The second one I got as a replacement took forever to produce vapour and heat up the cart. When it did finally kick into gear it was actually ok. Though a battery life of 8-12 hours is nothing like I experienced with it. I'd be lucky to get 2 hrs out it. The carts last longer then other ecigs though which is a positive. After 4 days however
this review is very old now and i believe back then they used longer, higher capacity batteries........plus battery life will differ from one person to the next depending on how much that person uses it.

I recieved my intellicig on tuesday and today 14/05/10 i took it out of the packaging charged it for 3 hours untill the light went green. I then screwed on the vapouriser and removed the dummy cartridge and replaced it with a full one. I took several draws on the intellicig the battery was lighting up as it should but there was no vapour at all. I have tryed different cartridges and done the same process multiple times and there is still no vapour.

Good video Scott. I just wanna ask one thing. There is lot of smoke coming out of your mouth. I try hard, alsmot five seconds, with full new cartridge and I get maybe 20% of your smoke. Where could be the problem? I dont have the liquid yet, just spare cartridges.
all i do is take long drags with a medium to heavy inhale and dont keep the vapour held inside for too long. how old is your atomiser? if its brand new then it may take a few days use before it "breaks in" or oif its very old then it might be time to replace it. get some e-liquid and direct drip a couple of drops onto the atomiser.

intellicig were the 1st company to produce e-liquid that was manufactured in the UK. because it was made in the UK, its likely to have been made in more strict working conditions.
ive only ever heard good things about the purity of their e-liquid and many have stated that it seems to make the atomisers last longer too!

jman 60000: I've not been doing this for terribly long yet (they ARE great, probably adding minutes to my life every time I don't light up--and I'm a 45 yr. smoker), but did study up from many YouTube and other sources before purchasing. Everything I've seen indicates that what you need to avoid is gunking up the atomizer filaments with anything NOT water soluble, such as an oil, or thick potentially crystalizing substances such as straight maple syrup. Might cost you around $15 to experiment.
I got the Evo today (after a week) and I think i underestimated it. I had a headache assumed it was a withdrawal, it was the opposite. Great thing although I'm not quite sure when to stop using it!
lol, the headache is a nicotine overdose! its very hard to stop puffing on a e-cig when you 1st get one but try and limit yourself. if you start getting a headache.......then thats when you need to stop!

Hey Nathan, I actually got my E-Liquid today. Was so excited, so took out that little cotton thing with tweezers added like two drops, then put it back in and added another drop. I then took a very light draw and got a mouth FULL of nicotine! OH MY! That was disgusting! I then got another cartridge and took it very easy with the drops, just added it to the top of the sponge. That seems to do the trick. Not the best though! Is the DSE084 better for the simple reason of not leaking?

2. get some paper towel and roll it up thin and tight.
3. then push this into the cart to soak up any excess liquid.
5. then wipe off any excess liquid on the outside of the small inner cart
6. now replace the small inner cart and gently push it down to the bottom of the cart. (use the pin or tweezers to push gently down on the EDGE of the small inner cart)
been using my EVO now for around a week. Finished 10 cartridges and had to revert back to analog. Just ordered some juice from TW. Went for the State Express 24mg, can't wait to start vaping again. I do it at work now and love it! No one minds :)

beedlzdude, I notice this occasionally too, you're drawing too hard-hard to explain, but I find if I take a steady firm (but not hard) draw i get a nice vape.
i find that a cartridge lasts for about the equivelant of 4 - 5 cigarettes. but rather than buying more cartridges its far more cost effective to buy e-liquid and refill your own carts.

I have been a solid smoker now for around 10 years. I have quit numerous times. I have read the book, "Allan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking". When I was younger I smoked, Stuyvesant Reds. All info you need to know: water, scent, propolyene glycerol, nicotine(optional). If ur cutting down your supposed to only take hits of the nicotine- nicotine can be bad for your heart (remember peeps with patch problems) the glycerol is pretty safe to ingest(its in medicine and cosmetics) but studies are lacking on the effect of inhaling it. E Cigs are very effective to stop smoking ive been cig-free for 3 weeks now. Spend the money to get the good E Cigs so you can get alot of smoke =)
Great Review!!! I have been looking for the best e-cig that actually looks like a regular cig for the last 2 days, and this one seems to be the best so-far. The only thing I would say I do-not care for is the 2min delay between hits, thats a little long.
yes, the 2 minute cut off is very annoying when it happens. but to be honest i rarely go over the 5 second drag which would activate that feature. you soon learn to time a drag well! i have another review coming soon on another e-cig which has been very good in my tests so far........oh, and no 2 minute cut off! its slightly bigger than the EVO though. might be worth watching before you decide!
no ive not tried them myself. $27 seems very cheap and i imagine that will be reflected in its quality. might be okay to get one just to see if you like them but i would advise purchasing from a trusted e-cig seller.
if you have managed to stop then i would say dont get one. e-cigs are just as addictive as cigarettes as they still have nicotine. thousands of people have purchased an e-cig in the hope of cutting down on cigarettes but have soon found that they quit real cigarettes without even trying. e-cigs are addictive but far, far healthier than a cigarette.
(you can get zero nicotine carts though so that might be an option for you)

