it isn't 1080p even with a hdmi cable. The games aren't capable. If you look on the back of a game case it says up to 720p. The only thing better about an hdmi and a component is the sound quality is better on an hdmi cable. IT is only worth it if you are watching a lot of bluray movies!

I have had my ps3 slim on for over 24 hours non stop before. But I have never had a problem with it. It's never over heated. And it's never loud. I would recommend a ps3 to anyone especially the slim I got the slim right around when it came out and have never had a problem with it. I acctually just bought another one today so now I have two 120gb slims and they're amazing!!!!

The ps3 fat CPU is 3.2ghz and it's GPU is 574mhz the ps3 slims CPU is a smaller overclocked version of the same cell chip it runs at 4ghz as for the GPU it's some new nvida GPU thats clocked at 724mhz

you guys are so stupid. You know why it loads during games? Because you have it on the settings of Blu-ray cache. If you have it on than it will stop reading the disc at times and will cause freezing and loading to load it back up. If you put it on off the disc will load all the time. So adjust your settings first before saying how one sucks because they don't. Retards!

@Dave18hot just cause the processor is smaller and faster in the slim (as ibm claims) doesnt mean the games would be faster loading from simply that, it still has to rely on the speed of the disc drive, that pause in the levels your talking about is when the disc drive has to read the disc and transfer data to the ram

I had the PS3 FAT and not a bother with it, no YLOD no game loading delays. i wud recommend the "FAT" version of PS3 cuz as it is bigger it has i think 6 fans inside i 4get but its something like that, and the PS3 "SLIM" only has like 2 or something, the slim overheats and reduces online performance, Thumbs up if u agree?

I've had moments where the in-game freezes, for whatever reason, last much longer than the normal 1 or 2 sec freeze times. There have been points where the freeze lasts like 10secs and I'm thinking the ps3 froze just to find out it was loading. Anyone else have these occasionally longer load times?

the freeze isnt processing power related, its due to killzone 2 not having an hdd install, and relying on the - frankly slow - blu-ray drive. the same thing happens on many games, on pretty much every platform, especially when saving checkpoints.

Both the ps3 and the slim have the same graphics its just the slim is built to take up less room and make people think theyre getting more than just a ps3
