  • Thavi, great job. But watch out for that pacifist, they (liberal Democrats) get us into war. We fought the Communists they support. All your pain comes from the Communist life, not the American soldier. The Dems got us in and yanked us out.

  • OMG I cried!

  • @MadHatter34784 Shame on you... u may be an ugly shit too,.l.

  • @Rocky86o

Why are you bitting back your own people? We all are human and make mistakes.

You are in a new land, you should band together, not ostricize one another. You are living in the land that you make fun of, you need to be thankful. Thavi's dad is not the ultimate power, he was order to do so.. if you ever served, you would understand. How about utilizing that hatred for good and represent the Laos people by being the few courageous enough to represent our heritage in the military!!

  • i was disappointed that the CAMP story wasn't told in the documentary. US lao kids should know about the struggling life for their mom & dad so they would never NERAKOON their mom & dad. GREAT story!

  • Thank you so much to finally have Laos become known. This is everything to my family and me.

  • someone tell where i can see the movie??

  • The translation is off, but the point got across. They just really summed up what she said in the text.

  • All i can say is Brilliant Brillant. Thank you to Thavi again.

  • movie was good... The mom sounds like my mom

  • Lao people never talk back to the people is older and power than us. Thats why, we never speaks about this for a long time. Now the truth has come out, I am so proud of Thavi, he has truely represent to all LAOS people. Why we here and and what happened.

  • all i can say is... thank you.

  • my family is like friends with him we knew him a long time lol NOT LYING!!!

  • i kno....she was speaking way deeper den wat dey translated....shoutz 2 da momz who went thru real strugglez...but welcome to america!

  • True I understood what they said

  • that scene is heart breaking.

  • Oh my god.

I was just starting to cry when I saw that scene.

  • I just saw this today at the Watt Lao of Nashville. Cried sooo much while watching it. It's a true story that represents many Laotians and their struggle for their dreams.

  • I am glad Ellen and Thavisouk promote this film will gain all Laotian story, we all I show this to students they all glad to see this film.

    Thank you

    Great story

  • the subtitles dont do this film's true essence justice but it still communicates the struggle and the pain. i cant wait to buy this film for myself and for others.

  • i wanna know when this movie is coming out to DVD! i heard about it and i really wanna watch this.

  • im not lying im really swearing this to u. he is my distant cousin

  • lol u people will not believe me but i know this guy in real life. he is like a really distant cousin. i know i will get thumbs down for this but to prove it, he is laos. im half laos and half cambodian. my cousin and his family invited us to meet thavisouk and his family to talk about the movie and other such. we all went back home for dinner and so did thavisouk and his family. i was talking to him and he showed me quite a few things that the movie did not have.

  • i dont get it wat is this abotu but it sounds very intresting?

  • its about a lao family who had their lives suffered because of war and other govermental conflicts. then the family traveled to new york city and their lives were still falling due to gangs and other such. once the family has called their father in florida, the father already had kids while he was in florida. so the family was disappointed and they felt betrayed on what the father has done

  • thanks for the info alot oooo really i never knew that untill now i would haave cry

  • no problem

  • when will it be release!

  • it was release in november of last year i think you might be able to find it in the stores. but i think you should get it online.

  • im very glad you posted this up.. right when i saw the description i watched it..and it did open my eyes.. im only 22 years old and when i showed this to my dad he started to cry he told me how much he related to this documentary and how much he agreed with thavisouk.