hi mate, yes you can! when refilling the carts they last the same as the carts that come with it........about 5 - 7 cigarettes worth. i uploaded a new video yesterday showing how to top up, refill, drain atomiser and perform basic maintenance on the EVO....gonna send you the link mate.
Scott quick question for you... I have loads of RN4082 ecigs, they have a screw thread of 8.5mm will the EVO fit this size (ie for charging and possibly swapping out atomizers?). Great review btw!
hi mate, in short the answer is no! its a completely different model to the EVO. if you view it in terms of a belly button then the EVO atomiser has an "inny" connection and the RN4082 has an "outy" connection! so parts cannot be swapped between the 2 models.

I have a couple questions. So i understand that this doesnt have all of the chemicals in it like a real cigarette does. But does the nicotine still cause fabrics and what not to smell like what the smoke of a real cigarette. And will it still effect our lungs the way a real cigarette does?
hi mate, the vapour is odourless and the vapour it produces evapourates within 20 seconds or so of exhaling unlike real smoke which lingers in the air. its not nicotine that causes the smell in cigarettes. the smell is the burning paper and tobacco. an e-cig produces vapour without any burning of materials which is why there is no smell. you could lock yourself in a cupboard, vaping away, and it wont fill with "smoke" or nasty smells!
truth is no one really knows what the long term effects are of e-cig smoking. but lets put it this way....... a cigarette has over 4000 cancer triggering chemicals, an e-cig has none. i know what i would rather smoke!

hi mate,
intellicig were the 1st company to produce e-liquid that was manufactured in the UK. because it was made in the UK, its likely to have been made in more strict working conditions.
ive only ever heard good things about the purity of their e-liquid and many have stated that it seems to make the atomisers last longer too!

quite simply.........yes! although you are switching one addiction for another, but at least its safer than real cigarettes.
plus you can gradually lower your nicotine intake down to zero to wean yourself off the nicotine completely.
join an e-cig forum........you will find thousands of success stories from ex smokers who are now happy "vapers".

not water, but you can re fill the cartridges with e-liquid.
e-liquid comes in lots of different flavours and nicotine strengths and is far more cost effective than keep buying new cartridges :)

jman 60000: I've not been doing this for terribly long yet (they ARE great, probably adding minutes to my life every time I don't light up--and I'm a 45 yr. smoker), but did study up from many YouTube and other sources before purchasing. Everything I've seen indicates that what you need to avoid is gunking up the atomizer filaments with anything NOT water soluble, such as an oil, or thick potentially crystalizing substances such as straight maple syrup. Might cost you around $15 to experiment.

I got the Evo today (after a week) and I think i underestimated it. I had a headache assumed it was a withdrawal, it was the opposite. Great thing although I'm not quite sure when to stop using it!

lol, the headache is a nicotine overdose! its very hard to stop puffing on a e-cig when you 1st get one but try and limit yourself. if you start getting a headache.......then thats when you need to stop!
i try and treat them like a regular cigarette. when ever i get a nic craving i take 15 - 20 drags then put it down until i next get a craving.
go easy on that thing! lol

Hey Nathan, I actually got my E-Liquid today. Was so excited, so took out that little cotton thing with tweezers added like two drops, then put it back in and added another drop. I then took a very light draw and got a mouth FULL of nicotine! OH MY! That was disgusting! I then got another cartridge and took it very easy with the drops, just added it to the top of the sponge. That seems to do the trick. Not the best though! Is the DSE084 better for the simple reason of not leaking?

1. using a pin, push it thru the small hole in the cart and push out the small inner cart.
2. get some paper towel and roll it up thin and tight.
3. then push this into the cart to soak up any excess liquid.
5. then wipe off any excess liquid on the outside of the small inner cart
6. now replace the small inner cart and gently push it down to the bottom of the cart. (use the pin or tweezers to push gently down on the EDGE of the small inner cart)
then replace and vape away!

the DSE084 is a great little e-cig but the battery life is not very good.
you can get about 240 cigarettes worth of vaping from a 30ml bottle of juice.

been using my EVO now for around a week. Finished 10 cartridges and had to revert back to analog. Just ordered some juice from TW. Went for the State Express 24mg, can't wait to start vaping again. I do it at work now and love it! No one minds :)
Just some questions. I have noticed my EVO(atom battery) leaks quite a bit and the taste is not great. Have you encountered this problem? I have taken a notice to the DSE084. Thinking of selling my EVO for the DSE084 what do you think?

beedlzdude, I notice this occasionally too, you're drawing too hard-hard to explain, but I find if I take a steady firm (but not hard) draw i get a nice vape.

i find that a cartridge lasts for about the equivelant of 4 - 5 cigarettes. but rather than buying more cartridges its far more cost effective to buy e-liquid and refill your own carts.

