  • wow you're such an amazing artist:)

    you inspire me :)

I'm a beginner and wanted to learn portraits.

May i ask you Madam Emily if you don't mind?

    What lens you use?

    thanks and God bless :)

    regards,

    duke

  • OMG THAT IS AMAZING!!! The pictures are so beautiful! I wish I could do that too..

  • I am a new fan. I love how you make lighting simple with just an AB1600 and the beauty dish. I am going to have to incorporate this in my photography. Now, I only shoot natural light even though I have the AB800 and large Octobox. It's just very large to take on location without an assistant.

  • Love your work! i think I love you already. lol

  • Emily, do you have an instructional DVD?. Your one of the few people i'd pay to get one from.

  • @CRANKYONE100 agree with you ! :)

  • You are very talented! Your work is awesome and I am loving the simplicity of your lighting on your location work.

I have a question about your choice of the Mola Setti 28 beauty dish - May I ask why you chose that modifier over, for instance, the 22" Alienbees white dish, especially considering that you had to modify it to use it with the B1600? Does it give a considerably different look? Or because it was a bit larger? These videos are awesome, by the way!

  • @turbostangtodd I chose it because it is larger. Thanks!

  • emily, i amazed your works

  • @sarachoki88 thanks!

  • Your work is wonderful Ms. Soto, but if you don't mind me asking...are you shooting at full power, 3/4, 1/2 and is that an Alien Bee flash head and Beauty Dish?, I'm just curious as I am a beginner myself. Thank you for your timely response :)

  • @olewis74 yes it is an Alien Bee 1600, I adjust the power based on the time of day.

  • Amazing job Emily! You're one of my favorites! : )

  • @TgPint Thank you for watching! Happy New Year!

  • Again 130% vidio, music and photographes. How do you do it ? and Congratulations to you whole teem.

    Dave

  • @Cheeryfireman Thanks Dave! Happy New Year!

  • Can I ask you a technical question. From your video, the sun is blazing and the strobe needs to over power the sun light a bit. Plus the camera cannot go over 250sec to close down the light and the Aperture must be at least f/9 to f/13 from more light entering... how did you get bokeh with the limit of 250/sec and low ISO. Looks like you are able to get down to f/2.8 or even lower... how is this accomplish due to the blazing sun and strobe lighting?

  • @mcheng102 I want to find that too :D

  • @mcheng102 Im not to expert :-) but you can use Neutral Density filters to cut down the ambient light so you can have a bigger apperture.

  • @aquaphotoboy yes I used an ND filter! :)

  • @mcheng102 2 ways. Using an ND filter to pull light out, or photoshop.

  • @mcheng102 yes I used an ND filter

  • @mcheng102 lots of options, ND filters, Telephoto lens, Hyper-Sync PW's or Photoshop :)

  • Gran trabajo! como siempre!

  • STUNNING WORK !!!

  • @tragamoscas Thank you!
