  • The price is $64 (including shipping) for the 15" Macbook Pro Model. In addition, how does the Koolsink make contact with the bottom of the Macbook? There are rubber feet on my Macbook that would prevent contact between the laptop and the Koolsink. If the metal surfaces do not make contact, then the heatsink will not be effective.

  • those are like my most favorite laptops!

  • looks more like a stand than something to cool. i doubt it works, and i also doubt he knows how to see if it works other than by "feeling" it.

  • Acutally, believe it or not soldier, I monitor my temps and fan speeds regularly on both iMac and the laptop especially when operating CPU intensive apps. Sorry but I'm not going to spend the time to post another video, tho. Thanks for sharing your opinion -_^

  • I received the Koolsink in the mail today! Very happy with it so far, especially designed to look pimperish with my 2011 Macbook Pro laptop. Great cooling stand IMO!

  • lol didnt see da price :) btw i live in aus so i dont know if day have it here

  • How much was this?

  • I have been using the KoolSink for about 2 weeks now. I really like it. I don't notice it cooling my MBP 15" run at a cooler temp, but it does add a much needed angel to the laptop.

I do have one complaint: the design has a lift at the front of the stand that rubs up on the corners of my MBP. As a result, it has scratched my MBP in the front corners due to the weight of the laptop sliding down. I'm not too happy about it!!

  • i have cooler master x2. i bet none of the laptop cooler will work on macbooks.

NONE of them is going to work.

    i don't see any improvement.

It will definitely work on normal laptop but not on macbooks.

because macbook does not have any hole at the bottom so not even 100 dollars worth cooler won't work.

  • I like this simply for angling the macbook on my desk, but I doubt that it actually cools the laptop.

  • Thank you for the data, but where is it sold?

  • Cooling Data

Now, since the main selling point of the Koolsink are the cooling abilities I have thought up a personal cooling test to test out the fanless cooling of the Koolsink. I have decided to proceed this way:

after the Macbook has been shut down for at least 5 hrs I booted it up and have started a scan with ClamXAV (a virus scanner for OS X that uses a lot of performance and heats up the Macbook pretty good).

I let ClamXAV run for 30 minutes and measured the temperature by using iStat (a

  • Can you do some temp tests with and without the stand!? so that we can see the measurable cooling difference it makes.