I have been a solid smoker now for around 10 years. I have quit numerous times. I have read the book, "Allan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking". When I was younger I smoked, Stuyvesant Reds. I've tried Marlboro, Lucky Strike, B&H you name it and I must say felt invisible to it. I have asthma and then got sick often. It's been hard to stop. So I am really grateful 4 EVO. I actually thought of this idea years ago, but thought it was impossible to achieve THANKS EVO for thinking outside the box!

yep, you can get zero nicotine cartridges or even buy bottles of zero nicotine juice to refill your carts when they run out.
intellicig com sell zero nic carts and you can buy zero nic liquid from various other suppliers.

ps...zero nic carts will produce lots of vapour still, but you may lack a throat hit.

was on a plane out off Doncaster robin hood airport THOMPSON FLY to Barbados to join a cruise feb 28/ 09. was useing it for a couple of hours then got told they i couldnt use it on the plane even in the loo...i only got it for the 10 hour flight, but still useing it at the moment on my cruise in the bars so far.........!

i wonder if they really understood what it was as in the eye of the law you should be able to use it. the smoking ban only applies to the burning of tobacco products but without a doubt there will still be people who simply wont accept it. personally, i just wouldnt have told them or done it in front of everyone........sneaky trips to the loo every 15 mins should do the trick! lol

rather than buying new cartridges you can purchase the liquid nicotine in a bottlw so you can refill your own carts. miles cheaper than buying carts and you get better vapour, throat hit etc. check out my youtube channel for some juice reviews!

All info you need to know: water, scent, propolyene glycerol, nicotine(optional). If ur cutting down your supposed to only take hits of the nicotine- nicotine can be bad for your heart (remember peeps with patch problems) the glycerol is pretty safe to ingest(its in medicine and cosmetics) but studies are lacking on the effect of inhaling it. E Cigs are very effective to stop smoking ive been cig-free for 3 weeks now. Spend the money to get the good E Cigs so you can get alot of smoke =)

Great Review!!! I have been looking for the best e-cig that actually looks like a regular cig for the last 2 days, and this one seems to be the best so-far. The only thing I would say I do-not care for is the 2min delay between hits, thats a little long.

yes, the 2 minute cut off is very annoying when it happens. but to be honest i rarely go over the 5 second drag which would activate that feature. you soon learn to time a drag well! i have another review coming soon on another e-cig which has been very good in my tests so far........oh, and no 2 minute cut off! its slightly bigger than the EVO though. might be worth watching before you decide!

if you have managed to stop then i would say dont get one. e-cigs are just as addictive as cigarettes as they still have nicotine. thousands of people have purchased an e-cig in the hope of cutting down on cigarettes but have soon found that they quit real cigarettes without even trying. e-cigs are addictive but far, far healthier than a cigarette.
(you can get zero nicotine carts though so that might be an option for you)

hi mate, yes you can! when refilling the carts they last the same as the carts that come with it........about 5 - 7 cigarettes worth. i uploaded a new video yesterday showing how to top up, refill, drain atomiser and perform basic maintenance on the EVO....gonna send you the link mate.

Scott quick question for you... I have loads of RN4082 ecigs, they have a screw thread of 8.5mm will the EVO fit this size (ie for charging and possibly swapping out atomizers?). Great review btw!

hi mate, in short the answer is no! its a completely different model to the EVO. if you view it in terms of a belly button then the EVO atomiser has an "inny" connection and the RN4082 has an "outy" connection! so parts cannot be swapped between the 2 models.

I have a couple questions. So i understand that this doesnt have all of the chemicals in it like a real cigarette does. But does the nicotine still cause fabrics and what not to smell like what the smoke of a real cigarette. And will it still effect our lungs the way a real cigarette does?

hi mate, the vapour is odourless and the vapour it produces evapourates within 20 seconds or so of exhaling unlike real smoke which lingers in the air. its not nicotine that causes the smell in cigarettes. the smell is the burning paper and tobacco. an e-cig produces vapour without any burning of materials which is why there is no smell. you could lock yourself in a cupboard, vaping away, and it wont fill with "smoke" or nasty smells!
