@nisker29 that's like the dumbest mentality I've read...
You realize that only 3 PEOPLE out of hundreds walk away with money. That's like saying "oh let's not go, cuz only Daigo, John Choi, and Afrolegends will win money". Just go for the experience and hype, otherwise you'll never get better.
Imagine getting there and losing to a scrub on the first match. I believe that's worse than facing the most famous beat'em up player in the world and losing.
Imagine flying to the US to lose again Mike Tyson in his prime years. I don't see anything wrong with that besides the brain damage and broken teeth. Still an honor.
Wow! A lot more comments than last time I checked.
Yeah, I hard he felt more safe then Guile overall, but I highly highly doubt he was worried. This was my first time ever playing remix as well and Daigo's a beast. : )
Well I was at Evo and that was the word but unfortunately I don't have any proof other than that. I was watching the Afrolegends v Daigo warmups and I asked Kuni (Daigo's translator) why he was playing Guile and that was the explanation he gave me.
1) he was messing around, and it was free. probably the biggest reason why.
2) he wanted a challenge
3) he actually likes guile. and didn't really want to lose a game w/ his main char, even though they don't play console in japan. It would have still looked bad if he used ryu and didn't know spacing. but he honestly didn't care...it was just for fun he said.
lol that guy cant even kikoken properly

That's why there are multiple tournaments to enter, thankfully. I'd love the chance to fight Daigo, Wong, Mago, Yipes, Sanford, etc.

Esse cara facilitou muito o trabalho do Daigo.
Tenho certeza que jogo muito melhor do que ele.
Minha Chun-Li é bem melhor.

I'm really happy I had the chance to play him.

he avoided picking ryu until very late in the tournament because he did not want to mess up his sf4 ryu timing according to Kuni.

Where exactly did u hear or see that from? If there's a video of it then i would really love to see it! Thanks!

who won?

Between Afro and Daigo I'm not sure. It was a long set but you would have to find Afro and ask him lol.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why daigo picked guile? Hes a ryu mainer is he not???
ilovesmashbros 2 years ago
I'm guessing he wanted to be Guile instead of Ryu...but that's my guess.

Daigo play Ryu, Guile and O. Sagat in ST. He played Guile until ST when he started picking Ryu, because Ryu was alot better, best character in ST.
KaalVeiten 2 years ago
he's ryu in sf4, ken in 3rd strike, and ryu/guile in ssf2t
