also put the lady fingers to the green tea too(but I don't know how strong is the green tea)

2nd, I think the green color is too dark, if it is little bit lighter and it looks more delicious.

Can you tell me if it is taste a bit bitter?

  • Lily, the green tea powder wasn't too bitter, and the green tea soaking was pretty light as well. In my opinion, the overall taste was well balanced. You noticed the green tea flavor but it was not overwhelming.

Try making the recipe and tell me what you think!

  • have you tried sake instead of grandmarnier? its really good

  • is the heavy cream whipped cream?

  • Yes, the heavy cream is whipped.

  • thanks, also there's 3 layers of lady fingers right?

'cause u only said final 3rd layer or sumthing...

  • yes, there are three layers.

  • I cant find the green tea powder anywhere ! where can i find it ? ...please ... also where is the best place to buy lady fingers ?

    thank u

  • You can find the matcha powder at a Japanese grocery or a tea store that carries green tea. We buy our lady fingers at Trader Joe's.

  • Nice and delicious! I like green tea flavour. Have you got recipe of green tea cookie?

  • How many ladyfingers do we need to make it in the 9" springfoam pan?

  • You'll need a couple boxes of ladyfingers.

  • How I miss living in SF :)

Do you recommend a particular matcha powder? I suspect you purchase your matcha in Japantown? Or if not, online?

blk --- former resident of SF and foodie :)

  • We got the matcha at a Japanese grocer. It wasn't cheap, either.

  • Yummmy!! This is the best Tiramisu recipe/tutorial I've seen! The green tea gives the mascarpone such a gorgeous color! Must try this! ;)

  • aloha, i have a quick questions. how big is the spring form pan? also where can i get it? walmart? I'm planning to make your receipt!

  • It was a 9 inch pan. You probably should be able to find it at Wal*Mart. Let me know how you do!

  • looks good! yum :D

will it taste alright if i don't add grand marnier? is there anything non-alcoholic i can add to replace it?

  • Sure, you can leave it out.

  • Looks delicious! Would like to try make this sometime.

A question though, how do you take the tiramisu out from the pan after it's set?

  • It's a springform pan. You can remove the outside ring and just leave the bottom.

  • Nice finger nail polish i like the color

  • Thanks! It's OPI, don't remember the name already...

  • instead of using heavy cream, can I use normal cream or light cream?

  • Regular cream, probably. Don't know about using light cream.

  • i like the way you arranged it in a circular pan with a wall of lady fingers around the edge. All the other vids have it in a casserole dish or bread pan, and it's not free-standing like your's. Cool idea. Thanx!

  • seems interesting! thanks for sharing :)

  • O my goodness, this sounds freaking awesome. I've NEVER heard of using matcha for tiramisu--is this your own recipe?

  • thank you murky2!! i want to make it so badly but i cant find the green tea powder in the supermarket!! -_-

  • If you have a Japanese or large Asian grocery near you, you can find it there. It's called "Matcha".

  • b4 adding the green tea powder? the cheeses already green??? they have green mascarpone cheese?

  • we already added some green tea powder in a previous, unseen take.

  • mmm! that looks really tasty! i gotta try that with my brother... he likes tea

  • It looks so good! I'm gonna try to make it thanks for the recipe!
